  • Why are roads brown ?

  • Everbeen on a german autobahn? Count how many times your nearly rear ended by a merc doing 155mph

  • The Greeks are pretty bad drivers too

  • Les gens LOL français. Je ne suis pas français.

  • It's nice to say that French are good drivers, because I don't really think so (I'm French, by the way)... but it could be worse, I know.

Each time I've been in Italy, drivers behavior was a disaster.

  • @wizzie47 well of course Paris is a clusterfuck, but any large city is. From a motorcyclist perspective the French are by far the best on the continent.

  • @wizzie47 ahaha , tellement d'accord pour les italiens !

  • The best drivers are ZE GERMANS, and the worst are probably the Dutch.

  • Hello, you could explained me what you please say in the video because I am French and I anything am not understood with your video but I am curious to know what to think you of France. With and for information if you to roll on the French road made bus attention of the times the gendarmes hides and you catches when you do one infracions with the highway code!

  • sven go to paris.. it's insane.. you won't see a car without a dent in it.. its sick

  • French get along very well with english people

  • @talulah123 Well as a french I do. But I'll understand you would not not, when I see people like Stoplesionisme ;O

  • SHAME ON YOU FUCKING ENGLISH ...WHEN U COME IN FRANCE YOU PLAY THE FURIOUX DRIVER IN OURS ROADS......FUCKING ENGLISH YOU ARE YOU GOT NO RESPECT .....I SEE THAT ALL THE TIMES ...ENOUGH !!!!

  • @STOPLESIONISME1 Here I am complimenting the French....

  • @svengalie YOU ARE BEAUTYFULL MY LADY .....WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! ARE YOU ENGLISH???

  • @svengalie omg he doesn't understand anything.. and just look at his nickname.. pathetic

  • @svengalie

You did call them "ignorant effing effers" when they are outside of the car which would be most of the time. Just saying....

  • @STOPLESIONISME1 Fuck you ignorant frech bastard, go make yourself a baguette and die from it. French people are disgusting and nasty!

  • @MRjesseNL Haha

  • 1:09.. One hand!!!..... NO HANDS!!!!

  • im english and part italian does that make me a fuck horrible driver lol

  • The road is brown?

  • English worse that Italians?... hahahahahahaha you really have a sense of humor!

  • on holiday with an all inclusive hotel we waited for our meals in a long cue and the french just walked infront of us loads!

  • You should come to ROMANIA, see the Carpathians, go to Dracula's castle, enjoy the mountainside, it's great, check it out, come in my region and go to all the monasteryes ( we have a lot of èm in Moldavia- North-North East). Send me a message if you're interested.

  • Hey Sven, I know everyone asks you this. Do you have a website with your camera rig settings?

  • You won't hear that from us canadians : ) them french are ignorant all the time! : )

  • I rode down to Monaco through France shortly after I passed my test in 2008 and I have to say it was the most amazing experience for me. Courteous drivers who would almost crash their cars into a ditch to let bikes past, 2 lane motorways hardly ever with any traffic on em, The Aires (picnic areas you refer to and some have showers), and in 2000 miles I saw 1 section of roadworks about 100m long. D roads are amazing and the Millau Viaduct is incredible as is the Gorges Du Tarn. France = Ace!

  • I saw your bike today. (the BMW) Some guy had the same paint scheme, and even the saddle boxes. He only had 2 boxes though, not 3.

  • we Greeks hold that place for worst drivers. I believe we are close to Indians, only live on the European continent. have you seen how the Indians drive??? multiply it by 10. No respect for the motorcyclists or other drivers, and its sad cause its a really nice country to drive through. Hopefully (or not) you ll see it in one of your next trips

  • as for queuing - I think it's only the British who actually know how to do it :)

  • In the US we call them rest stops

  • I went to france in december and rented a scooter and it was amazing. they are very motorcycle friendly. better than america.

  • foska, the greek ride/drive FAST, but beatifully, somehow organised!... i mean, outside cityies, rearly see someone under 120 km/h, but when i went there i never touched the horn on mi bike and nobody cut my off in 7 days of riding. i like the greek traffic, fast and safe :D

  • Worst drivers in Europe...hahahah...I take it you've never driven in Greece!

  • I have Travelled all over Europe and i can agree that the French are the most motorcycle friendly drivers i have ever seen. I love France its a fantastic country ...

  • ever try going round the ar d'triumph (dunno if i spelt that right)? its supposed to be crazy. you shoud do a video on americans, that would be fun for "us yanks". just 1 thing: for the love of god stay out of alabama, every american stereotyp is only and often true in alabama. otherwise, do it, i would love it. washington state or oregon are closer to the climate of britain than, say, southern california

  • found it. looks like nobody on it had a very expensive car..went round three times? how many times did you get hit? should apply for the record of "most times around the arc without any damage"

  • @EatmyDust1311 it is "l'arc de triomphe" ;) believe me i m french

  • I LOVE driving in Paris - it sorts out the men from the boys. The rule is "worry only about what is in front of you" - everyone does this, and it works fine. (But it's true that if you do fall out of the flow, you ain't getting back in easily!).

And Italians are not great derivers - they are undoubtedly the most dangerous in Europe (not sure where this silly romantic idea that "they are crazy but good drivers" comes from...)

  • Damn, that looks painful, you are one lucky bastard, nice vid.

  • Apparently the high number of fast food restaurants on the highway was cited as on of the reasons most states are getting rid of their highway rest stops.

  • The french dont cook fish and chips as good as the english do ......

  • fish and chips are delicious... possibly one of my favourite foods. I can only imagine how good they must be in england lol ;p

  • Every time i go back to the UK to i make sure to get a round of fish and chips in, normally a doner-kebab too. Other than that i rekon english food is crap.

  • Lastly (I know I've written too much) they NEVER give you way, I was trying to get out from a minor road and turn into a highstreet (champs-elesys again), I was waiting for almost 5 minutes before i squeezed myself in between some cars moving slowly, so anyway, I'm never going there by car again, the sightseeing is wonderful though, and svengalie, I'm a big fan of your videos, keep them coming and ride safe :)

  • ahhh that's a city centre, I think you'll find the same in any large city anywhere in the world. Everyone trying to get somewhere.

I did hear (dunno if it's true) that nobody in France is insured on the Arc d'Triumph roundabout :)

  • Hmm, yeah you might be right, but still I prefer driving in london, it's much safer.

And wow, not insured? Good news im back to London then! Haha, and I managed to go around that arc plenty of times, that was a gamble, heh.

  • some googling revealed I might be wrong:

My cabbie explains to me, "If there is an accident here, each driver is considered equally at fault. This is the only place in Paris where the accidents are not judged. No matter what the circumstances, insurance companies split the costs 50-50. In Paris, a good driver gets only scratches, not dents."

  • Furthermore, their driving on the motorways is even more scary, their trucks/lorries drive either on the fast lane or on the middle lane, and when I was making my where there on friday morning, it was raining heavily, which lowered visiblity, had to either flash the trucks or undertake safely and quickly. They are rude when it comes to giving them way, never say thank you (in britain, usually motorists/cyclists wave with their arms, or flash the hazard lights for a second or two, not in paris

  • Coencidence(spelling) or not, I just went to France, Paris on friday for the weekend and came back last night, I went by driving with my friends and where do I start? Their driving is scary, changing lanes without signaling, the freaking roads in Paris (champs-elesys, spelling again) has no lines for the lanes, which put me on a sort of high alert mode, specially after getting involved with alot of motorists cutting me up without signaling or any signs of overtaking

  • Ive now seen you review a few things but I think you are the only motovlogger to review People. Thats an interesting concept.

  • Yeah I am not a fan of how they don't line up. When I was in Austria skiing they french were the worst

  • Oh, i've been to the somme before on a battlefield tour in France and Belgium, you should really check out Ypres and the Menin Gate and the last call they do its a weird atmosphere..Good vid, not so keen on the french but hey

  • I do like a good que...

  • last time i stopped at motorway services, luckily there was an M&S food place, nice sandwitch, sausage roles, juice and chocolate sponge things. very nice to eat, i would never eat a burger out of a fast food place to risky, at least M&S is quality, fair enough if i ate it everyday i would put on weight, but for what i needed at that time, it was brilliant , more M&S on the motorway please!!!

  • went to italy a few years ago for a week.....i don't think they know how to line up either - people just walking up in front of me like lah dee dah

  • lol i hate english drivers.. was going up the M1 (on my 125 cc bike) and it was doing 70 mph VERY happily, i was shocked.. but it was the one day that.. the lorries stayed on the left lane.... center 2 lanes were pretty much clear.. and the overtaking lane was chocoblock with twats doing 60... not over taking anyone!!?!?!?!? Where is the logic... WHERE?

on a positive note, I love the new ending to your videos =]

  • Well you have to distinguish between Good driving, and polite driving, I can name you plenty of people that are polite, but still are bad drivers. I think that italians are the best drivers, they are probably not the most polite, that's for sure, but as far as skills, since everybody throws themselves in front of you and there are scooters and MCs zipping around everywhere, they have to be twice as attentive on the road than the average european driver. Polite is far different from good driving

  • Take it from someone who lives next to Italy and has been there plenty of times: Italians are next to Slovenians the worst drivers in Europe. Period.

  • Australia I guess has both the service stations with a fast food outlet attached and many recreational/picnic/rest areas along our highways. Doesn't seem to help the obesity issue much though.

I for one enjoy taking a jog around a park every couple of hours on a ride.

  • In most restaurants in europe (bar the UK) they include an extra 10% or 15% to the bill as a tip... mosty places this isnt optional and evan the visa machines add it automatically

  • dg4rez - you succeeded in sounding very ignorant. French people, like all Europeans, are used to employees being paid a living wage, not exploited as they are in the US, so we sometimes forget the tip. Sure, we should indeed realise you guys live the way we did in the 19th century - so please forgive us our errors... just like we forgive you for shouting or wearing shorts or not knowing how to hold your knife and fork in our restaurants...

  • cool story bro

  • hehe, right on.

  • I totally agree re: the French driving skills - just on another level to the UK in terms of observational skills and consideration for other road users. Queuing is a uniquely British past-time - we are just so much better at it than other nations ;)

  • I've done 1000s of miles driving to Poland, Romania and other Eastern European countries and all I can say is that the UK drivers are the most polite in Europe, like flashing to let you out etc. Whereas in Germany I've had my car rammed(no accident and police couldn't trace the number-yer right) I've had loads of trouble being solo in a right hand drive car in Germany as they instantly know you're from the UK and so cut u up etc. French have never been a problem whilst in my car, rude otherwise

  • I cant agree with you on french beeing the best drivers. From my experience the best drivers are to be found in germany.

  • Until you check the statistic and see that every day 3 bikers are killed on German roads. And the roads in Germany are pretty bad, especially the side roads: narrow, twisty and very damaged. I couldn't believe it, but in Slovenia we have better roads (and ours are abysmal...).

  • If the roads are bad the drivers must be even better to manage..?

But when saying that, compared to the Norway (where I live) the German b-roads are better than our main roads... So I don't think that the roads are bad in Germany.

  • wow 2 weeks ago i did a trip to the somme and it was great. amazing differnce with allies and german grave yards. and i got to fire a 303. verry fun.

  • Hehe im french! ....well actually French Canadian, but still, here in Montreal, and in the province of Québec, I think we are the worst drivers in all North America, believe me, people here are BAD drivers! And the roads here are crumbling. it's dangerous to ride your bike here!

  • Nice +1

  • Chers for friend invite, love the vids, got me always checking youtube to see if theres a new one =P

from west midlands, on an RS125 =)

  • gd man, 2 stroke 125 and from the midlands... same as me but im honda nsr :)

  • "olala"

  • I suppose everyone's queing habbits are poor when compared to the british ; )

really looking forward the the somme video there.

  • What on Earth is on your windscreen, Sven?

Happy Thanksgiving btw, and thanks for the video.

  • Its a camelbak water system

  • aww its not off road

  • omg ur driving on the good side of the road! :P

  • I wish I lived on the south coast like you sven, i'd totally just jump on the train to france every weekend. But nooo, i got stuck in rochdale ¬.¬

  • i think that most of the frenc in the south are rude to turists. They understand you but wont answer or just ignore you if they see that you are not french (and i do speak french)

  • I love the Euro Disney story, must have heard it about 10 times now!

  • And us British lovely outside the car, arseholes in the car. Haha great vid Sven, keep them coming.

    - Sheep.

  • the French are only good at driving because their practicing their "run away" technique for the next war.

  • @sc4rzpur3 That's so true LOL

  • French running away? You obviously have no clue of history. Or do you perhaps mean the Italians who have militarily (politically is a completely different matter) lost every war and who are brave only against unarmed, helpless civilians, while complete cowards against trained, armed soldiers?

  • No,i mean they let the Germans take Normandy and we lost alot of men to get it. Italians are also just as bad.And how much of a life do you have, you must have gone down about 4-5 pages just to find my comment?

  • why is the pavemetn red?

  • because it's Thursday.

  • One handed on motoway! fuck that!

  • "Effing Effers!".

You are so eloquent Mr Sven. :)

  • Sven i think the italians a worse drivers than us mate.Rome has to be the worst place ever for bad drivers in my own opinion

  • So you say they are great in cars?! =D Have you seen their cars?!?! They're all damaged in som way! Dents in the body are like a normal thing down there.. where in every other contry it's an example of mistreating your car! =P Hahaha! I've been in paris, I tell you that all unexpensive and regular cars had dents in them.. LOL!

  • French have a different way of thinking than the rest of the world. In France the car is not a status symbol and even well-off people drive small, old cars... simply because they don't care about how they look, only that they get them where they need to go. The French are very intelligent and progressive (are also the most cultural nation in the world) and other nations can hide from them.

  • I miss the European highway system. Get out of the left lane America!!

  • Americans drive in the right lane...?

  • I meant to say that when your driving faster than a car in the left lane, they never get over for you. So you end up passing them in the right lane.

  • The video stops working for me at 1:42 I REFRESHED 3 TIMES. Oh well, I'll watch later. :(

  • There are soooo many obese people in America.

  • @ToastToGo Hey who you call fat Toast LOL j/k man yea i definatly agree. Hey man by the way happy thanksgiving!

  • Hahaha. I just came home from a Walmart trip, which greatly influenced that comment of mine. But I am also starting to fall victim in this obesity thing, I'm getting kinda hefty! Haha, it's time for me to take better care of myself. But yeah, I hope more people in America start to control theirselves.

And thank you very much, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving as well!

  • Dude i know what you mean about the walmart people as i call them. Wow some of them you just got to wonder like how they got to be 350lbs. Yea i dont have the 6 pack or anything like that i have slight chub but nothin compared to the majority of the people here haha.

Oh also no problem man and thank you also!

  • My grandfather was in that battle. I would like to see the video of the area.

  • I'm polite and knowledgable in and out of my car. But then, I'm not french, I just always lived there, so.

The one thing you definitely are right about and I can't (genetically I suppose) get used to is their inability to queue :þ.

It's not just about sliding in front of you, e.g when there are n spots to queue for, there are m queues forming with n < m. Obviously this has to resolve, somehow.

  • There's quite a few bad drivers in the states, glad to say I'm not a bad one. :)

  • wtf? why are the roads red?

  • Because they're expensive.

  • im american :( i like your videos they are fun to watch

  • No MC D's? NO FAST FOOD? .... THIS IS MADNESS!!!

    THIS IS SPARTAAAAAA

    Well, crappy france actually lol

  • As the great Al murry say's " we have rules. If we didnt have rules, where would we be?? France" ha ha Not sure about the drivers, but the roads are 1000x better then UK roads.

  • Love the way the guy got several thumbs down just for admitting that he was french XD

  • You just never saw russian drivers...

  • Thats true fucking niuts

  • WOW!! yall have a KFC - wich stands for kentucky fried chick wich is the state i live in in the u. states

  • wow. I'm from Kentucky, and I don't talk like that.

  • yes they have a kfc theres tons of places in the world that have a kfc what did you think kentucky was the only one?

  • i agree with here having the worst drivers, its no wonder that theres so much road rage when theres so many idiots on the roads

  • svengalie was complimenting the french

  • i know lol i just wanted to say that im french =P

  • And I am Québécois

  • mwa aussi =/ lol tu vien de ou ?

  • St-eustache toi?

  • Gatineau.

  • Sven gave you a "left-handed complement". I know, it doesn't sound like a real complement, but it's the best that an Englishman can do for a non-Englishman.

  • c'est tres bien

  • bon...
