@butjugler I would say they are fast, but really, it's more about developing your technique than it is the pedal. But for the price, I think these pedals are pretty good.
could you help me, i just got my vex pro touring double pedal about 5 days ago and ive watched your videos and i notice your right beater is in front of your left beater well mine is vice versa, and the right beater seems to be stronger and actually pushes out ahead about an extra inch, ive tried to tighten the one part that you said to with the allen wrench at the beginning of the 3rd video but didnt really help so any other ideas? any advice would be appreciated
@XXb4thenightXX Hello! Go back to Part 3, at the 6:45 mark and after (about foot board height) and in part 4 of 4 after the 5:45 mark, when I talk about the second allen wrench and beater adjustment. Remember, when the pedal is installed, the beaters will go as far as the batter head, and not beyond. Let me know if this helps. Good luck!
@6sic666666 Hey 6ic. To be fair, I haven't tried the PDP or the Sound Percussion pedals enough to give a fair comparison. If you have a drum or music store nearby that have them, then give them a try in person. If you're brand-sensitive, then go with the PDP. The Vex is at least comparable and for the price, pretty good. Can't say I know much about the Sound Percussion pedal. Maybe it's good too! Any should feel good, if you configure them properly. :)
@devwhit .....Aww man,The problem is,These have full surface on the bottom,Cause I have the same model, but only single pedal,And they dont slip as much as the pdp,I have never tried pdp double bass,I dont care about the brand, its all about the quality :)
@devwhit True sir,True,Ive heard that it doesnt have any adjustment,Clearly,I can see the VEX pros are adjustable,Or are my eyes deceiving me? Are the vex pros adjustable?
If you have nothing to do, watch the whole four-part series on configuring these pedals. Well, actually, you can get away with watching parts three and four and you'd be good to go (if you haven't watched them already, I mean). They'll give you a pretty good idea on how to adjust.
@devwhit Lol I have a lot to do,But ummm...Im thinking of buying the GPs.....This old guy is selling them to me for only 70...Theyre almost new,They look THE SAME...Except for the brand..........But yeah I watched all 4 to see how good they are
How legit do you like these pedals? I mean realistically, how close do they come to actual expensive mainstream professional brands? Would you call these top of the line feeling? Thanks for the input :)
I haven't used or tested thoroughly enough the other 'mainstream' pedals to give you a fair answer. I've used some of the other ones, but I'll just say that for the price, these (the Vex) are pretty good. If you (or your audience) is brand sensitive, then you should get Pearl, Tama, DW, etc. Pedals are a thing of subjective preference, so you'll have to see for yourself!
By the way, I've moved on to the Off-Set pedals, which I've reviewed at my site. :)
hey i wave a question.the left beater doesnt hit with its full power in wich i mean even if i prees the pedal the full way down it doesnt hit my head, ihave to press relly hard for it to go the full way to hit the bass drum. any tips???
Yes, I think the Vex pedal is pretty good, especially for the price. It's worked for me so far. Since it's so reasonably priced, you may want to buy it and try it for yourself. It may work for you right out of the box. I'm in no way saying that everyone will have these issues, but these videos are here just in case!
thanks a lot for posting these videos. i bought this pedal system for my son, but Vex (after repeated requests) never did provide me any documentation to help me with adjustments.
your videos are well done - easy for the layman to understand and apply. thanks again.
You're welcome! Glad the videos helped. I hope your son (and maybe you!) enjoy his pedal. You can go to my web site if you want to read about, well, other drum stuff!
is it me or does the pedal look tiny compared to his feet?
timmytimdrummerkid 3 months ago
@timmytimdrummerkid Wow, I didn't notice that before! The pedals are normal size, though. :)
