  • @xristakosgr

top speed is a genuine 75mph/120kmph, the bike is not at top speed in the video.

    It's doing roughly 100kmph/ 60mph.

  • met je pannenkoek

  • ... or something rediculous (ive never revved mine past about 11300 while riding..

but yeh it would easily pull 12000 if i revved it that high.. it pulls anwhere from around 9k is the limit.. anything under that and it cant pull it.. il get a top speed for you tomorrow or somewhen (:

  • Thanks for the info, did you manage to get a top speed from your bike, Had mine clocked by a car and it was at a genuine 70mph but had about 250rpm left so should do 72mph.

  • i havent checked top speed due to poor weather and having a puncture at the moment.. but i get a TRUE 68.2 at 10,000 revs

  • Mjj4 Where did you get your 17 tooth front sprocket and what sort of acceleration does it have as i was thinking of getting one, are you running a polini 80cc with that setup and speed. Does yours rev to 12000rpm with that gearing and what was the true top speed you have had out of it

  • i bought it off ebay.. i just looked for a 420 pitch sprocket because thats the pitch of the chain..

only problem is its drilled so that when you put the plate over the top, the grooves line up perfectly :( .. so i just used my grinder to grind to little indents in the side of the plate that bolts on the front of it.. and then bolted it on..

yeh its not to bad.. although you have to cruise at higher revs, because my bike has power from say 8.5K all the way up to like 13000 or something (pto)

  • VR46YAMAHA Do you mean your bike is a standard 50cc, because i have another video of a 50cc derbi and it says the setup, that would pull 65mph on flat with me on the tank. I can't see a standard bike doing 70mph+ downhill as it would be revving at about 15000rpm. If my 80cc revs to 12500 which i should think it would downhill, then i would easily do 75mph or more, i just don't want to go over 12000rpm with the standard crank. Your bike must be loud with exhaust baffles taken out? Any videos?

  • the standard 50's will pull maybe 60 if your lucky.. it depends on what sprockets your are running and 50's cant pull say a 16.. so they would be revving them very high.. im running 17/52 now and get a TRUE 70 at about 10,200 revs (i think off of my head).. and i dont know where everyone gets there speeds from, my old speedo used to read to like 150mph when i was doing about 70.. im using a trailtech vapor speedo set up with sat nav and a police speed check sign..

  • yeh my 21mm carb is only running a 92 main jet =/ ahah.. im hoping to ge ta 28mm carb and get it dyno jetted properly.. im running the polini cast iron,. got about same power as the malossi i was running but cast iron are more reliable and last longer.. only downside is they get hotter.. yeh i have the same exhaust.. best out there (:

ahh yeh bit of a mission haha..

im not sure.. it sounds like you need a bigger main jet.. but thats rediculous for a 17.5mm carb haha.. im not sure mate

  • no i dont have any videos of me driving past but il get you one soon..

i dont understand why your bike runs on a 102 if mine has a 21mm carb running a 92.. if i run a 100 it coughs between 6.5k and 7.5k if i open it up too much,..

as i said im hoping to get a 28mm carb and get it dyno jetted because that should give me alot more power.. and when i get hold of a correct flywheel puller il check my ignition timing with a strobe timer...

i get a true 70mph at 10k,off my head.. ill check on 16/52

  • do u need a bigger jet if ur already running a polini 80cc with exhaust on a 21 mm carb? anyways, for all of this what kind of jet would i need (if it doesn't already come with the 21mm carb?

  • but if i run a bigger main jet that 92 it coughs if you open up the throttle between around 6.5-7.5k revs.. like its flooding

unless the needle adjustment is way off...

i want too get a 28mm carb and get it dyno jetted

  • where u running a malossi mhr 80cc? the difference between the standard malossi and the mhr is: the mhr is where the malossi uses only 1 piston ring (as opposed to 2 in every other displacement kit) plus they use it in their track-only bikes so the squish could've been reshaped and the head could be shorter (decked) for more compression, but u can to that at a local machine shop for wayyy cheaper than buying the kit. did any1 run jolly moto exhaust on their GPR? the expansion chambers are huge!!

  • I have seen the jolly moto exhaust and they are meant to be very good and a high revving pipe. It's not the size of expansion chamber that decides the max rpm is it? Because i have another exhaust, custom made by someone and it will allow a bike to rev to 13500rpm. And the expansion chamber isn't that big, just a short exhaust similar shaped to the metrakit pro race exhaust.

  • im rather shocked, mines standard, exhaust well the baffles been taken out, and mine revs to over 12,500rpm, seen the other side of 70mph downhill, will sit at 65 on flat though.

  • Nice!, cheers for the info on yours. Metrakit SP 72cc, so it's not the pro race version metrakit do, then? 17 tooth front sprocket should easily get you 82mph real speed if not more!! because you have a 42 rear and i do 70mph with 15/52. Will yours rev full amount if you have 17/42 gearing though, might be underpowered? Polini is a lot cheaper than Malossi and have around the same amount of power. I am runing mine on a standard crank. My polini 80cc is cast iron whereas Malossi is aluminium.

  • ooo yeah....my bike revs to 12,000 rpm on current set up.........!

  • yeah, ...its a 72cc metrakit sp kit, 24mm carb (mikuni), metrakit sp exhaust, and thats it....! gearing is 15-tooth front and a 42 rear.....! im gonna put a 17 front and get over 80-82 mph....easy.....! is the 80cc polini kit the same as masossis or is it different....? well good luck....i know i'll hear from you soon....!
