Well I've played for Kim several times and I sing as well... So as a singer and musician sometimes you don't want to be led or distracted by a musician who may indeed (as this one was at the end of the 1st hymn she sang) have no clue as to where she wants to go next so it's cool not to pay.. And she was nice the 1st time.. she shouldn't have had to say don't play 2 more lol!!!.. Kim is (sadly) one of the few artist that can sing without accompaniment and keep her audience. So LET HER

Ok-finale I play drums at my church We have 3 regular drummers, and many times my pastor tells us not to play or switch players because we're not in tune with the Spirit and in that we're cutting the flow of the Spirit. In closing, the whole 1st part (before the free-style) was handling business while trying to keep the atmosphere uplifting. (I don't feel no-ways tire would have been an uplifting song - I've heard her rendition, it's NICE). The 2nd part was spiritual ignorance from the pianist.

I'm a musician and have come across some rather rude singers over the years. This video is the very reason I make it a practice never to play for a singer unless they ask me to. I don't care who else is beckoning for me to play or how much I think that I know he song.

Was Kim a little rude? Maybe...But as a musician, IMHO, given that you "accompany" a singer, if they even remotely imply that they don't want you to play, just don't play and you can avoid a lot of embarassment.

Non-musicians cannot understand that principle-especially when faced with a situation like this..she IS a musician, not just a singer- so he would have HAD to come with it if he had the audacity to even start playing....people get upset with me all the time for not playing unless i'm asked...but its for this very reason...u have to respect the one who is ministering and their wishes gracefully.

now most artist would have needed a music or else they wouldnt sing or when they did sing they wouldn't be in the spirit because they let the works of the devil get in the way..God must have already designed for the cd to not work right and stuff, cause when she was about to do her first song, they couldn't find it, and then when she was goin to do that random song, it messed up..so she did it with the piano and he wasnt followin right..so she let the spirit lead her..its called anointing..

Being a singer & musician, I honestly think the pianist was @ fault b/c the 1st time she told him he didn't have 2 play, he should have left it alone, until she told him 2 start back playing or whatnot. A lot of times when you're in the moment of ministering, u don't have time 2 stop and be all gentle with it especially after you've told them already not 2 play....as far as the sound situation, saying "sry i wasn't @ sound check" is 1 thing but "I'll c u nxt time" was rude! sry, but hey it was!

The piano guy was doing to much. Being a piano player we try to play like the singers and i hate this back them up let them minister and to god be the glory intsead of the spotlight. Personally i think they should have brought her the keyboard cause following a singer who moves the way she does is had you have to wait till shes done her runs and fill in now and then. dont fill with the singer be patience wait. most singers have pauses cause they freely sing.

As both a sound engineer and a musician, i can say both the engineer and the musician messed up. Something is definitely wrong with his equipment to just stop like that. As for the musician, you can tell he doesnt suck he plays well but he just dont listen. Being that she didnt come to sound check and she is jumping all over the place in her song, i would have let her go solo!

As a keys player for a ministry, and having backed up many singers... I always get the "gulp sensation" when someone who has a jazzy style comes up, because jazz singers to me are unpredictable at times. One time someone did a progression from d flat to g natural in 3 bars! I guess that's why I request rehearsals with all soloists now... haha.

Anyway if I was backing up Kim, I would have been sooo embarrassed, getting told off by Kim like that...

As a singer i know that sometimes when you hear a song a certain way in your head and you have a musician on the keys trying to lead you in a different direction, it is distracting. Ministry is so sensitive and musicians sometimes are not humble enough to take direction the first time., then get mad when they look stupid because they were disobedient.

For those of you defending Kim, that woman is very highly anointed, but she is flawed in this area. Forget your defense, because she does this very often, and on the mic too. When they say dont play the first time you dont play, you dont try and see if you can keep up with there key changes.
