Wayne Gretzky's records will never be broken, but it doesn't mean he was better than the players of today. I doubt he would score 30 goals in todays game. I don't think Jansher would dominate now like he did in his prime, there is far more talent in the game now. I just think it is the evolution of sport. Athletes in 20 years will be better than they are today.
jansher would have to lower his squash skills to be rated as good.... 8 world open and 6 british open titles is not a joke my friend.... never in the history of squash have there ever been players like Jansher khan and Jehangir khan.... you might not wanna like them because they are from pakistan... and u are a biggot.... but even bigottery cant change historical facts
I'm not arguing with his titles. They are exceptional, but he was playing in a time where there opponents weren't as strong as today and overall the top level was not as tough as it is today. Jansher will always be number one but if he was playing today it could well have been a different story. Sorry to burst your idealistic bubble :/
hahahah you are a freakin joker.... Jansher khan played a last few games towards the end of his career and only at that time some one jonathan power had the "power" to beat a player like him... no one has ever been like jansher khan or jehangir khan in the history of squash .... live with it.... yearssss after their retirement ... their world records are still unbeaten
@321roomi321 power is known for possibly being the best shotplayer of all time and
Peter nicol was not as skillful as power but still did better than him because he was fitter same goes to jahangir and the martin brothers and how do i know that you know anything about squash
Mr. clareheneghan, I dont care who is best shot palyer, or most skillfull, a Brit or Aussie, Please beat the records of Jansher (who accosted Jeff Hunt & Jonah Barringotn) or Jehangir : Keep it simple sweet., Mumbai, India.
@BubblesPothowari Sounds to me that your only concern with squash seems to be with records, and not the intricate aspects involved in squash. Before you fire away at your keyboard telling me that you're some squash champion of some unrecognized intramural, it is not always necessary to play the game to have a scholarly knowledge of it. For example, Harsha bhogle, never played professionally, but understands the deep aspects of the game better than any commentator alive.
@BubblesPothowari that's just stressing my point that you're concerned more with records than strategy, tactics, and the finer aspects of squash. There's nothing wrong with it, but accept what your priorities are.
@nahamsharc Strategy for what ? Do wins count ? Who won most ? Jahangir Khan 10 consecutive British Opens, 555 consecutive matches won. Was this achieved without any strategy ?
@clareheneghan You would have to compare Power with McEnroe. Both players were the best shotmakers in their respective games. They had the ability to create shots that no one else could, including Jansher or Federer. But their games were not solid enough to sustain it for a long period of time. But the McEnroe of 1984 and the Power of 2002 would have defeated all of the all-time greats.
@321roomi321 stop getting all hot and bothered. relative to their era, the khans were the best, but to say they were the most skilfull ever is unjustifiable. o well, u probably dont know much about squash. its the evolution of sport. players nowadays are better than those during the khans days. live with it.
lol bet you don't know that much about squash then.... bet you won't last even one rally against these players. And when you play against Jansher Khan you would already want to go off court when you're warming up mate!
palmer, epitome of consistency...

@321roomi321 i know im just saying
that jahangir was the best of all time record wise but not necessarily the most skillful of all time

so u can hold world records which remain unbeaten decade after your retirement without being the most skill ful.... give me a break

@nahamsharc Have you heard of an opening rally of 104 shots that ends in a let in a world open ? Who were those champs ?
