  • These Guys are a bunch of fucking idiotic Americans that know fuckall about this car STUPID FAT FUCKING AMERICANS

  • @Colin12596 - May we suggest you watch our full Volvo C30 review where we compared it to the MazdaSpeed3 and GTI on canyon roads instead of a track. And we hope you'll watch more of our work to see what we do. Either way, thanks for watching.

  • This might be a bit odd... but is there any way to make a comparison for a Volvo C30 and a Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback?

  • Comment removed

  • @mrluvmuff- why mention a civic ? Anyone looking a c30 is unlikely to get a boner over a rice burning tin can.

  • @KlasykaPolskiegoHH NOPE Volvo c30 polestar

  • nope... BMW M5 E60 only :)

  • i wish i had one so bad bout time they made a solid volvo hatch its a beaut

  • What do you think about the 2008 volvo t5 version 2.0 hatchback? im thinking of getting that one

  • as someone who owns both, the GTI is the one i'd have. They're both great but I prefer sportiness to comfort

  • I wish they had the pcp c30 here.

  • I wish they had the pcp c30 here.

  • at least its got brakes?

  • Power Not Bad lol if you drove a 900 cc 50 HP corsa you would definitely think differently its a family SALOON like Jeremy Clarkson said about the Golf GTI drop the kids of at school and came back home a 100 mile and hour anything over 100 HP is more than YOU NEED GUYS NOT BAD NOT A BIG ENGINE lol

  • The brakes in Volvo are incredible, at first they feel bad but when you get your volvo and get used to it you feel them actually better than most cars.

  • The Volvo C30 wasn't built to be a track racer... It's a fast, 3 door cruiser.

  • The brakes feel that way because that is the way volvo designed them to feel it is NOT supposed to feel like a race car. If you want a stiffer pedal feel go with a quality aftermarket pads and rotors. theres my 2cents

  • Cool volvo? Where have you guys been for the last 15-20 years? The 850 R, S70/V70 R, S60R/V70R..... Those aren't cool?

  • I think it's so silly how these cars are always being tested on racetracks. yeah, they're fun to watch, but honestly, when am I ever going to be driving my Volvo hatchback around on a racetrack and commenting on the understeer? I'm more concerned with reliability, gas mileage, and overall driving satisfaction :)

  • This video is kinda lame - both these reviews spend the ENTIRE clip complaining about the C30 and then at the end, they both say they would get one as a daily driver.

  • Guys, would you prefer Golf GTI to the Volvo C30?

  • @TLaitharex - Depends a bit on what you are looking for. Both are great cars. GTI is better for space and fun. C30 is better for cruising and commuting. You should watch our full Hot Hatchback comparison of the 2010 GTI, MazdaSpeed3, and C30 to learn more.

  • @EverydayDriver cannot find the link :/

  • @TLaitharex How about the VW Scirocco?

  • Don't get why they don't like it..

  • @morrarN - The guys do like this car, it's just not their favorite in this hatchback segment. We recommend you watch our more complete review of the C30 which you can find our Youtube channel or website. See it compared to the GTI & MazdaSpeed 3 to get a better feel of how this fun little Volvo stacks up.

  • "edward cullan" made it seem like this car was just a well round car. not by this video :o

  • Youtube comments taught me something....people are stupid!!!!!!!!!!

  • Better than perfect.İ have only 1.6 c30, but i love it so much.

  • its kool and all i just dont like the rear end of it. from the front and sides its nice but once you get the back, it seems to lose style. but thats my opinion. Other then that it seems like a good car.

  • really? i like how the back end stands out. To me that is the best part of the style.

  • @pilotsim so true i love the back of the car lol

  • I'm thinking in replacing the brakes in mine, they don't feel like enough braking power. I'm gonna get bigger ones.

  • @AdrianC12345 I strongly doubt that the cause of the 'brake issues' with this car when driving aggressivly, stem from the actual brake rotor SIZE that comes stock. Before you dump a large amount of money into another braking system it's always smartest to test other components and find out WHY the braking is inadequate. Try different pad compounds first which is cheap and easy to go through, then if you need more (prolly unlikely) change rotor compounds, etc...

  • Had mine for almost a year. This review is extremely accurate. Great car...fun to drive...but they are correct. The brakes are absolutely awful for the C30. You can tell they are insufficient just by visual inspection.

  • Awesome car! Volvo for Life!

  • Thanks to everyone for their contributions esp. Enzyte and Everyday Driver. Thanks so much!

  • What a journey. I hate car shopping!I Even thought about the R32, but I went with the 4 cylinder Altima and trust me that took A LOT of nerve! I quess I had to determine down the road that a japanese car is somewhat cheaper to maintain than a swedish and german car. At least I do have a buyer to take my current 1992 Ford Taurus off my hands for $500(runs great). I guess I'll enjoy my last few days in my Taurus.

  • Too bad I'd have to drive over 150 miles to test drive the C30! Instead I went ahead and chose the Altima. I plan to pick it up on Dec.28th. The color I chose was the 2009 Super Black, it already has tinted windows.

  • Test drove a C30 and OMG sweet like sex with a hawt chick with no morals. The GTI was like sex with a chick who didnt want you to touch her hair while the C30 was telling you to pull it LOL

  • Love that.

  • Simply based on looks I'd choose the Volvo over the Gti...But of the coupes I've test driven, Altima, Accord,Gti,Civic Si,I'm now leaning towards the Gti.Planning to purchase either w/i a month or two...too bad I couldn't find a C30 to test drive, still looking though.Thx for the post.

  • Seriously drive a C30, I drove a Jetta with the 2.0T engine and I gotta say, the C30 would kill it. Not to mention, the seats are FAR comfier (not soft, but supportive). The interior of the C30 kills the Jetta in functionality and quality. Do NOT buy a VW till you drive this! lol

  • brownfox, out of those coupes, i'd say go with the altima or the accord. they last forever and are cheaper to maintain than the gti. gti's are fun as hell, don't get me wrong, but the 3.5L in the other 2 are just spectacular as well.

  • wat color is this c30

  • I know its not a racer but if you wanna go fast does it? Like better than average cars?

  • Had the volvo c30 T5 for 2 months now its an amazing car to drive... i agree withe the review its not a racer it is not a racer its made for luxury and comfort...awesome awesome car

  • Wow, please help, please! I'm trying to decide b/t the 2009 volvo c30 and 2010 volkswagen gti coupe...any suggestions?! Thanks. As far as looks I guess the C30. Maybe. I'm lost.

  • We've sent you a personal message in order to have more space to respond.

    Thanks for watching!

  • I'm Italian monday I'l go to take my new c30 I'm very decide, monday coming!!!!...

  • I am getting a c30 this christmas, i also considered the gti, but i prefer the volvo.

  • c30 is faster than gti

    unless u get the r32

  • volvo c30

  • hehe, i know its a month later but do you feel like sending me that message too :P im in the same boat

    Thanks!

  • @brownfox79 that is really funny that you have an interest in both of those two cars because those are my top 2 lol

  • get a c30!!

  • @brownfox79 Volvo c30 D5 with chip is amazing.

  • @brownfox79 The Volvo is FAR cheaper to own, the VW WILL break down often, and the C30 just got intelichois's award for lowest cost of ownership. Plus the Volvo looks soo much better and it's special. Plus you can easily fix what they're talking about. AND it handles better and is faster than a GTI.

  • @AdrianC12345 Not really, I raced a C30 in my GTI and it lost to me

  • @zerooneonefive Individual drivers may vary, but the C30 is a faster car. Good to see that you're clearly a good enough driver to compensate for having a slower car.

  • @AdrianC12345 I mean I went with the GTI just cause I preferred the interior and the space and It was just more me but trust me I know the GTI is quick but it's really not that fast but it's still a fun car and so is the C30. I didn't buy the GTI for it's speed because theres more to a car than that but if I really just wanted a fun hatch for speed I would've gone the STI route.

  • @zerooneonefive I know, this Volvo isn't exactly the super sports car of the class. I just think it's diferent and more special, and I like the interior of the C30 more. Simple chassis tweaks make this into a real proformer because the chassis of the C30 is amazing. Volvo's tuning on it is just bad.

  • @AdrianC12345 yeah it's actually very surprising what you can do with these cars. The chasis on the C30 is great and I was surprised with the C30 I drove even though If I got a C30 i'd get it stickshift for sure.

  • I have one of these and it's a terrific car...but it isn't a Golf GTi rival and they are right about the brakes. For normal everyday driving and as a long distance grand tourer however, it's a brilliant package.

  • top gear much better then this shit british all the way

  • of course it is you idiot. How dare you bring Top Gear down to the level of this. Not even in the same league.

  • He always says it's great blah blah and then he says "but"

  • Very bad review. A real reviewer will always be impartial in front of a car, you are only saying stupid and bad thing, even if you say there is a high mark at the end the way is to understand the good and bad point of the car. You're not even talking about features in this car.

  • typical American:

'It has a small engine (2.5 ltr 5 cil.)'

O my god!! Not every car has a V8 under the hood you idiots !!!

And yes, it handles very well compared to big and heavy americans, duhhh!!!

Keep the testing to europeans (for instance; top gear, fifth gear etc etc.)

way better and way more fun to watch.

    Greetings from holland

  • LOL i agree.

in europe 2.5litre 5 cylinder turbo is a BIG engine... better than a V6 in most cases.

  • Agree. Don't need a V8 to get lots of horsepower either. . Just take a B230FK engine (2,3L). If u tune it u can get over 300hp EASY ! some have made it to over 500 and more . =)

But I like the sound of a V8. I edmit

  • @yorickm take it easy,no car is perfect:)

  • @yorickm

Enjoy your tiny shit box. Of course you can't drive our cars in Europe, the roads there are like bicycle lanes.

  • @Charles2337 and we don´t want to drive your unsafe, big and suck tons of gas car´s and the road here is big :O or or you just can´t drive between the line´s. i have even droved a Tractor i mean a big one and the road´s are still big.

    And its deferents every country...

we can´t drive your car´s here because they never pass the crash test maybe?

  • @kilkilm

I don't know what American cars you are talking about that cannot pass a crash test. My Jeep Cherokee was rear ended by a truck 2 years ago. Fucking guy was drunk. The hatch was pretty smashed in but everything else was fine.

    American cars are strong man.

I also remember seeing on the news in my area, a Dodge truck crashed into a Volvo, the Volvo was destroyed. Truck just lost its bumper and dented front end.

And, I don't mind the mileage on our cars. My truck runs on CNG.

  • @Charles2337 its look destroyed because it made to absorb the crash instead of you absorbing it :P i don´t even need to go to school to know that... American cars are strong... ofc if you want the driver to absorb the crash. And you said american have strong cars BUT you never said safe..

But ofc every cars are safe now thanks to the technology and volvo´s effort.

  • @Charles2337 Nah, were just better drivers in Europe, you see plenty of large cars where I live. Nothing to do with the size of the roads. Anyway, remember who made you, so get back in line.

  • @CandlesInADaze

Nice try, I'm Korean and Japanese.

  • @Charles2337 Point still stands.

  • Can't wait to get my C30!

  • me either!

  • not a good review.Volvo haters.

  • exactly

  • We're a bit surprised by the commentary that the guys hated this car. You'll note at the end of the review that they both give it high marks and acknowledge the C30 as a great car for everywhere but the track.

No Volvo hating happening here. Did you watch the whole review?

  • @zaqgt5 this to me seems like a very good review (especially the 3/4 score you missed). The only real 'issue' with the car would be the braking, which could be cured by a number of things. It's a great starting point I'd say, nice to have a car that's not perfect...gives you something to work with if you're a car person. Buying an Audi R8 while fast...won't mean much if you mod it, but buy a C30 and mod it can make a whole WORLDS difference. Hope that makes sense to some :)

    Kei

  • it's not a fucking track car you idiots. that's the point. small, compact, SMOOTH ride, QUIET, everything the other cars in the segment are not. quit griping about things that don't matter to the car.

  • exactly

  • the t5's in these have ton's of potential but this is like a baby tank way too porky. really sexy looks though

  • "Unlike most Volvos... Many tuning options are available for the C30" Volvos as far back as the 240 series are popular for tuning as far as I know - and there are many parts available. Ok review - did feel the Volvo bashing though.

  • nice review!

  • Sell outs! Drive an Olds Cutlass Sierra! That's an everyday driver car!
