I'm personally not concerned about vitamin d3 and your wife didn't need to be either. When tests are run on vitamin levels the common vitamin that is checked for is D3. If they don't have equipment that can check for D2 levels then they won't sufficiently register. Research has shown that D2, is equally as effective as D3 but you just need to ask them to scan for D2 instead of D3.
Well, if you were really as knowledgeable as I assumed then you'd know that the body treats D2 the same as D3. The only problem that we deal with is that when you ask a doctor to test for vitamin deficiency they automatically scan for D3. There are plenty of issues that address this issue since the D vitamin is not very easy to acquire. However, you're obviously not interested in educating yourselves so all the best to ya.
Great question, Skeeter! I suppose I glazed over that subject a bit in the video, but there was so much to squeeze in. There are a lot of subtle issues at work here, including chronic pain like Christine has with her fibromyalgia symptoms, diabetes, cancers, heart disease, and even obesity among others. Do a Google search on "Vitamin D Deficiency" and "Symptoms" and prepare to be amazed. Also, be sure to check out Dr. Davis' and Dr. Holick's web sites.
It is so wrong that doctors don't automatically check our vitamin & mineral levels, close to 50 years of doctors and not once have they automatically checked for vitamin deficiency, I suppose you have to have a rich peoples doc
Your high for D at 70 is actually the old range. Newer ranges say a high of 100! I have malabsorption of fat soluble vitamins like D so I take 100,000 IU DRY D3 DAILY! There are 50,000 IU DRY D3 capsules out there OTC online. And your right about what docs do when they see high doses of D. But your labs tell the story! I was an 8 this time last year. Great info Jimmy! I too got caught in the sun today and I'm feeling it already! UGH!
THANKS for sharing your story. Dr. Davis said that 70 is a pretty optimum level, but you're right--unless you get near 200 ng/mL, then you're not in danger of toxicity. Hope your sunburn subsides, too. :)
Thank you for this. Even though I do live in Texas, I can no longer be out in the sun as much as before because I am, now, taking medication that leaves me very photosensitive. So I'll take my Sam's membership and head there soon!
Right. Right now I have to go in for blood tests every couple of months because of the medication I am, now... Apparently another "lovely" side affect of one of them is that it messes with my blood sugar levels which can mess with other numbers... so I can just ask the Dr' if he can "Add" that test on.

What brand of Vitamin D did u get? I couldn't quite make it out.

I get the D3 gelcaps from Sam's Club.

Hopefully those soft gels are loaded with the inflammatory, soy or veggie oil. Glycerin or olive oil is what you need to look for in soft gels.

They're the good kind. :)

Does Christine feel better? What was the difference?
SunshineFirwood 2 years ago
She's gradually improving as we get her D3 levels up. Joint pain, chronic fatigue, and other symptoms are doing better.

So what happens to the body if one is low on vitamin D?

Very good Jimmy I had no idea about this. Right now I just take a mult-vitamin and fish oil. I go to Sams every week and I'll pick some up this week.
Man that vitmain health site was an eye opener. I'll probably start with 2-3 pills per day. I'll also get the test, you are right $40 is a good deal.
I think an interesting video would be you going through all the vitamins/supplements you take every day.
Thanks as alway mike

AWESOME! Get your levels checked just to make sure you "need" to supplement.

That'll be a good idea...may explain some of your need for those meds you are taking if the level is low.
