I remember the commercials! I seem to remember there was a competition between Quisp and the "new and improved" Quake which Quisp won and thereafter, Quake disappeared. As to Quisp cereal, you can still get it at Marcs.
@folgore1 If you go to TV Toy Memories.com (the animation cel section) you can see a TV commercial animation cel of the competion between Quisp & Quake. It is a tote board with hash marks for Quisp on one side, and the other side was used for the Quake hash marks.
Yes, Quake was voiced by Bill Conrad. I met Conrad and he was telling stories about doing the voice of Quake. Wikipedia credits Daws Butler with doing the voice of Quisp.
nice he takes off a mountain top, couldn't he just have lifted their plane? typical western mindset, no concern for the ecosystem. :p thanks for uploading! :D
I remember looking up Quisp cereal several years ago on the Internet found it was actually still made and available in select places - Very few places but still available nonetheless. It was also still available by going to the manufacturers website or looking it up via search engine.
Quisp & Cap'n Crunch were my two favorite cereal's as a kid. I think it was sometime in the 1970's Quisp disappeared from regular stores though.
This was the commercial that introduced the "new" Quake (in appearance as well as the cereal itself), produced by Jay Ward [you can tell by the revival of the "Whynchtakea Peak" gag from "Rocky and Bullwinkle", and the voice cast]. Bill Conrad is the voice of "Quake", Daws Butler is "Quisp" and "Arlo" the pilot ; June Foray is "Mama"; Bill Scott is the other pilot. Paul Frees is the announcer at the end...
@ftenzer They do still make Quisp. It is sold in a few metropolitan markets. They do that so they can keep their trademark active. To the best of my knowledge, they don't make Quake. It is a shame, I think they would make a nice bundle, off of the nostalgic memories of Quake cereal. Pepsi owns Quaker Oats and in my personal opinion, I think Quaker history is insignificant to Pepsi.
@rcd2066 I remember they had some kind of competition marketing blitz where kids were asked to vote for Quisp or Quake and they were going to get rid of the loser. I'm pretty sure Quake lost. They used to have some POP stuff in the supermarket asking you to vote.

Frankenberry and Count Chocula.
Baron Von Redberry and Sir Grapefellow.
