I have an 07' IS350 48kmiles on it... and I am totally dissapointed... everytime I rev pass 5k rpm... engine light comes on... engine shakes, VSC check light comes on... I took it to dealer about 5 times in 3 weeks... they say they cant find anything wrong with it... Lexus is bogus...
@12eb3L The thing is... I still have powertrain warranty for it... but for some reasons... it's almost as if they are avoiding to do any warranty repairs... after this car tho... I am officially done with Lexus and will tell anyone who buys a Lexus to look elsewhere...

I learned to fix it myself and will NEVER trust dumbass Lexus technicians... those f*ckers can't fix shit... all they do is reset my damn ECU so the Engine Light goes off and say they fixed it... I just got sick of going there and they were trying to start charging me for it... What I do now is just reset the ECU myself and it runs fine for a bit... then it will come on occasionally...

@mondeost2202008 It does have a delay in it on manuel. Like a second or half, thats why i traded mine in for the IS-F, that shit is on point. And the difference between the two cars is amazing. Not just the speed but everything feels different.
They really should implement the technology they've given to the LF-A in their F line-up. Imagine, a V10 Powered tuned LS or having the same transmission from the LF-A in an IS-F.
@mondeost2202008 but then the prices of those cars would go even higher. That engine is the reason why that car went over 200K. The technology behind it is too far ahead right now for it to pay it's self off. i mean a v10 the size of a v8 and the weight of a v6. That's just nuts and the gears shift so fast that they couldn't use a regular RPM meter. Personally i think no one with that kind of money wants to spend that much on a lex, when others are just as fast for less you know.
@Randomkaoz Well they didn't really went for the money with the LF-A. Same reason for the Bugatti Veyron which wasn't really supposed to be for profit except that it did sell and the LF-A is also sold out.
Seeing what lexus did, I'd say they've done a lot of things that supercar manufacturers could only dream of (such as how the V10 is the size of a V8 and as light as a V6 which sound pretty much Sci-Fi and how an analog RPM meter couldn't keep up with the revs).

G37 is eventually faster, IS350 gets the jump on it till about 100-110 mph then the G37 starts to pull away... just because a car is faster to 40 mph or 60 mph doesnt mean its actually the faster car.

WTF, who races on a dyno ??? The people that test cars such as MT, C&D, R&T, and edmunds . com all test their cars in real life at a privately owned or rented drag strip or at a huge empty parking lot. Then they measure their findings using multiple recording devices including Vbox(and some more reliable systems), sometimes they even race them side by side. Also the G37 has more power and has a higher top speed of which it is limited by.

the 2nd gen G35 was crap, period. the 3rd gen G35/G37 is a much better car. G37>IS350, the IS drives like a fridge(the steering isnt as preciseor direct, brakes arent as strong, it understeers and rolls more in the corners, and so on), the IS just lacks character(granted it is a nice well made car) like nearly all Lexuses. Infiniti is the BMW of Japan(true drivers/sports cars), Lexus is like the Mercedes(trying to be sporty and luxury at the same time).
@98MAzdaMilleniaS Yeah the G35 was garbage all around, i remember my back hurting in that shit the most, but i don't man lot's of my friends had 37s and though they were please with the speed increase they are not too happy with the constant visits to the dealer for dumb shit that should be fucking up. I sold my IS350 after putting work to get it to perform great, now i have the F, which is a huge difference between the two cars.
The F is a hot rod 4-door racecar, Nissan should put its 5.6 liter in the G37 sedan and coupe, but lower its displacement to 5.0 or so and raise the compression ratio, then you would have 400-450 bhp easy. ;D Also my friend has a 2008 G35(3rd gen) and it has 75k miles and has yet to be at the dealership once for mechanical issues, theyre very reliable. Just avoid water, if you go in water thats an inch too high ur screwed, the whole engine will blow, air filter on bottom of car.

Yet 7 of the car club guys who still have their 35s and 37s have been to the shop twice while the 35s have been 4 to 5 times.
@Randomkaoz Yeah they put it in the M56, put the M is a G in a fat suit, so it weighs over 2 tons and takes 13.4 seconds to do the 1/4 mile and 5.2 to hit 60 mph(G37 does hits 60 in 5.3-5.5 and 1/4 mile in 13.8) which means most of the M56's power is lost in its weight, and in the end its not that much faster than a G. Also G37 have top reliability ratings by JD Power(over IS350 and ES350 and Acura TL, etc.), the 03-06 G35 was a badly made car by all accounts, looks like a Nissan Altima.

G37 weighs exactly the same as IS350 @ 3615 lbs(same 53/47 F/R weight distribution too), I dont understand why the IS is so much faster, G has over 20 more horsepower. I guess its down to its 7-speed auto which has to shift more times and maybe isn't as aggresively geared. Well I guess the G is eventuallyyyyyy faster, IS350 is limited to 147 mph and G37 to 155 mph.
@Mikeof7 Does the G37 accelerate like the G35, like it shoots off quick but after around 50 or 55 that burst of speed just leaves. I think it could be that, nissian are very torquey and they all seem to lose that burst after awhile. Where the lexus's are the opposite they start out slow then push up. Even my IS-F does that, it has to wait a think for a second before it goes oh you want to fly?

First off, the 03-06 G35 coupes weighed 200-300 lbs more than the sedan yet had about 20-30 more bhp, the 07-08 G35 sedan was redesigned and looks like the new G37s, it was both faster and lighter than the 07 G35 coupe. the 07-08 G35 sedan was still about as fast if not faster than the 08-present G37 coupe, the 09-present G37 sedan is slightly slower at lower speeds(less than 80 mph) but Im sure its got ahigh speed advantage,
@Randomkaoz I have an 08 G35 sedan with manual transmission, technically it is a G35s because it has sport package with sport suspension, hi-performance brakes, Viscous limited slip differential and so on. the 07-08 G35 sedan is actually faster than the 09-present G37 sedan and 08-present G37 coupe. The G37 coupe weighs around 250 more lbs than my G35(3600 vs 3850) and is actually slower even though it has slightly more power, the sedan has gearing for mpgs not acceleration, it also weighs more
....the G37 sedan weighs 50-100 lbs more and has gearing more biased towards fuel economy(on the auto at least, 5-speed vs 7), so I could beat the auto but probably not the G37 sedan manual. The G37 sedan is faster than the much heavier G37 coupe too...
@Mikeof7 have you ever thought about putting a turbo on it. Some one i know did that with their S, but other people were saying that how its risky on the G35s to put a turbo on it. Is that true? Google 50/50 weight distribution cars and you'll find an article about top 10 automative mechanical myths and misconceptions where they say that 50/50 weight distribution is far less important than if that weight is localized in the middle (good) versus at the ends of the car. they also give an example with formula 1 races that dont even have 50/50 distribution. good read.

IS350 equipped with Sport pkg (factory option) will handle better. I put the F-Sport intake on mine, and when it was in the junkyard I got my intake out and put the OEM one back on lol. I knew I was gonna get another IS. I want to put the intake back on, get lighter wheels, drop it with the F sport springs, and put either Tanabe or HKS exhaust on it..I want it to sound good and be pretty loud but I don't know if HKS hi power is gonna be too loud. :/

There's only one car that is most certainly an equal to the IS 350 in acceleration, and that's the bmw 335i. The other competitors are not up to par (c350, g37, TL, entry level audis) the list goes on.
He lets go of the brake (i.e. BEGINS accelerating) at 3500 RPM. From 0 to 3500 RPM, the car goes from 0 to 0. Only an idiot would count torque building time as part of 0 to 60. The car isn't fucking moving.

The technology behind it is too far ahead right now for it to pay it's self off. i mean a v10 the size of a v8 and the weight of a v6. Personally i think no one with that kind of money wants to spend that much on a lex, when others are just as fast for less you know.

Seeing what lexus did, I'd say they've done a lot of things that supercar manufacturers could only dream of (such as how the V10 is the size of a V8 and as light as a V6 which sound pretty much Sci-Fi and how an analog RPM meter couldn't keep up with the revs).

G37 is eventually faster, IS350 gets the jump on it till about 100-110 mph then the G37 starts to pull away... just because a car is faster to 40 mph or 60 mph doesnt mean its actually the faster car.

The people that test cars such as MT, C&D, R&T, and edmunds . com all test their cars in real life at a privately owned or rented drag strip or at a huge empty parking lot. Then they measure their findings using multiple recording devices including Vbox(and some more reliable systems), sometimes they even race them side by side. Also the G37 has more power and has a higher top speed of which it is limited by.

the 2nd gen G35 was crap, period. the 3rd gen G35/G37 is a much better car. G37>IS350, the IS drives like a fridge(the steering isnt as preciseor direct, brakes arent as strong, it understeers and rolls more in the corners, and so on), the IS just lacks character(granted it is a nice well made car) like nearly all Lexuses. Infiniti is the BMW of Japan(true drivers/sports cars), Lexus is like the Mercedes(trying to be sporty and luxury at the same time).

The F is a hot rod 4-door racecar, Nissan should put its 5.6 liter in the G37 sedan and coupe, but lower its displacement to 5.0 or so and raise the compression ratio, then you would have 400-450 bhp easy. ;D Also my friend has a 2008 G35(3rd gen) and it has 75k miles and has yet to be at the dealership once for mechanical issues, theyre very reliable. Just avoid water, if you go in water thats an inch too high ur screwed, the whole engine will blow, air filter on bottom of car.

I have a ES300 with 140K never had a problem not even electrical. 1995 corolla (when i was broke) gave it away, to this day never saw the dealer or repair shop. Yet 7 of the car club guys who still have their 35s and 37s have been to the shop twice while the 35s have been 4 to 5 times.

@Randomkaoz Yeah they put it in the M56, put the M is a G in a fat suit, so it weighs over 2 tons and takes 13.4 seconds to do the 1/4 mile and 5.2 to hit 60 mph(G37 does hits 60 in 5.3-5.5 and 1/4 mile in 13.8) which means most of the M56's power is lost in its weight, and in the end its not that much faster than a G. Also G37 have top reliability ratings by JD Power(over IS350 and ES350 and Acura TL, etc.), the 03-06 G35 was a badly made car by all accounts, looks like a Nissan Altima.

G37 weighs exactly the same as IS350 @ 3615 lbs(same 53/47 F/R weight distribution too), I dont understand why the IS is so much faster, G has over 20 more horsepower. I guess its down to its 7-speed auto which has to shift more times and maybe isn't as aggresively geared. Well I guess the G is eventuallyyyyyy faster, IS350 is limited to 147 mph and G37 to 155 mph.

I think it could be that, nissian are very torquey and they all seem to lose that burst after awhile. Where the lexus's are the opposite they start out slow then push up. Even my IS-F does that, it has to wait a think for a second before it goes oh you want to fly?

First off, the 03-06 G35 coupes weighed 200-300 lbs more than the sedan yet had about 20-30 more bhp, the 07-08 G35 sedan was redesigned and looks like the new G37s, it was both faster and lighter than the 07 G35 coupe. the 07-08 G35 sedan was still about as fast if not faster than the 08-present G37 coupe, the 09-present G37 sedan is slightly slower at lower speeds(less than 80 mph) but Im sure its got ahigh speed advantage,

@Randomkaoz I have an 08 G35 sedan with manual transmission, technically it is a G35s because it has sport package with sport suspension, hi-performance brakes, Viscous limited slip differential and so on. the 07-08 G35 sedan is actually faster than the 09-present G37 sedan and 08-present G37 coupe. The G37 coupe weighs around 250 more lbs than my G35(3600 vs 3850) and is actually slower even though it has slightly more power, the sedan has gearing for mpgs not acceleration, it also weighs more

IS350 equipped with Sport pkg (factory option) will handle better. Yeah even my 250 was fun, I loved it. (I got hit by a semi and a 24' box truck on the interstate, not fun.)
I put the F-Sport intake on mine, and when it was in the junkyard I got my intake out and put the OEM one back on lol. I knew I was gonna get another IS. I want to put the intake back on, get lighter wheels, drop it with the F sport springs, and put either Tanabe or HKS exhaust on it..I want it to sound good and be pretty loud but I don't know if HKS hi power is gonna be too loud. :/
