i could care less about stop lights but i ended up watching this video. i still dont care about signal lights but for some reason im happier for having seen it haha. well played sir.
All red is a relatively new concept in the context of the total time electric signals have been used. Signals of this vintage used electromechanical controllers that oftentimes didn't have enough steps to display all red intervals. The invention of electronic controllers allowed more indication options. Also the Sargent-Sowell in the collection used a die cut cam Synchron controller rather than a step controller and displays an all red indication. (The buzzing is a flourescent light.)
@vertoisful They old skool cast aluminum ones are. The 12-12-12 (meaning 12" lenses) weigh about 40 to 50 lbs. The smaller 8-8-8 is about 25 lbs. The ones that are made of polycarbonate weigh far less (almost 75% less approximately).
This is a one-way progression. Now, get a progression in both directions. Then, try to get progression in 4 directions in a network of signals. (Ask for the world. . .)
Great collection of lights you have! Love to see how you have them change! I have 1 single stoplight, but all I have it do when plug it in, all 3 colors come on at the same time!
Well done! Curious, have you zapped yourself putting all of this together? I understand the "professional" point of view, but I'd be unable to completely control my excitement and not stick my finger somewhere it shouldn't go (oh, and I'm no professional).

You have not shown your LFE Doghouse Signal

Do you have a "Wiley Signal", where the wheel changes to STOP and GO and the lights, red and and green are lettered?
RockynRalphie 2 years ago
Are they hard to find?
RockynRalphie 2 years ago
You should put up a video of your signals in flash mode.

depends. new designs use low voltage lights and are going to HID LED lamps for less frequent replacements of lamps.
