  • GO BIG OR GO HOME. SWEET RIDE

  • Dick Sparrow would be proud of you! His Belgians were fine, but I like Percherons better!!! I just wish you had a video instead of stills. But this was really really great.

  • Das beste was im youtube zu finden ist :) echt der Hammer !!!

  • @Anikani100 Danke

  • Ooo wow

  • do u stear like normal???? those must be long rains'

  • @h88878 yes u do , yes they are , 135 feet each

  • amazig congratulaitions fron panama realy good challenge

  • @thoorblood thanks

  • So..many..pretty perches!

  • Wow...thats all I can say. I'm amazed. How long does it take you to hitch up 46 horses??? :)

  • @horsedaydreamer well if we just hook and no chatting about 15 min

  • @hitchmasters Oh wow, thats quick. lol

  • so much power

  • @Brummfussel thanks again, yes team work is how we do it

  • Better chance of spooking a wall! That's good. With a team like that who'd need a locomotive. Beautiful, just beautiful. You must go through allot of saddle soap, eh?! Haha. Love all your vids. Thanks for all the smiles you give me! Carrots all around!

  • Is 46 more horses than the amount of mules in the Borax team?

What happens when they get thirsty... how do you water 46 horses... drive up in a water truck???

  • @Chuichupachichi yes it is, 26 more than the Borax team, we water them before we hook them up then and after they are done, no need to water in between , Have u worked horses?

  • @hitchmasters

No, are you kidding... I'm a city boy. I just think horses are beautiful except for when they're lacking an engine & two wheels because no matter how hard I try, I always manage to progressively bounce to one side or the other until I'm tilted diagonally

But they're still fun... if they're well trained. I just get a protest from my blistered hand after holding on tight to the saddle horn

  • @hitchmasters

The only time I've been able to stay upright was when the horses were Cadillacs. I know a father & son that both train Peruvian Walkers. It makes it easy to ride when the horses have luxury smooth-ride, air-bag suspension systems

I like your videos though...with the big teams of horses. Those trainers I know, once took us out to the ranch here in Calif where they keep the Budweiser Clydesdales, the red wagon & the old, arthritic Dalmatians retired from commercials... gentle giants

  • Amazing! It would be some mess if something spooked them!

  • @sarah11856 why??? professionally trained horses driven by a professional, u have a bigger chance of spooking a wall!!

  • @hitchmasters I was just speaking hypothetically, I doubt theres a chance any of those horses would spook, obviously thats why they are being used! Awesome horses, and awesome work!

  • How long did it take you to hitch them all up?

  • What can you say?? Hats off to the master!!!

  • @cowpoke1000 , thank you

  • Wow! Thats amazing.

  • @MatildeBrandt , thank u

  • OMG!!! That was fantastic :))

  • do you guys no eney boady in iowa? my scince teachers dad use to have the 48 horse team

  • @mulefarms nope, never heard of a 48 team, theres a video of two guys driving 24 and they call it a 48 but its two teams,

  • Very impressive.

But really, how long does it take to harness 48 percherons? :)

Are the lines hard to control? I mean, are the horses quick to respond?

PS: whats the song and who is it by?

  • @CravesGreys21 no not hard at all, a oull of 12" would turn them , if i say who it is i might get flaged again,

  • that's pretty sweet! Some day when i get out of college I look forward to training a team and hopefully doing some farming with them, too. I'd imagine it's a little harder for a smaller girl, but I'll give it a try! Thanks for the inspiration. :)

  • @Georgia4God Get smaller horses :)

  • @Kenzofeis NO bigger is always better, ha ha ha

  • nice man how many horses do you have ??

  • @asprire7715 last count was 37

  • @hitchmasters holy must be a hefty vet and feed bill :P and awesome video would love to see this in real life

  • I Like this a lot. it is beyond amazing to me. i like how you guys were using your horses instead of some modern machine. you do it using real horse power.

  • how much pressure was on the reins?

  • @SpeedbeetleV2 well they ran to the lead 4 so the same as 4

  • @hitchmasters oh ok that makes sense

  • O.o

  • Holy crap, that is awesome!

  • I'm curious, where is the pair hitched? Because it looks to be four abreast front to back (Though I could be wrong?) and that would be either 44 or 48...

Not matter the number, however, what an amazing, insane set up! I take long enough just tacking up my one horse, let alone near fifty in harness!

  • @xeriwinged we did a practise the night before with 44 and then the next morning we hook 46, one row of six two rows from the wheel,

  • @hitchmasters u can see it in pic at 0;38

  • @xeriwinged there was a row of 6 at the back

  • @BlackFairyHorses whoever has to hitch them? I feel sorry for those who havent hitch them

  • Wow, it must have sounded like thunder.

  • Hey! Cool Video! I am looking at leasing a Percheron... How have you found them to work with?

  • @zandcmesa well for me there are two kinds Percherons and then there are just horses

  • the combination of seeing 46 horses hitched together, and the background music gives me intense chills! Nicely Done!

  • i bet those are some Seriously long reins! That must be an adrenaline rush driving so many powerful horses

  • 145 feet to the end, 135 feet from my hands to the leaders

  • @gryphonkeen 135 ' from my hands to the leaders

  • How long does it take to get them all hitched up?

  • @LarissaJo 20 mins

  • Amazing horses! I bet the ground shook like thunder. And the power felts in those lines....wow!

  • the percheron it's french horse, i live near county of Perche , where percheron's breed was born. Great movie. Vive la France !!

  • This is an absolutely incredible sight - never seen so many horses strung together! Where do you keep all these animals - you must have a lot of stabling and also a lot of work keeping them mucked out.

  • Breathtaking!

  • thanks

  • depuis la France, superbe, bravo, super

  • merci

  • Wow i'm 12 but i can barley drive my 8 Horse hitch i normally just drive my 6 belgians!!

  • keep going it gets easyer

  • how are the crops looking up there all we need is sokme sun and heet a for the big white combine to miss us

  • We have drought until 3 weeks a go now the crops are toast and the hay is so short U have to yell Boo the cut like mad!

  • This is Awsome, no lie. I saw a 40 horse pull on PBS it was a circus parade in Milwaukee Wisconsin. We raise horses and this is absolutly incredible. Where are you located?

  • Thats really awesome !

  • thanks it was a lot of fun

  • Thats so amazing!

  • Thanks glad you injoyed

  • Percherons are some big horses.

  • Our biggest way 18.2 hands high and weighed 2400lb

  • that was amazing i bet you had alot of fun!

  • Yes working with the Percheron's was the best, I loved every minute, But the people not so much, I made some real good friends for life but I lost a lot of respect for a few

  • This is AWESOME!!! I showed Percherons for about 13 years and am in the process of getting my judges card. The biggest hitch I ever drove was a 6 although tandem and unicorn were always more fun!! I am proud to see this hitch in black & white so to speak!! I was in the Great Circus Parade for years and only ever saw the 40 horse in brown. So to see a 46 in black and white is pretty cool. This is definately a site to see!

  • thanks, say check out my home page by clicking on the lttle bue ( hitchmasters ) Icon at the bottom of my videos and see my 6 and 8 horse hitch doing demo drives

    Neil

  • i just learned how to do 4 horse hitch (But i'm only 11 so..) I had to use 2 reins in each hand so how did you use only one rein for like single cart hitch????

  • Well I was your age when I started to drive hitchs, so keep it up! in real big hitches we use buck backs, its a strap that runs from each side of the horses mouth up over there backs then a strap goes from that one down in to the evener so they cant get to far ahead

  • Thanks so much!!! And how many horses do you have and are they all prechrons? I have 9 belgians and 2 clysdales!!!

  • I just sold some colts and a few teams so I am down to 44 head.

  • Wow Neil!!!! That was awesome! you're one of the few in this world that could do something like this! WOW that is something!!!!!! Great jod!!!!! Beautiful Horses too!

  • it was a lot of fun!!

  • its a wonder to behold you should be proud

  • Why thank you

  • who sings this song

  • local Boy Paul Brandt

  • WOW!...i own six percheron draft horses.I love them. They are gentle giants.I cant wait to show my dad this video!lol....hell probably be mad he wasnt the first one to do this hehe=Dthey are beautiful! are they all yours?

  • no 18 were mine and most of the rest I trained for others

  • WOW!

  • are you ever gonna try it again neil? if you do let me know!! :-)

  • We do a smaller one every year at the farm, but moneys to tight to do a real big one in town

  • To see that many Percheron's hitched together is absolutely magnificent!

I would never have the guts ( or driving ability ) to do this!

    Its amazing!

  • Hi it's mee agin how did you drive 46 horse with only to lines/rains? When i drive 4 horse hitch i need to lines in each hand so 4 total! (i'm 11)

  • In word, Buckbacks, if you look you can see them, they run from the bit over there backs down to the hitch, plus they are tied ahead

  • Thats really cool. I hope when I get older I can do somethin like this.

  • I hope you do to

  • thats truly an honor to see this sir!

    congrats 46 horses! amazing!

  • Why thank you!

  • Wow ! Congratulations, 46 horses ! I know somebody who hitch fourteen Clydesdale and it's a lot ! It is really nice to see your hitch. I have draft horses me to and I learn to become a good driver for the fair next years. I watched some of your video and I think that shows that the horse driving is a very nice discipline too often forgotten. Excuse me for my English, it's not perfect, I speak in French normally, I come from Quebec !

  • Why thank you!!! Its a lot of fun as well, if your ever out west stop in.

    Neil

  • je trouve le film genial mais de qui est la musique ?

  • In English please

  • local Boy Paul Brandt

  • You put those Budwiser Clydes to SHAME!!! You get it done Neil!! Great video, pictures and song. It made me tear up a little. What an amazing job!!

I don't even want to know how much you spend on harnesses!!! I paid $800-1,000 for 1 harness and that was just a normal non-spotted harness in beta. 46 x's that...!!!! WoW!!!! Stunning site to see all those big boys hooked up and plowing up 40 acres... Stunning.

  • super!*****:)

  • Well I have driven horses for more than 30 years and big hitches are my hobby.

    Neil

  • I really love seeing that people out there still farm with their animals. There isn't anything quite as "green" as plowing a field with an animal that's fertilizing it at the same time :) Great video and what a team!
