  • You rock mark..i don't see many males on here talking about their surgery and i appreciate your updates..i am a male going in for lapband surgery in sept and cant wait

  • Hi Mark, I've been approved for surgery and I've been watching lots of videos, especially yours. My Dr. seems reluctant at GSS and is recommending GBS but, I don't want the symptoms like dumping and choking that friends of mine still go through after thier GBS's. I feel that GSS would be better for me but now I wonder if I should look for a Dr. with more Sleeve surgery experience. Any thoughts on that? Also, have you had much hair loss? You seem to have plenty of hair, unlike my GBS friends!

  • @roadyrider The sleeve is an option to look into, but it really comes down to whats best for you. his is something that you should talk with your Dr. about. I had no hair loss after surgery. I owe that to proper nutrition after surgery and that there is no malabsorption of vitamins with the sleeve

  • I just found you here when I opened YouTube to look for something regarding my home-based business. I've been struggling with weight and decided to finally do something about it. You are awesome and I decided to subscribe to your page as inspiration. Your story really touched my heart. I can't wait to become healthy and strong. Thanks!

  • gahhh man how much weight have you lost

  • @BH2880 335lbs overall.....about 280lbs since surgery

  • You look wonderful keep up the great work. And don't be a strnger to us on YT

  • hello, its been a while since we talked, i was denied for the sleeve and have been in appeal finally won with an independent medical review, thankfully i need anti-inflammatory meds, so surgery tomorrow morning, 5/28 so i'm watching my favorites preop and surgery videos, so i just wanted to share my news, i've kept up with you and you are doing great,, keep up the good work, wish me well, thanks jeanispond to this video...

  • Since you're pretty much settled down weight-wise, what do you eat now, amounts and how often?

  • Way to go on the weight loss and maintaining. Great update! Congrats on the great news...that is fabulous!

  • WOW Mark, I have not -watched videos in a LONG time, If I didnt know who you were or recognizd your voice I wouldnt have known this was actually you in the video. Looks and sounds like you are doing wonderful. Im so happy for you! Congratz on the invite to that team. Sounds like a wonderful program.

  • (part 3/3) I've been doing research on post-op nutrition, supplements, what works/doesn't work as far as eating and watching video diaries. I even saw a surgical video of the procedure with commentary and the doctor says it takes an average of 50 minutes I think. I'm thinking of doing video diaries too, but not sure if I want to. Take it easy and keep us updated.

  • (part 2)

I wish there was a class like you are talking about in this area. The lady at the VA called and referred me to a bariatric support group for post-op, but I'm going to check it out pre-op. Also, I have noticed that someone makes the "protein bullets" as much as 42 grams of protein now. It would be a great option to use, epsecially in the liquid-only phases after surgery.

  • Cool update...about time. 3.85 gpa? Slacker...lol...j/k.

Nice to see things still going well. Myself, I have 3 weeks of nutrition classes left ast the VA (MOVE program) and everything else is cleared so after the classes I'm eligible for the VSG. The MOVE program has nothing to do with surgery, but it's "required" and it's 99% of info we already know. We know what calories are, how to read labels, blah, blah blah...it's how to change habits I'm terrible at.

  • It was so great seeing a video from you! You are doing amazing!! Great job Mark! Some exciting things happening for you right now. :)

  • Very cool offer! As I was watching your update, I got some inspiration to do something completely different with my new life (post op). I remember wanting to be a gym teacher back in high school. Didn't happen. I work in IT. But maybe I could do something with nutrition and exercise now. I've been complaining I'm bored with my current work situation. Theres excitement running through my blood. This could be the something different I need! Very cool for you and definitely keep us posted!!

  • Wow long time| glad ur doin good ;)

  • great to see an update from you Mark! good luck in your venture! amazing where this journey can take you, right?

  • Mark, I am SERIOUSLY happy for you! Seems like you're TOTALLY enjoying life. And you have been given an awesome opportunity! You're gonna take it and SOAR! You'll do amazing! Congrats! Keep up the great work! I miss your videos still!! :) ♥

  • your big news is GREAT !! what a fun thing to do. the plus is you also stay connected with the up to date stuff yourself. you will be great on the team. they are lucky to have you aboard. will the deals be taped?? on yt?? waves~~ ps youve been gone a long time...im down 130 myself with a looong way to go.

  • @crosspecans 130lbs is awesome!! Congratulations on your progress!! I know that its not easy at times...but it sure is worth it! Thanks for your kind words and your support =)

  • Welcome back! LOL cool that you are maintaining your loss. I wish I could get into something like nutrition for post WLS too. Would be great fun.

  • @maryposa1978 Thanks for the warm welcome! are you following a plan now? I'd love to hear what you're doing with your nutrition.

  • @mark45acp before WLS I used a controlled carb (low net carb) diet to lose 70-80lb. I have metabolic challenges so I also used portion control. My search for something that works and what was wrong with my metabolism led me to much study about hormones, how the body works, and nutrition. Right now I chose to stick with full liquids and always low carb. I figure I will take advantage of the time I am not wanting solid food.
