  • Nothing is more Hollywood than a good section of french horns

  • Love it

  • :) awesome work as always,.

would love to hear how JP fanfare would sound like with this one,.

  • Hey J.D.

From a fellow composer/producer... I Love your stuff...great touch. What OS are you using? I'm considering Hollywood Bundle, but have an IMac 10.5.8 with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core Duo w/8 GB of Ram. Do you think that's powerful enough for that software. Can't seem to get info from Sounds-Online.

    Thanks,

    Greg

  • @Themusicguru55 Thanks! I'm using Mac Pro with 12 Gb of RAM, 3.22 Ghz Quad core-yours should be enough to run both libraries, I was able to fully run HS on a 4GB Imac.

  • lets say i would buy this w.e, it would work with fl studio right?

  • does anyone use this with an EWI

  • YAY for Hook! lol sorry....

    thanks for doing the demo!

  • is this the Diamond or Gold version? (16 or 24 bits?)

  • @RLCH26 Diamond

  • Your piece at the end is on the demo page! :D Congrats!

  • Hey! the piece at the end of this demo, made it onto the demos page on the official hollywood brass website!!! congrats!!

  • @jdercomposer At first, I thought you were joking when you said the woodwinds were from HollyWoodwinds, but then i found the website for the samples. They sound REALLY good? Do they require a lot of processing and effects (i.e. reverb, compression) or do they sound good out of the box like the EastWest samples?

  • Great work! Sounds awesommmme!

  • did you mean to use the beginning of Fanfare for the Common Man on the 3 trumpet patch?

and i suppose i don't fully understand what this program actually is. is this a library of brass sounds that can be used with any composing software (say, Finale), or does it only work with the program in this video?

  • @IceCreamIslander Yup, I did Fanfare for the Common Man in order to illustrate a comparison between the real and sampled trumpets. It's a library of brass sounds that works with programs like finale, but it works better in DAWS such as Logic or Cubase.

  • Fantastic work, J.D! I just bought Hollywood Brass as well and will probably upload some videos soon! Looking forward to Hollywood Woodwinds and Percussion. :)

  • Where did you purchase this? I can't find it anywhere on guitar center, or musicians friend! Did you buy it direct?

  • @philconey I bought it from Sounds Online (direct retailer)

  • Btw - what winds are you using for those runs??

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, that final demo sounds GREAT! HB is definitely on my future purchase list. :D

  • can i use this in a video im making it sets the mood perfect

  • very excellent :) :) Thank you for heading to this choice for my future purchase.

    nice stuff.cheers :)

  • Yes, thank you ! I was waiting for an official demo on Soundonline, but this is great too ! (except for the microphone ...)

Sounds really amazing ! And you're mac is really fast, even with the size of this library. What are it's specifications ?

Thanks again ! Can't wait to hear your next tracks with this library ! :P

  • Which are the woodwinds samples you've used already?

  • @Tbop3 I think they are from EWQLSO.

  • @BillieNat Can't recognized them so far.

  • @Tbop3 Woodwinds are from HollyWoodwinds

  • @jdrcomposer Indeed. I should have recognized them earlier. Cheers :)

  • Great demo. Love the composition at the end, well done!

  • I need a new computer :(

  • which insturment is this? French horn?

  • Ah you finally bought it ^^

    sounds amazing!

  • Brilliant and informative video, very well done.

I loved how you were so humble about that last demo at the end, it was fantastic!!

  • Oh thanks man! I'v been waiting for demos.

  • Great!!!!

    Thank you a lot :)

Can users use keyswitch with all articulation of Horn in one channel? Beuase it will help us to improvise a lot.

  • @wish910 Keyswitches will be in the next update-for now, the shorts MOD patches are a great improvising tool.

  • @jdrcomposer Forget the keyswitches. Come on! They are clumsy to use. Please make patches where mod-wheel controls dynamics, velocity controls patches (short, med-marc, long-marc etc) and sustain pedal gives us sustain / legato, just like in CB. Also give us auto speed sensor in legato patches. When playing fast I'll get run articulations. We want to play, not have over 50 midi channels and keyswitches. But anyways, great sound and wonderful demo! :)

  • @jdrcomposer Thank you a lot for quick. I am a student studying in music part of college and think your demo in this Video is very fantastic. The brass band sound alive!!

I hope the keyswitches of Hollywood Brass include all the petches and let users to select which they want to use. All articulations in one channel is very important. :)

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • Haha yeah I know what you mean cause I was like wait I know this. BTW if you dont mind telling me where do you find jobs for indie films?

  • @thepianolovingman People contact me through youtube, or I just happen to meet people who are interested in filmmaking.

  • Haha the piece at the end you use John Williams themes from Flight To Neverland :p

  • @thepianolovingman Not exactly note for note, but I sure wouldn't sell it as my own piece :D

  • @jdrcomposer lol, i know im there going. Love Hook much?

  • How do you get the money to buy all this stuff?

  • @thepianolovingman Jazz gigs and composing for indie films

  • Could you please do another video demo for Hollywood Strings and/or EWQLSO? They're very expensive and I'd love to see how they work before I go ahead and buy either; though I know that they are very good, I want to know how good and how I can use them.

  • I've been sooo waiting to hear this library! And wow it sounds amazing!
