  • General Santos City? I think they need to change it to Pacquio City! Get ready for the Global shift in consciousness in 2012. One World, One Love. Go Manny and the People's Power Movement!

  • Correction - General Santos is an INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

  • ganda ng sound...miss u gensan!!!!!see u soon!!

  • this aircraft is also used for MNL-HNL flights.

  • can i ask if asan banda ito sa gensan??????????

  • @aimycl89 gensan airport sa tambler

  • @tomatodish

    ohh..okiee...

    tnxx..

dugay naku la kauli dra ui..

  • philippines or pilipinas

Haha, sosyal. (No offense to PAL)

  • Gensan is a nice place but I am looking forward for more development in the airport. GEnsan is the gateway of the south. I hope they will do something about it. SAna pagbalik ko sa gensan, my progress na sa International Airport like Incheon INternational Airport.

  • I hope that with the new city government's vision of "Global GenSan" there will be much more developments that will take place in Mindanao's biggest international airport. It is about time for GenSan to become the gateway of the island of Mindanao to the rest of the world. Magandang GenSan!

  • It is General Santos International Airport. When the airport construction was finished way back in the early 90's it wasn't yet categorized as international until recently. I have no idea why the ATO chief there didn't even bother to update the signage indicating "General Santos Airport" on the airport's terminal building. There was once a regular flight from GenSan to Manado, Indonesia by Merpati Nusantara Airlines of Indonesia but has to halt due to poor loads.

  • PAL uses A340 most of the time on its MNL-GES-MNL route. I hope PAL will soon start having evening flights to Gen. Santos International Airport.

  • Correction. General Santos Airport has actually the longest runway in the Philippines. It was funded by the Americans and it can even accomodate not only an A380, but the Space Shuttle as well.

  • ahh airbus a330

  • If the Gen San Airport is classified as International, why aren't they using airbridges??

  • i miss gensan,,grabeeeeeeeee.....

  • I don't know why PAL uses an A340 to General Santos. An A320 is already like, good enough, and increase the services to twice daily. But I gues because of the situation in Mindanao, they just had to maximize the flights.

BTW I'm travelling to Gensan so, I'm concerned

  • It is because the A320 cannot take the large amount of cargo transported from Gen San to Manila.

  • It would cost PAL so much if they will deploy 2 Airbus 320's in a separate schedule.

  • there is a budget for modernization of this airport to the tune of 121 million sana may tube at palawakin pa ang airport building.

  • oh really? naku sana wag ibulsa ung budget na yan...

  • tlaga?kelan dw?

  • mingaw ko sa gensan oi...

  • nice an A330 buti pa kayo mga gen san city residents hondi katulad dito sa zamboanga

  • i got bumped to first class on either going to or leaving gen san. only first class i ever got. it was very nice.

  • it's business class. mabuhay class is business class not first class.

  • sorry. i don't fly much. i just really enjoyed the whole philippine experience.

  • and ecolight...

  • is that PAL's A330 or not???

  • it's PAL a340-300.watch my video..

  • oo, ngapla, sir c bayani fernando plaun..

  • that's right.

  • Sir merun pba flight ung airphilippines, sa Gensan..nd kya cla malulugi jan?3 ung flight ng cebu..

  • wala na yata. i'm not very sure though.

  • Sir, what you mean?Cebu pacific has 3 flight's everyday?manila to gensan-gensan to manila?so dalawa na yan?tpos..cebu to gensan=gensan to cebu?

  • yup. at the time, i was informed that cebu pac flies three times to and from gensan: twice with the MNL-GES-MNL route, and once with the CEB-GES-CEB route.

  • cebu pacific has 2 flights MNL-GES-MNL.. 1st flight leaving MNL 7am and the 2nd flight leaves MNL after lunch... there is also another flight routing CEB-GES-CEB... there are also another airline co. w/c plans to fly to GES but didn't commence flight as of this time...

  • Sir, cnu ung sinalobong nila?mukhang Kilala ah..

  • it was none other than the chairman of the MMDA, mr bayani fernando.

  • .uhm..yes philippine airline is good..every year im riding PAL.also air philippines, since im 2 years old and now im 14...coz my parents is in abroad,...heheheh..NO..it's not INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT..it's only General Santos Airport...:).....i know that....voz yearly im riding PAL

  • wala na yatang air phils na flight.

  • yup..yup... air phils flight MNL-GES-MNL via CEBU has been replaced with PAL express but still using the same flight number... it's code share flight between PAL express and airphils..

  • what do you mean?Pal EXPRESS NA?what the diff.betwen, pal exp.and PAL?

  • PAL express is a subsidiary of PAL. its their low cost version of PAL. PAL express flies to areas with small airports (like caticlan) which cannot handle wide bodied aircraft and to cities with small number of passenger like the cebu-gensan route...

    PAL's A340 has daily flights MNL-GES...

  • ok thank you.but they always use PAL a340-300.and i dont see PAL express, in gensan..

  • its an a330.. a330 has 2 engines.. a a340 has 4 smaller engines

  • PAL also utilizes an A340 to GenSan.

  • It's GENERAL SANTOS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT as classified by the CAAP........... Check their official website... The country only have 10 airports classified as INTERNATIONAL....

  • before....but now, idon't think GenSan airport has international flight...its only domestic...btw..give me the link so that i can see..

  • @karedward @karedward

The serviceability and runway length are the major criteria to consider an airport international or domestic.

It is classified as an international airport due to its ability to service wide bodied aircrafts and is recognized internationally. its 3.2km runway is the third longest in the philippines after NAIA 06/24 and Mactan-Cebu 04/22. the land area is the second largest in the philippines, saving it for future airport widening and development.

  • @czardom91 lol. you just copy it from wikipedia.. ya we know that.BUT my point is they dont have international flight as of know

  • @karedward

i didnt copy it from wiki. ive been taking pal flights since grade school in that airport to naia and back. now in davao.

  • @czardom91 owhh. yes me too. since kindergarten i guess,(coz my parents are working abroad). until now am turning to 4thyear highschool.

  • @czardom91 from air phils. to pal. lol. anyways not just kindergarten, maybe 2-4yrs old like that..

  • @czardom91 Now***

  • @czardom91 ya......... 599.something..hectares..hehhe

  • it's classified by CAAP as General Santos International Airport. No international flights as of the moment after Merpati terminated it's GenSan-Manado service.

  • very nice video.. been to the same airport in 1988 twice from cebu on PAL's Fokker 50.. the airport terminal was yet very small.. good to see A330-300 flying to GES. my family and i are flying the same aircraft on our trip next month to LAX from NRT....

  • oh, that was a long time ago. this airport and airstrip are both new. less than a decade old, i think. the old airstrip has since been abandoned and decommissioned. i'll check wiki to see how old/new this airport is. as you can see, it's very far from the city, and is surrounded by nothing but greens and hills. :D

  • Philippine airlines uses A319,A320,A330,A340,B747 on GenSan Flights..

then PAL express from cebu uses Q400...

hehe!! but mostly Philippine airlines uses A330 on its flights..

  • i guess it really depends on the season and the need for cargo space. i've flown into and out of gensan about 6 times already, and once i was on an A320. all other times, it was always an A330.

  • hey are your flight full ?

  • not at all. in fact, i would say less than 2/3 of the seats were occupied. many of the middle seats were vacant, and i had no seatmate. i think this is only the case with PAL because they send their wide-bodied planes to accommodate the cargo. but not that many people are flying, although Cebu Pac does have 2 flights everyday.

  • You forgot "International" Its General Santos INTERNATIONAL Airport (RPMR)

  • i actually read somewhere that it's an international airport, although you will have to agree with me that the signs at the terminal only state "General Santos City Airport". i have photos of it as well. thanks though for viewing.
