keith andes was in star trek episode called 'the apple'...skip homeir was in the episode called 'patterns of force' in season 2... then, ther's good ole scotty...
Any struggling actors will take on roles to build resumes, and usually for less than union wage. twilight zone had many of the same people, as did alfred hitchcock
Scotty without the scottish accent. I read where he hated playing Scotty as nobody wanted him thinking his accent was real. Wonder if he felt otherwise after ST became a cult classic.
Nimoy was afraid of being typecast as mr. spock so he asked his friend vic morrow ,vic said if they make you up so you wont be recognized you wont be typecast .
Nimoy didn't look much different in real life than he did on Star Trek. Budget constrants dictated make-up & costumes. I read, the Vulcans were supposed to be mermen, but all they could aford was pointed ears NOT fishy features. The fishman 1st officer had to wait for Tim Allens spoof on ST in the 90's.
I'm glad they didn't have all that cheesy makeup. The pointed ears were sufficient. Modern SciFi sucks, because it's all effects and cgi visuals and no stories.
It's interesting how two of the actors in this Outer Limits episode were to take stage again in the original Star Trek episode where there is a war between the villagers and the hillspeople. That's the one with the witch-woman who heals Capt. Kirk's potentially deadly wound which he aquired in his conflict with an ape like monster, the Klingon involvement in their clandestine operation which supplied the villagers with flintlocks and so on...
The ape episode isnt the keith andes episode [thats the nancy kovacs episode] keith andes is the guy that says we are the servants of vhal the giant head.skip homier looks for planet eden in one and is a nazi in another.
Just to add to spacepatrolman comment.Your thinking of Michael Witney who played Tyree leader of the hill people who was married to the model Twiggy . He died from a heart attack in 1983 at the age of 52.
Yes, it does remind me of Tim Leary, Richard Alpert and the psychedelic experiments which were held at Harvard University. There is even a mention of a similar incident in this Outer Limits episode. I forget the name of the Vincent Price movie which had him inject some LSD iv. When it comes to the unknown, people tend to be irrationally xenophobic and allow their imaginations to get the best of them. It's reefer madness all over again!
lol 8:16 who called the Ghostbusters? :)
