  • Beautiful.

  • Hi

I am writing a huge text about the revitalisation of Detroit ( I am a German Student) an d I wanted to ask if some of you know a few good sources, because I only find things about the Ren-Cen but I want to know more about the "HeidelbergProjekt" and things like that. I would be verry happy if some-one can poste me some links( would be perfekt if they were German, but I think I also understand the English ones.)

(And I hope you can understand/read my english ) Thanks in advance!

  • I love this city. Motown, it's like my second town. Lived in Redford for four years now as I attended UMICH, but spent most of my not-reading time in the D. So, I will move to Detroit in a two-three years time, with my gf. Do anybody know about a oK area in Detroit for a small family?

I see so much potential in this city, have been to 38 states and like all the big US cities, but there ain't a place like the D.. I hope I can help with some of the rebuilding, and love this vid ! from Norway :)

  • Gentrification is happening there as we speak. Good? In Detroits case, probably a very good thing. Because the new mayor (the Anti-Kwame) has a much different philosophy than Detroits past Mayors, Detroit will improve under his leadership and will move forward, (the IT industry is very interested in Detroit) unlike the other mayors who just ignored the city and their responsibilty, just happy being mayor and city council members.

  • HiedelbergProject Wow ! Janine, this man is a flake! Mess maker? Yes an extravagant mess he can make. But I like it! Hey, Tyree, I been wanting to ask you no disrespect. Did you or Grandpa Mackey get this idea from that episode of Sanford and Son.

  • 'the subconscience took over the conscience and I found my self in space' I love it :) I miss the D. I'll be back one day to fight the powers that be.

  • found this via vbs . tv. gotta say this project is AMAZING! it gives me so much just looking at pics and/or vids! and im really happy to see that it gets attention. if i can afford it i will deffinately go to detroid in the next years to check out all the new artsy stuff thats going on there.

    greets

  • Detroit WILL make a comeback and you have done very LARGE thing for the city.

You know, after I saw this video, I went to a site called LOVELAND and bought 5 INCHES of land in inner-city Detroit. It's only $1 buck an inch and the proceeds go to community rebuilding.

The next thing I'm going to do is come from Canada down to Detroit for a weekend and check out your street. That brings tourism dollars to the city. And friendly people who want to share ideas.

    Well done!

  • @nattituder You should visit during our August 14th DOTS: Dancin' On The Street festival!

  • @HeidelbergProject

  • Makes me think of the abode of chaos, in France (but less black).

  • @carminelr but less black? You are a dumb piece of shit!

  • @carminelr but less black? You are a dumb piece of shit

  • @bigtown : :-)

  • @carminelr ART IS ART, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE, YOU CULTURAL MORON.

  • @bigtown : Aow, ok, my bad ! Il meant “black” in the sense of “dark”, not in a racial way… Like in “black metal”, you see ? Have a look at the abode of chaos website.

    Regards

  • @carminelr I'm not racially sensitive, really. But you do understand my reaction, since it wasn't explained what you meant initially. My apolgies to you for the insult.

  • @bigtown : you're welcome, I'm not shure myself to keep my calm in such a situation ;-)

But happy to have made my words a little bit more clear. Thanks !

  • All abandoned and run-down areas should be given the Heidelberg Touch.

  • This is absolutely the best one out about this extrodinary work!

  • i remember contributing as a kid. Tyree would often include kids from the neighborhood to help expose them to the art world. Thank you for helping to inspire me, Tyree.
