  • Very interesting!! And check out my 5-minute insert on BRENDAN (RODNEY show

from 1978). An old "Los Angeles Times" article noted that the punk scene opened

the way for FEMALE musicians as well, "highly visible punkettes playing everything

    from saxophones to drums".

  • We used to rehearse down their back in the day. My cousin used to jam with the Mau mau's.

  • fitting this open up with Big Johnny StingRay

  • I'm just devistated by this ...how can we have world without Brendan Mullen in it? I knew him well for almost 30 years and to think that I'll never hear that unique Scottish lilt of his again....God, my heart is absolutely breaking. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • @maxeythecat

I picked out the obituaries clipping from the Gaurdian on brendan mullen and it siad he grew up in stockport manchester ( Uk ) is that true /. i've been a round for some time and no one has heard of him here. ~We had claude bessy hear for some time. i still have the controllers single that some marxist-leninist twat stood on and did know the value of it to me ! never trust a stalinist !

  • Brendan Mullen was from Paisley Scotland...he might very well have spent some time in Manchester during his life, but he was a Scotsman thru and thru.

  • I was a friend of his brother Len and also met Brendan a few times (& for more than a few drinks) in Stockport

Len Mullen was a good runner (appearing on the beach scene in Chariots of Fire). Len stayed in Stockport for the rest of his life

They moved down from Scotland as children. As Brendan was the older brother he retained his strong Scots bur. Brendan spent his teenage years in Stockport, working as a trainee newspaper reporter trainee before moving to the States

  • Oh man...he was one of the highlights of "Decline" -- "The air in utopia is poisoned. The final joke." R.I.P. (Rest in punk).
