I was there, not you, I trained the pro, not you and the kid in the red was the only one that was able to spar with him that day NOT YOU. SO BEFORE YOU DO ANY MORE COMMENTS STEP IN TO THE RING.
@lmelendez65 prove it talk is cheap, u werent there and u dont knw shit about boxing, the so called pro looked serious to me, idk maybe u should watch it again. And just so you know anyone can be a pro, just cause ur a pro doesnt mean your good.
the pro is obviously just lettin the ameture get his shots off. why all the hate ? sparring is about learning tecnique and improving.. not killing each other because you dont learn anything from that !
@johntashable finally a dude with a working brain!! Thank you "johntashable", hopefully some day more people will understand this and leave the ego at the door^^
they are just sparring... when you spar you are trying to develope each other not knock each other out, the pro was letting the kid get some work in damn.
to the dude in red u did pretty good, but u need to learn how to counter jabs, when he throws 3 jabs and keeps doing it time it, just before it comes counter over the top of his jab with a right cross, no idiot should be throwing 5 jabs combos if hes professional fuck next time that idiot keeps doing that to u counter his jab with a right cross over the top straight to his chin
@51iohC just because ur pro doesnt make u good, anyone can be a pro thats old enough and had basic training, but he out weights the little guy im sure, the big guy sucks
@xlilnetx Hey What do You know about Boxing? the kid in the red was 165 lbs the pro was 148 lbs. this was like 4 years ago. but I will like to see you sparing with the pro by the way he is retired
@lmelendez65 how the fuck would u know how much he weights shut up, if he was a pro he was a bum, whats his record and dont tell me 15-0 or somthing like that cus he sure looks and fights like a bum.
@xlilnetx you're right one has to do smth. about that jab, but this fellow jabs so fast, you must be lucky to cross that one. For the beginning it's better to counter to the body with the left or simply move the head.
@Quicsaipontes . For sure! the guy in the grey shirt is way more relaxter , he got better movements at all and is controlling the other guy in every situation
yeah it's pretty clear the guy in grey is the pro. ur good tho for a new amateur boxer. just use a little more head movement and use some feints and you'll be better. and don't use so much aimless movin around in the ring cuz that just wastes a lot of energy. good job tho, both of u are tough
lol, racist? really? the guy in the grey shirt was chillin, the moment he turned it up a bit, he tagged the guy in red, like with the right hand and when he shot to the body.
The boxing ring look ghetto lol but good work both or you black was the pro like duh boy the other dude did good to tho you can see he not no bitch I love boxing and have nothing but respect for the ones who really go hard and out the work in keep it up both of u
@Iowfatcheese More to expose holes in defence and technique. If a jab or hook slips through whats the point of hitting someone hard, just make sure the person is aware of the mistake and rectifies it.
Wow you're really good. I had my first sparring session this week, and my main problem is I don't use my back hand as much because I'm too anxious about closing in. I occasionally threw in a left cross (I'm southpaw) and just jabbed with my right hand. And the person I was facing was more of a pressure fighter so he kept chasing me around the ring, and sometimes I'd just curl up until I remember to move out or pivot. Do you have any tips that might benefit me? Thanks, and nice video :)
@zmalik10 im not a very experienced fighter, im sparring for the first time tomorrow, but if he keeps pushing you back off and change your angles a lot, keep him off with your jab and set him up for the back hand
@zmalik10 i have the same problem, i walk back to much and basically only use my left jab and like never my right, if you get any advice or tips, could you please pass them on?
@mpssucks5hit Hey, after a few sparring sessions you'll start to get used to it. I did. It just comes with confidence. Curling up isn't an issue with me. It's normal the first few times, but afterwards you'll start to think more tactically. Rather than just curling up and becoming a sitting duck, use your feet. If you find yourself cornered up against the ropes then just throw an uppercut when he's dropped his hands to punch and then pivot out. Hope I helped. Good luck :)
a little more head movement, and dont come back to the same spot after you throw your jab, and dig your feet in a little more on your hooks, other than that good job man!! you have talent for sure
@Chaowdur just look how he's dodging punches,i think its kinda easy,if u dodge the first one u can dodge the whole combo by some strange evasive movements xd,in my case it works when i sparrat boxing in muay thai i cant risk it xd
@Comingtoyaaahaaa hey man, good fight, you guys both looked even, he has good head movement which u need to improve and you have good hooks and uppercuts. He looked like all he mostly used was jabs and crosses and u kept missing with your jabs and crosses. You should try fighting more like how Mike Tyson fighted, he would sorta chase his opponent down and really get in close and throw hooks/uppercuts. Oh yeah How long have you been training boxing for and how long Sparring? Thanks.
Haha, the one in the red was doing good at the start, but then the pro started to make him look silly, nonetheless, both great boxers and props for going against a pro.
Got a question. Is the pro wearing heavier gloves?
PS: It's frustrating and nice at the same time to know that the pro's are that much better then you, even though you think your amazing against other amateurs :) I'd love to spar a pro once.
The novice did very well against the professional in this "controlled" sparring session. By "controlled" I mean the professional fighter did not follow up when he hurt the novice with a straight right hand. Novices improve by sparring with fighters who are better than they are, but the trainer of the novice needs the more experienced guy to work on his defense and footwork without trying to knock out
the novice. Twenty years ago I sparred with many NYC Golden Glove fighters at at a Bronx gym
! from 4:06 to 4:12. 4:12 is such a good shot... i love watching body focused punches land, unanswered... that was such a good punch i think! i love this video.. so much to watch for.
you can tell the difference only because of his bodywork. also he was pacing himself better, you could tell he was getting a bit stronger towards the end while you looked to be tiring slightly. you completely bossed the first round though, very slick with some nice combos. great work!
@Comingtoyaaahaaa i honestly thought you were the pro until i read this comment. your footwork is excellent! on balance and lots of angles/movement. really good work bro
@steven37c the only reason im asking is cause i have an overbite its not that bad but its to the point where i cant fit my mouthpeice correctly thats bullshit

@BoGuSknowsBeSt It's been 4months,so I suppose you had your first amateur match? How did it go? :D and how long did you train before having your first amateur boxing match?
@youngrichie don't you mean side to side movement. kindly correct me if i'm wrong isn't lateral movement forward and back. some one in my gym said it's forward and back.
@brandeezy108 I mean lateral movement as in he's too square on, (and yes that means side-to side). I have favourite loads of good boxing vids.Tell the guy in your gym that he doesn't know what he's talking about. lol
@brandeezy108 the guy in the black gloves is a very good counter puncher though. He waits for the lead then throws a perfect 1/2 1.33 This is a very good person to learn off in sparring. The only way to improve is to learn from ones mistakes.
The dude in the red should have fought on the inside using hooks and uppercuts. The guy in the grey had the reach advantage. Cool video, man. Keep it up!
You can't let him set the pace, once he got into his rythm you became a human punching bag for him. Good effort though, it seemed like a good learning experience.
haha... that whole gym is dangerous, there are swords, axes, and num chucks hanging from the red walls.. this is from 2008, we've moved to a bigger and better gym since then...
lol. hey kid grow up! you got some serious problem. or better yet go to a boxing gym and learned some boxing and them come and talk to me!!!!

Didn't see all those swords and axes before! Bet those metal posts helped fighters avoid getting stuck in corners when fight night arrived.
