not honestly expecting a reply here but we'll see what happens. ive struggled over the past year with guitar playing and it seems like when i sit down to practice i just play the same old stuff until i get bored. im stuck in the aeolian mode and mode and the same licks over and over. cant seem to get outa my little box. any help would be appreciated from doug or from anyone...thanks
@MrPhenomenal7 You posted this to another one of my videos. I answered your comment \there. In a nutshell, learn something new and the guitar will become new. Playing the same old thing will only bore you and make you lose interest. Check out the newsletters at the bottom of the metalmethod com home page. This one is for you "Motivation for Guitarists."
@johntgiles That's a great question. There's a link to my site right under the YouTube play button. Check out The Complete Basic Course. I have demonstrations like this video for each of the DVDs in the course. You'll find that my course teaches exactly what you want to learn.
I took some lessons from Doug in about 1983, when he was preparing the very first Metal Method cassettes and b/w booklets. He stressed to me in the first lesson to not ever play without being in tune. That may sound silly to some people, but to a beginner, it was priceless advice that has stuck with me until this day. Thanks DM... hvs
@HelmutVonSphincter Yep, I was getting top dollar. Above the pool in a bachelor apartment - no bedroom, the living room doubled as my lesson studio. That was twenty-eight years ago. I started selling my lessons from there in the rock fan magazines (Cream, Circus, and Hit Parader). Within a year I was living in a 3 level home in Woodland Hills also known as a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Good tips. Very much appreciated :D

Do you have a beginner soloing lesson? I've played for many years but do not feel comfortable in the spotlight playing solo

whats is the name of the song at the start?
ugcx 1 year ago
@ugcx The song is "Tell the Truth" from an album I released in the 80's. The name of the group was Hawk. There are a few Hawk videos on my channel.
