not true, a run if the mill evo16g or 50 trim is a good pump gas turbo. 35r's are race gas turbos, they dont come alive untill after 30 pounds of boost 37 38 psi and supporting mods will give you 600 hp. 450 is the most you will get on pump, with stock compression, you can get that with a evo 16g with 8.5:1 compession, or a 50 trim with stock compression easy.
my dsm with a evo 3 16g at 22 psi ina full weight dsm ran a 11.7 at 120 with a 1.8 60 and at 1590 feet above sea level thats with 94 pump and meth injection.
i have had the boost at 28 psi with 24degrese of timing with meth injection and 94 octane with 11.3 afr and a small amount of knock, i never got to race it at the track as its getting a new turbo now but im guessing i could have pulled off a 11.2 to a 11.5 easy as i could now spin in second and i could not before. the car felt almost twice as fast
What I could have done and did do are two different things. I ran an evo3 with meth for a while in stock appearing on stock motor. stock motor is 7.8-1. I went back to the track this year still on stock motor and ran 10.5 @ 135 on pump gas. You will never get that combination with an evo 3. Next year I will be out on a built motor finally.
How much would you say the 93 octane helped you?

Stock motor and head with arp studs & composite gasket, web546/547 cams, balance shafts removed, bosch 044, gt35r, dnp header, 3.5 exhaust, shep s4 w/quaife and 4spider, 4bolt, rps carbon-carbon, aem ems, pte650hp fmic
The web cams are similar to hks 272's but I'd recommend hks,fp2's,jun,briancrower.

Thats awesome man! gt35r's own. Proof right here. This is the next turbo Im gonna buy for my DSM. Right now, im running an Evo III "BIG" 16g.

30r or 35r both are great pump gas turbo's and capable of 500whp on pump gas.

a 16g will not produce 450. even 400 is pushing it. Mine did 356 at 24 psi and alot of heat. And the gt42 is a race turbo, 35r is streetable

that works out to about 400-430 whp i have never dynoed tho. keep in mind i have all supporting mods.
