We went to take a christmas picture by a lake and my baby bichon frise jumped into the pond haha :) His little webbed feet where so tired! He's 7 now :)
Nice video, your Bichon does a lot better job than mine does! When you put her in the pool she'll swim to the nearest person(whether in or out) and attempt to be picked up.
my bichon mix loves to swim! If she's at a new pool, you just have to stand by the stairs the first time so she knows how to get out, then she's all set for next time.
I didn't have to teach my bichon (Suzy). I was just swimming one time in the pool and I was pretending to drown to make my friends scared and Suzy actually thought I was drowning and actually jumped into the water and tried to save me. I LOVE YOU SUZ!!! =3
@michaelgwii My bichon hates water so much that she will not let you bathe her without being sedated first... she yelps and yelps when water touches her and will bite anyone that pours water on her... we've taken her to the vet about it, but she still hates water/baths. normally, though, she is the most lovable and sweet puppy just not when you put her near anything having to do with water.
o. someone should be in there with it. it looks as if it's nose could slip under anymoment. it doesnt take that long to breath in water, and drown. especially for a dog.

you don't "teach" them... they learn by themselves. it's a natural instinct. just put it on water and see them go!

We were right beside the pool. We wouldn't put it in risk at all. After that pool session he claimed for more.
