  • what really is the idea behind 4 link tho? do you get more flex what other things does it do performence wise?

  • what other types of rear live axle suspension are there apart from leaf spring, 4 link and ladder bar? do you know what the old 67 chevy c10s have? thank you

  • buy a land rover discovery...comes from factory w/ one :)

  • hey guys im working on a 89 ford ranger and i wanna tub it out, what suspension setup would work the best? should i keep my leaf spring and use those or should i use ladder bars, 4-link, triangulated 4-link? hope someone can help me!

  • Which somtware is this?

  • k mamada

  • usually thats called K-link..

4link: the bars are straight and its must have a panhard bar too..

  • the panhard bar addition would make it a 5 link

  • No..

whats the thing is called has alot too say where you from.. some people call this 4link a triangle 4Link..

people never counts the panhard bar..

if you se on a street car with 4link, it has panhard bar too.. its have 4 links forward and a panhard.. and that also is called 4link..

im building a one link suspension on my suzuki.. it has just one link and panhard..

  • @jonnis240 You need the panhard on the front so that it runs in phase with the drag link to prevent bump steer. Also a triangulated 4 link does not work well on the front due to the engine taking up space where the two centre links are mounted. 4 link is fine on the rear but a 5 link is better on the front.

  • It doesn't need a panhard. Lateral location of the axle is done by the trianglulation created by the two top links.

  • @jonnis240 A parallel 4 link that has an added panhard bar is a 5 link setup. This is a triangulated 4 link. lateral location of the axle is accomplished by the triangulation of the upper links. You CANNOT use a panhard par in a triangulated 4 link setup as binding would occur due to the axle trying to follow different paths between the panhard and the triangulated upper links.

  • @li7in6 Nah a parallel 4link is always a four link not a 5 link. A panhard bar or watts link does not make it a 5 link. Jus sayin. Cool video though.

  • very good

  • it doesnt, i just made it really quickly to show the idea behind a 4 link

  • nice but how does this model explain the side to side rotational articulation?

  • nice.

  • Yep.

  • Nice. Solidworks?
