  • @DBogo R

  • replace your glow plugs dude

  • just finished getting one of these motors running after sitting for 10 years... i personally do not like these motors at all a pain in the ass and a bad design in my opinion... but if it is something that someone likes then that is there choice and more power to them

  • people always complain about the 6.2 and the 6.5 but every one ive ever seen has over 2 hundred thousend dont see many strokers or cummins with that!!!!

  • @chavyman1000 lol look up the p stroke van with one million on it lmao

  • @chavyman1000 no you see cummins with 1.7 million miles with no rebuilds. lets see any chevy with any engine do that. what a dumbass.

  • those 6.2 were good back in the day

  • i like this video. he is wearing a dodge hat haha

  • Comment removed

  • the only thing GM could have done to make the 6.2 better was add a chain so you could use it as a boat anchor ha!

  • @cumminsISB59 6.2 is absolutely worthless, gotta have a good ole 5.9 cummins

  • @cumminsISB59 GM didn't make the 6.2, Detroit did.

  • 30Wt oil and 2 fresh batts.... HMMMMM Wonder where the salamander or charcoal pan was to heat up the oil and fuel????? explain!

  • gmc just wins!

  • Hey man nice rig. Where did you buy your stack and how much was it? I have an '86 6.2L and wanna run dual stacks on her.

  • you should do a video on the exhaust id like to stack my 6.2 but dont know where to start

  • This is probably a stupid question, but why are there two batteries?

  • @Zomgdevil you need alot of torque to start a 20 to 1 compression engine....

  • This comment suggest that you would do well at a "garbage company."

  • sounds like a international 1066

  • wehre the 6.2 and 6.5 still the 60 series detroits?

  • ya i know it is but they start up quicker and easier

  • From isuzu

  • Alright fellas that was my truck and that was me in the video, it don't need heads or headgaskets it's just friggin cold out, my hat yes I like dodges I have had 6 cummins, note the sweatshirt also, as for buying a powerjoke I have had two and probably won't buy another, as for the 6.2 being junk they are far from it the guy that said it's the worst diesel gm ever made is wrong the 5.7/4.3 were the worst diesels gm made, the duramax couldn't be what it is if gm did it alone they needed the help

  • get a ford and all ur worries will be over

  • @TheQuicktrix yea buy a ford so it blows up before it even starts. thats a real smart idea dumbass

  • why would you straight pipe an engine with no turbo? you need back pressure

  • that was probably the worst diesel gm ever made

  • @paulyd04 mine has 400,000 miles on it

  • spray some startin fuild then shell fire right away

  • @aclorah

Starting fluid is only a bad for diesel engine!!!

  • chevy and gmc suck they can fall apart in the winter.

  • he needs a new head it is bolwing white smoke

  • @dieselcummins1 Thats what happens when its cold outside.....

  • @dieselcummins1 well you see when you start a diesel when its really cold you tend to get white smoke now if if the engine was warm and white smoke was coming then maybe a new head gasket and probly head

  • Sounds like it needs new glowplugs, our 94' 7.3 Powerstroke flatbed cranks like that.

  • Darn u got the non turbo one

  • dude ur wearing the wrong fuckin hat!!

  • Its a wonderful sound when it finally catches and stays going! - A diesel that actually sounds like a diesel. VG.

  • but... I... don't... WANNA!

  • Might I just recommend a cummins

  • @mooseeify 6.2's are detroits, gotta love a detroit!!!!!!!!!

  • They need 2 batteries because they are harder 2 turn over, diesels are heavier, and stronger than gas engines therefore harder to start

  • @hell4lyfe22 No they don't I have a 12 valve cummins in a first gen dodge, and I have a single battery and that bitch starts everytime

  • why do diesels need 2 battery's??

  • @jake1231108 takes alot of power to crank them over. lots of compression. they dont use spark they use compression and other shit to start.

  • @jake1231108 They don't most of them just have two batteries

  • 5 degree celcius or fahrenheit?

  • @boardingpass04 fahrenheit he lives in the states

  • let the glowplugs run more.

  • the glow plugs never worked long in the 6.2 engines

  • yea now thats a cold start lol

  • awsome!!! made my day

  • ya, mine dont like the cold and all my glow plugs work and are on a push button so i dont have to "cycle them". did u have the block heater on?

  • @12Kyle1

he should be driving a dodge :)

  • 6.2 liters? americans just can't build efficient engines.

  • @fifmasta Fuck you

  • @fifmasta

The 7.3 powerstroke, 6.0 powerstroke, and 5.9 cummins will get 20mpg with some modifications. Other diesels will probably get that too but those are the one one's i'm familiar with

  • @fifmasta The damn thing would jerk the foundation out from under your house.

  • @fifmasta it's a diesel made to make torque and pull not make the most hp per liter

  • @fifmasta So what do you call an engine? 1.6 honda? My coca cola bottle has at LEAST 2 liters...ok, bad ricer joke. My 7.3L NON TURBO diesel in my 7600 pound F350 gets a cool 23 MPG (american, not imperial). It has 400 000 kilometers (240 000 miles) on a COMPLETELY untouched engine and drivetrain. Let's see your honda drive the same 400 000 kilometers my truck did, hauling 45 feet of loaded horse trailer across Canada, and then we'll talk efficiency.

  • @goofyexponent you haul killers?

  • @fifmasta my 6.2, 25mpg 6500lbs truck at 75mph, says otherwise, Eurotard. Get a life

  • @GMCMan29 if your still driving a piece of shit 6.2 and think its great you are the one needing a life dumbass

  • @blownutsmyass and what makes the 6.2 a piece of shit?

  • @CSXtrackworker well truthfully because they can't handle any kind of hard work for very long. heck a small block gas burner would out last it pulling hard. the dang things don't like to start in the bitter cold. the best way to help with that was military glow plugs and put the on a manual button. but that only helps so much. but as a car engine they did ok. the 6.2 just has many limitations. really i just said that because the guy it was ment for is a dumbass. nothing on you man.

  • @blownutsmyass Oh no, I wasn't being a dick to ya. I personally like the 6.5 TD. They really are a good engine, but get a bad rap because of the PMD and the harmonic balancer, which both are an easy fix. They may no tmake as much power as these new diesel's, but it will do the job. I usually just ask people why they dislike them. Just want to get their opinion on them. heck, I know a guy who pulls 16,000 lbs total with his 6.5 dualie which is a gooseneck and a 3rd gen cummins pulling truck.

  • @blownutsmyass It may not be fast pulling up hill's, but it get's the job done. But, you have every right to dislike these engine's.

  • @CSXtrackworker well i don't totally dislike them they just don't take the hard work. heck i drove one for 5 years back and forth to work but when it came to pulling anything they would get hot and crack a head or just come apart. once i went on my own i blew up 8 or 9 6.2 and 6.5s trying to pull what my cummins has done day in and day out for 10 years and allmost 400,000 miles. but i would buy a 6.2 again just as a drive around truck.

  • Dunno man, it started kinda bad :( for my 1999 2,5TDI Audi A6 at -25 Celcius/ -13 Fahrenheith, takes to start about 6 seconds.

  • what a hunk of junk those fuck chevys are junk

  • if u got manual glow plug like i do, try hitting the glow plug for a couple of sec's when shes turning over, that what i do & she fires up every time the first time. & ohh u may need new glow plugs.

  • dude!! that shit is dope! yah! sounds bad ass. is it camed or no? it kinda sounds like maby thers a bigger cam in there

  • With a diesel, the heat of compression ignites the fuel. The cylinders can get so cold in the winter, that they suck the heat out of the compressed air, and it won't ignite the fuel properly. That is whats happening here, its missfiring because its cold. Once it warms up it will smooth out

  • backpressure on a non turbo 21:1? come on now. That is smacking it out harder than a turbo. you go find a muffler. Have fun.

  • replace those bad glow plugs. Or replace the wiring going to them. My 6.2 will start the first try, even when its -20 with a strong wind. Sounds cool once it got running.

  • needs some work, my 6.5 starts right up even in the cold without being plugged in. A 6.5 is basically the same as a 6.2 it just has a larger bore and most of them are factory turbo.

  • sounds good

  • hey i straight piped my 6.2 also.

an i heard that its bad cuz the diesel needs backpreasur, an i heard from some1 else that its fine cuz they dont.

mines a 86 though. anyone know if its fine or bad?

  • @sc3n3cor3 all engines need some back pressure to keep from burning the valves. TURBO diesels are ok straightpiped because the turbo supplies backpressure, your 6.2 however would probably be much happier in the long run with a muffler of some kind.

  • whoever told you they need backpressure. the less backpressure on a diesel, the better.

  • TDi engines could've done it first try ;).... nice truck though

  • those things were garbage

  • Why do you have a dodge hat on?

  • its a hat....

  • clattery cold blooded sumbitch lol.. nice video man..

  • sounds like your getting too much fuel, maybe it was modded \ turned up fuel pump for more black smoke but now its a bitch to start?

  • x2 lol

  • typical 6.2, just be careful on how you rev it when its cold. it'll snap the crank

  • lol he is wearing a dodge hat driving a gmc what gives lol

  • @12Kyle1 Who cares if a hat is reliable he needs to get to work that's why he drive a GMC

  • @JcXtreme72 your a dumbass. did you see how hard it was to start that piece of shit?

  • @blownutsmyass Say what you want it still started.

  • @JcXtreme72 yea but it probly died and wouldn't start again after the camra went off since it is a piece of shit Goverment Motors product.

  • @blownutsmyass asshole, somethimes you think you might want to keep your opinion to yourself. fuckers talk big behind a keyboard, tough guys.

  • @Catalina65389 really? but you talk all this shit behind your screen now didn't you? WOW some people are over the top RETARDED!!! but hey feel free to stop by my house any time you want douche. lets see if you got the balls.

  • @12Kyle1 I wear a dodge hat drive a chev and work at ford LOL

  • kinda cranky eh lol

  • Comment removed

  • Nice! I'd like to stand up behind the tail pipe and smell the exhaust!;

  • about*

  • u havent thought aboub glowing the plugs first? stupid fucktard..

  • i cycled the glowplugs about 6 times, it was friggin cold out and im pretty sure a few were bad, so before you run your mouth next time think about it, when i had that truck i was a diesel tech for a garbage company i am not stupid.... whos the "fucktard" now

  • @DBogo

i was actually wondering the same thing.... it must have been COLD! do you have a block heater on that sucker?

  • @harpelurkekarve ....glowplugs are working....but looks like he needs the ac delco "rapid heat" plugs. For a while gm sold glow plugs that were too cold and the 6.2/6.5 were extremely hard to start. Buddy is a diesel tech :)

  • ac delco 60g plugs

    work like a charm

  • from looks of the body, that truck won't last much longer w/o holes all through it, if this is what he wanted then its his truck.

  • sounds like it needs a shot of either

  • acres90, either would only just get it started. This truck would start, then stall. So either would have not made a difference. And the chances of spraying to much either is to high. Could damage the engine easy. For me, if it doesnt start on its oun, it doesnt start. Just safer that way.

  • yeah well sounds good anyway

  • Sounds like the starter wants to go next

  • dude how can you be a redneck without stacks? haha i love it

  • you need glowplugs !

  • Thats exhaust sounds fucking sweet. Deff putting stacks on my 6.2

  • wheres your truck with stacks on it then

  • I got an 83 Sierra 2500 with no stacks. I don't need stacks.

  • PUmp turned up? lots a smokey smoke smoke.

  • nope pump was untouched it smoked a little bit stock

  • next time spray wd-40 down the intake its liike a starter fluid for diesels

  • you can use either in them but i didnt have any just got to be careful with the glowplugs

  • gonna break your starter :P

  • i agree

if he plugs it in, maybe it wont cost him down the road

  • yea the truck was only a few hundred bucks so i really wasnt worried about it

  • good cold air intake.

    It looks dam cold aswell!

    wheres this canada?

    my aunt lives in canada.

  • Do you have ADD?

  • explain?

  • Your post is just random.

  • hardly, question about car and question about place, then statement abou my car for comparison.

  • thats ADHD I think.

Its the little people combing the hair on the inside of my head, tickles my brain....

  • ADD is Attention defect disorder, ADHD is Attention defect hyperactive disorder.

  • I thought those with add r always hyperactive so they allways call it adhd.

I digress away from the topic I think.

  • They put these engines in a half ton too right?

  • when folk say half ton, thats meaning half ton load capacity right?

we dont use that expression here in UK.

I love these engines, sound excellent.

    better than my 60bhp 4cylinder!

mind u, I can still do over 90mph and get 60mpg!

  • by far the best looking and best running 6.2 i've ever seen, awesome man!

  • my 6.2 looks almost brand new, way better then that old faded one :P

  • it is a truck faggot.

  • do you not see the big ass red truck in the video you dumb fuck?

  • you need to suck a big righteous dick you dumb fuck. open your eyes its a fucking truck i'm don't with this conversation because obviously your too retarded to comprehend the difference.

  • I've forgotten more than you'll ever know. i think someones a little jealous that he isn't American lol.

  • get off of youtube dzffe.

  • time for some glow plugs

  • that's awesome. i got a '83 K10 with a bad 6.2 and I'm swappin in a good one. I cant wait to hear it. Mine runs but it's knockin a little and it has straight pipes to the back but it dont sound nearly as good as that. I cant wait for mine to be done. I'm doin dual 4" stacks.

  • thats my truck, well was i sold it for $600 a few months ago and yes it was loud as hell with 4 inch straight pipe on it, its took about 20 minutes to get it started that mornin, ps not a chevy guy look at the hat (dodge) and sweatshirt (haisley machine cummins diesel motorsports)

  • Funny how excited you chevy guys are Just to get your truck running. not to mention the crowd gathered around. don't get me wrong, gotta love the 6.2 litre

  • fuck off

  • make more videos of this truck

  • you can see everytime the glow plugs flick on and off when they come on the smoke goes clear and when they go off it goes white

  • so where are takes 1, 2, and 3? LOL

  • hot video

  • oH Yeah!

    Keep crankin 'n smokin !

  • I had a 6.2 in a k-5 200k miles put a new set of heads and a banks sidewinder turbo setup on it...what a differance..however those old piston rings didnt like the 18psi i was able to finaggle out of the setup.

  • i wanna put some stacks on my 6.2 with no mufflers im gonna put some cold start vids on this weekend

  • does that sucker got a turbo? and can a 6.2 handle a turbo?

  • yes a 6.2 can handle a turbo, Just watch the EGT's Main thing is to let these engines warm up well before putting a load on them.

  • k ill look into that

  • Little rust never hurt anything

  • I love when the 6.2s first start up because of the loping it does.

  • its my buddys truck, just 4" straight pipe, no muffler, factory manifolds. 200k miles

  • How is your exhaust setup for the 4" pipe? Any mufflers? 6.2L Hummer headers?
