    Chloe :)

  • Thanks so much for watching! =)

  • That is so fascinating , it's the first time I've seen them sorta resting. They're so adorable!!!

  • I had a LOT of footage with them sitting and gulping down the nectar, but really long shots tend to be fairly boring to most viewers, so I went with the traditional 6 second rule for scene length and tried to focus on those parts with the most interesting action and movement. I have more very close-up realtime footage with very interesting sounds... all still in the works :-)

  • @jcmegabyte I'd be very interested to see that, real time, natural sound...There are people who actually have a relaxed attention span...even today

  • ☼So cool to watch!☼

  • I've filmed so much footage of these guys, and it's all so fascinating - almost hypnotic to watch them fly and maneuver... definitely cool little birds :-)

  • When you say up scaled to 720 HD you mean a different lense or?

  • Generally speaking, "upscaling" refers to making an electronic image larger via digital interpolation. In this case, the software (Windows Movie Maker) just took the sub-VGA-sized video clips I gave it for input, and output a finished 720p movie just because I selected that format for output. It was fiendishly simple and resulted in surprisingly good quality, too :-)

  • I tot I tot a Hummingbirds

  • Petit oiseau je veux bien que tu viennes voler devant mes fenêtres mais malheureusement tu ne viens pas en France

  • They are fascinating little birds. Yes it is too bad that they don't live in Europe, but you can always come see them here in my videos :-) Cheers!

  • @jcmegabyte Thanks to the oil spill in the Gulf there probably will be a lot less living in the Americas too in the not too distant future.

  • Watching the that delicate bird flying and balancing to reach for it's food is so enjoyable....Thank you for giving the world such pleasure!

  • My pleasure :-) I do enjoy making these and it great that you can enjoy them too - thanks for watching!

  • quite amazing I love it! I have watched most of these already in your channel but this was really snapping it all together actually once at my neighbors house all these crows were fighting and someone shooed them all away and in the very center was a baby hummingbird it was endured and we picked it up it couldn't fly so someone kept it till it healed and then it flew away but It was the only time I have ever touched a baby humming bird they are beautiful

  • They are surprisingly tough little birds, and injured really seriously, they can recover fairly fast :-)

  • Aw that was so beautiful thank you

  • Glad you enjoyed - thanks for watching! :-)

  • wow so beautiful

  • Very happy to see your video in the Sub box! I've never seen a hummingbird side-step like that. Another work of art, inspiring!!

  • The more I film them the more interesting stuff I see them doing! What sub box did this show up in?

  • @jcmegabyte The subscriptions section on the YT home page.

  • Nice vid. This bird is cute and funny. Thanks.

  • Thanks for stopping by! :-)

  • Very good work. Beautiful images and music.

The bird is cute. A kiss for the very little bird

  • Glad you enjoyed - thanks for visiting :-)

  • Beautiful! Amazing footage!

I'm curious: What kind of nectar do you use to feed the hummers? They sure do like it, whatever your secret formula is!

This video goes straight into my favourites....Thanks, mate!

  • The best nectar for these birds, believe it or not, is plain old sugar and water - mixed about 4 parts water to 1 part sugar and replaced fresh every few days. Artificial nectars are problematic, dyes and things aren't good for them, and honey/water mixtures seem like a good idea but are prone to bacterial and fermentation issues. Fortunately, the birds get all the other nutrients from eating bugs and natural nectar sources. :-)

  • @jcmegabyte Amazing. I heard always heard about the old sugar-and-water mixture for hummers, but I didn't think it could be that simple and easy! So, why do the pet stores sell hummingbird nectar mix filled with artificial colouring dyes? Hummers don't need to be ingesting artificial anything! Just get a colourful feeder that looks flower-like, hang it in a safe location away from curious pussycats, and the hummingbirds will come and chug-a-lug the sugar-water nectar right down. Yummy and easy!

  • I'm sure the pet stores/product manufacturers are just looking to make some money. Most people are easily sold on the "more nutitious than sugar water" thing, even though it's very unlikely anyone ever did any kind of scientific research to substantiate that claim/suggestion. Meanwhile, the little birdies are eating the same chemical concoctions we humans do, all for the sake of corporate profit. At least sugar, though procesed, is a natural food. :-)

  • @jcmegabyte Have you ever tried using brown, raw sugar, that hasn't been artificially whitened? The hummers might really like that sugar instead. If it's yummy enough for my morning coffee, then it must be yummy for the tweeties too!

  • From what I've read, most natural sweeteners other than refined white sugar have bacterial, fungus and fermentation issues when left in feeders even after a few hours, probably because they contain small amounts of impurities which grow rapidly when mixed with water and placed in an ideal environment (warm temperature, lots of nutrients, etc.). A better deal might be to just grow lots of flowers! :-)

  • @jcmegabyte Well, it seems that you know everything about everything. I shall defer to your hummingbird expertise from here on!

Say hello to Mister Krabs for me! :)

  • @jcmegabyte And, I apologize, but your moth icon still looks like a crab to me. It's the spitting of image of Mister Krabs from the SpongeBob show!

  • Now I'm really curious - I'm seriously going to have to check that out! XD

  • Too awesome for words!

Incredible footage ~ thanks for sharing.

    ~South Africa~

  • My pleasure - so happy you enjoyed! Cheers! :-)

  • It never ceases to amaze me how something so tiny can be so absolutely mesmerizing.

  • I agree - at normal speed they look more like fast little bugs, but when you slow them down a lot..... that's when the show really starts :-) Thanks so much for watching!

  • So beautiful!

  • Thanks! and thanks for visiting, too :-)
