I never questioned that James VI made the flag ... in fact, if we want to be more specific, the flag wasn't raised until 1606 when he was already King James I of England (Union of Crowns).

I also know that original first version was a mere combination of St.George's cross (representing back then England & Wales) & St. Andrew's cross.

Later on the St. Patrick's cross was added to represent Ireland but since its independe(N)ce in 1921-22 it was kept representing NI.

I guess u don't know where I'm from as my country's history has nothing 2 do with ur beloved royal highness (thanks God 4 that!). In my modest opinion(if I may), the British flag shouldn't represent Scotland,Northern Ireland nor Wales as I believe these countries should have their own independece!
