I think we all know the purpose to that little strat BLIZZARD. No matter what feature(s) you might introduce, people wont return. WOW is a fail MMO by now. and BTW, what is the point of, oh i don't know.... learning from experience. I don't know why so many comments are saying "This is the worst idea ever!!" It'll help to know the abilities of the bosses before hand so you'll know what to expect when you go into a dungeon or raid, and you can avoid wiping. I'm betting a lot of raiding guilds are going to use this.

To be Honest, i think this may be one of the worst Ideas that has ever been added to  the game. While i understand that it will help the thousands (Millions?) of people who don't bother to go reading a strat to find out about a boss, i feel like it removes a huge part of the fun of a boss. There just wont be the same excitement as before when you hit a new phase, or see a new ability, because you will already know that the ability (or Phase) is there simply by reading the DG.

@Yapi915 I hate to break it to you but real raiders actually sit down and read the online guides. The days of not knowing a bosses abilities ended years ago. We have PTR guides, just went live guides, and even first kill guides. How could someone be surprised when you can watch a video on Youtube before you ever step foot into the dungeon? From what I have seen they are not giving players any information that isn't already available to the masses already. Besides strats vary based on the group.

@Shadowlurkering As someone who is usually in the groups that make those guides, i can say that i will miss the experience of finding new abilities and new phases. Sure, "Real Raiders" do the fights on PTR, but the thing is PTR is always subject to change, a ability may change from one attempt to the next, Hell a whole Phase may change! But when you have something written in a Blizzard created guide, that instantly tells you all the new changes, its just not the same as trying it out yourself.

basically what i think is, should you have to document what this boss does yourself, say you kill General Umbriss in GB, you have then seen the crap this boss does and write it down it you're journal for future reference.

Just seems like there should be a little sense of reward in this, -- you go to a place you kill the bosses, you get a page in your journal about it.

Achievements arn't necessary, though this shouldn't just be a "given" thing in eyes my

hmm, while i like the idea of this i must say I'm not entirely taken by it;s concept. While i see this tool will be invaluable in forming strategies around tactics and getting a sort of "heads up" on what the boss does, i feel there should be some sort of system of achievement within the journal.

I mean jst dinging 85 you have a comprehensive guide on what every boss does and, if you have some level of intelligence can formulate strategies around them before even entering the place.

And I hardly believe you'll have done the Fireland 50 times over ;). From this patch onward, you'll know what everything does in a new instance without having to do ask/ run in and die
