Also had another thing to ask do you have headers on that like i have a 95 with the lt1 and if i get slp loudmouth 1s on it will it hav close to the same sound i have stock manifolds on it and stock cat jw thank you
I don't remember. I don't have the car anymore and I bought the exhaust components years ago. I bought the loudmouth from thunder racing and the long tubes and y pipe from the SLP online store.
@ognaysayer oh ok, sounds good man, I just put SLP LT's on my 2000 SS with an O/R Y pipe, and I was thinkin of puttin the loudmouth on but I didnt want it to be loud as hell
@94riosnake Man there is no such thing as too loud. When I dumped my cats and ran an off road pipe, the sound change wasn't noticeable, at least to me. I only picked up 3 hp and 9 ft-lbs ditching the cats on the dyno.
well i sold this monster about a year ago to some kid i thought would take care of it, but he was a redneck who just trashed it. very sad for me. i miss this beast.
Yes all the same junk ass GM 10 bolt rear end. The only thing different is the gear ratios, 6 speeds come with 3.42s and automatics come with 2.73s standard or 3.08s as an option I believe. Maybe 3.23s? I know 2.73 is definitely the standard automatic gear ratio though.
Sounds beautiful, but next video you shoot, film from inside the car, goin' thru the gears on the freeway or highway, bottom out/flatline the speedometer if you can, next clip, put the camera behind the car & rev the motor, hold the gas at about 4,500 rpm so we the audience can hear the cam & exhaust's profile.
Well the problem with the 10 bolt is that some have been able to stay together running lots of HP. mine went out with 334RWHP and Nittro 555r 316's on the rear. its really a crap shoot. My advice would be to drive it until it breaks and if that happens get either a 12 bolt or like i did a Moser 9" with 4.11's
yea, pretty much, its just when you put a big load on them thats when they might go. 10 bolts are rather weak rear-ends. i dont know why gm put them in those cars, but they did. if you do decide to change it out, i'd do what goyogarcia08 said. go with the 12 bolt if you want to stay gm, which it is a pretty strong axle. i've seen alot of high hp cars pulling wheel stands with the 12 bolt. or you can go all the way with the 9".
I wouldn't have walked into that smoke. Looks like Mustard gas. lol.

I am scared as hell to do that in mine cause I know that 10 bolt is not strong enough to take that better for very long.
Transam1117 3 years ago
na, 10 bolts are fine as long as your spinning, it when you put slicks on the ass of the car, thats when you pray it doesn't break to the strip.
jn20000 3 years ago
so on a ls1 with header and tune the 10 bolt wqont cracked unless i put slick n ake off at high rpms correct?

so it usllay bad if u read high rpm n to much power and u catch grip to strong is wen it break right?..but if it spining out it be alright?
