i like how drunk vortex is on their "shipwrecked in olso" it adds an element to the live performance that is perfect for a frontman... come to think of it... vortex is usually drunk whenever i see him. excellent singer for an excellent band... garm is badass too! im just glad ICS left dimmu. wise move....get rich and ditch!

I like both Garm and Vortex equally... they both add something unique and are both excellent musicians. And sometimes it really depends which song it is. For example, Garms voice is perfect for nightmare heaven, kinetic and such. But taking a song like ab absurdum, in my opinion Garms voice is a bit misplaced, and the live version with Vortex, I think he fits the role better. Of course it all depends on taste but I think its great how both singers are my favourites :)

Garm is an awesome singer... in the studio - recently heard Ulver live, and I was not impressed. Might be he had been fucked up from days of drinking, I dont know, but his voice was quite bad live. Caught Borknagar back in the day with Vortex, his voice is amazing live.

They are amazing on this album and others such as Borknagar, The Olden Domain (Borknagar), La Masquerade Infernale, Constellation EP, Aspera Hiems Symfonia (Arcturus), all is work on his band Ulver, especially on the album The Madrigal Of The Night - Eight Hymnes To The Wolf... and Shadows Of The sun. And he did a great job on the song Loki Trickster God from the album Death For Fire (Solefald). I came to the conclusion that he's a Metal god!
