  • Fantastic

  • @HYPNOTICVIDEO Thanks a lot!

  • There is elements that make me think of the Star Trek theme. This may very well be one of the coolest songs that I have heard in a long time.

and yes Jeb was what brought me here. THANK YOU

  • I don't know if Jeb links to more crazy videos or Notch.

  • Jebinated.

  • Thumbs up if Jens/Jeb took you here

  • Special effects by BLINGEE

  • You sir, are a boss!

  • @pausmax :-)

  • notch and jeb thx for showing me this!

  • Fy Faen Pekkanini!! Dette er JÆVLIG bra!! Keep up the good work!

  • @Nenokkim Tack! Sådana kommentarer gör ju att man bara fortsätter och fortsätter!!

  • you play the theramin as well as well Theramin himself. he would be proud keep making great music

  • @ilikejewce Thanks a lot! You made my day!!

  • Nice, but- no fair adding SYNTH track/s. [Shades of MORODER, for sure.]

  • @ROBOTkw1 Well the theremin is for real, at least. I know because I played it! :-)

  • @kintenkinten Thanks for the very nice comment. All the best!

  • you have the most entertaining theremin videos by far! i can't stop watching them!

  • @dogstargirl83 Thanks a lot. You made my day! :-)

  • @Pekkanini55 Could you please send me the backing track of this? I'm building my own homemade theremin and this looks like something I could use for my first steps (the track has quite clear chord progressions and looks like fun to jam with).

  • @woro90 - Hi! I don't really send my original tracks around to everybody, it's my composition and besides it would take some time to mix that down again..so..

But I can send you the whole song with the theremin on it if you like?

  • Great!

    One of my favorite videos.

    Congratulations.

    Sotiris.

  • how much is this thing?

  • @mortededame - anything from $750 up to $4 000..

  • @Pekkanini55 seriously.... damn >_<

  • @mortededame There are other theremins that aren't manufactured by Moog that cost a little as 160 Dollars. They aren't very high quality, such as the one in the video, but it's great if you've never played it.

  • I wish it was more available in my country..

  • @ThePleasentrees : Unfortunately Moog Music doesn't manufacture the Pro

anymore and I know that the used ones are being sold at a very high price, I heard of one being sold for $5 000...The Standard theremins that Moog sell is absolutely fine, though. You can get one for $550-600. Good Luck!

  • Is there anyway to get a hold of one of the Etherwave Theremin Pros?

  • where is this concert thing on the 17th of april? cant seem to find the info.

  • Sir you are a fucking genius

  • This is a wonderful mastery of this exotic instrument - your practice and skill are definitely shown here. I love the custom video effects.

    Such a haunting tune.

    Well done! Very entertaining!

  • How hard is it to learn the theremin?

  • It depends what musical background you have. To play a melody on the theremin is like playing a fretless bass, without the bass :-)

  • @Pekkanini55

Whoa. Zen and the art of Theremin. : )

  • @Pekkanini55 So would it be similar for violin players?

  • @DeeperThanSurface - I guess that you have a real advantage if you're a good violin player and want to try the theremin. It's all about listening and developing of your body memory, if you see what I mean.

  • This song just won first place in the People's Music Awards! Just more proof that Pekkanini is the man! Congratulations !

  • Pekka skulle du kunna spela ryska nationalsången på en theremin när jag gifter mig och begravs??? snälla, detta e ett av de koolaste intrumenten som finns

  • Hi, Pekka!! Wonderful!!! You are the best! =)

  • ha ha wonderful cheeze...

  • yeah! great song

  • haha this makes me want to play the theremin even more!!!

  • this guy is the RawsOmE SauCe!!!

  • Sir...you are a genius.

  • xD!!!! this was hilarious.. i actually liked the song and he's an excellent theremin player. a lot of people lack the ear for the theremin .. but this concept is a bit wacky .. and i don't think it'll catch on. lmao XD

  • The right stance before the camera; a mix between Buster Keaton, Monsieur Hulot and Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Calzelunghe.

But do TV producers watch YouTube?

    Pekkanini could overshadow the Monkies.

  • don't you think it's a little kraftwerk, too? :-) anyway, it's well done.

  • Nothing of the sort: the instruments are not hand-made by Pekkanini himself.

  • I meant the video was well done. and the style of the video reminds me of the band kraftwerk.

  • Please, do not confuse the Craftwerk mimicry, which was a choice, with the style in which, by necessity, a theremin has to be played or you're going to find similaties between a celloist and an harpist.

  • I'm not confusing anything -I CAN see a choice of clothing, setting and some "electronic effects" in lighting and everything. I am well aware of what I see and I don't think you know so much better.

  • So, now you're talking of yourself; sorry, an argument that doesn't raise my interest

  • heh some corny graphics yet an awesome song and player. . . kudos!

  • you are possible the coolest person in the world !!lol!!!!!! well done

  • Bravo!!!! How does one learn this instrument? Is it just trial and error? How long does it take to get fairly good at it?

  • Years like any instrument. :-)

Look up theremin lesson on youtube there are some really good ones.

  • Thanx, I will do that!

  • I like that!!! :)

  • Very fun!!

  • Your awsome!! Kolton

  • My favourite of all your theremin compositions ... truly excellent! Thanks!

  • i supposed to ask woodyinthemiddle as a reply to heis comment. by the way... this guy rocks.

  • Genius!

  • Great performance, exellent itnonation and composition! Bravo!!!

  • how do these things work?

  • They generate a weak electrical field around each antenna. Your body also naturally generates it's own electrical charge. When you put your hands near the antenna(s),they react to your movements and translate the current into pitch and volume. You literally play it by waving your hands around (hopefully in a precise way) and music is the result. The Theremin is the only instrument in the world played by NOT touching it. It was invented by a Russian genius named Leon Theremin in 1919.

  • i think the original idea wasn't to develop a musical instrument. or was it?

  • Leon Theremin got the idea for his invention one day when he walked past a radio that was playing. As he passed by it he heard a faint sound that was changing pitch as he moved closer to the radio. He realised his body position had something to do with it and deduced it was caused by his own capacitance(your bodies natural electrical charge). Here is where his true genius came into play, most would have tried to eliminate this "interference" instead,he saw the potential to make music from it!

  • coool

  • Hej Pekka!

Lika kul och bra som vanligt. Ser fram emot julsånger med dig i tomtemössa.
