  • ty i was kinda fucked when i realized it had 4 :S

  • @el40degto Oh I'm sorry... I guess you calculated V+~- on your first wiring & then watched what your amp signal is doing while you track the over voltage coming from the voice coils. I'm an electrical engineer & retired Navy electronics tech. Do not taunt me... does your momma have an oscilloscope you can borrow? I very much doubt it. So, in your own words... what is taking place in regards to your first wiring & in respect to the voice coils.

  • That first wiring will turn that sub into a transformer, just download the manual if you lost it... don't circle the sub with wires. The furthest point of connection with have fluctuations in voltage. That will be feeding bad +/- to the far coils...

  • @Aint1S Evidently you know nothing in regards to how to wire subwoofers. The two different wiring schemes portrayed in the video are absolutely correct. You may want to consult your manual on how to wire your subwoofers if you believe this is not a correct way to wire them. :)

  • What happens if I run it NEG to NEG and POS to POS, but run them to the amp from the same voice coil? What's the differenced if the voice coils are ran in parallel anyway?

  • What guage is that blue wire you used for the voice coils

  • @skeeno2x 12 gauge.

  • hablas español? veo que tienes un video bumping corridos

  • @lawyervillarica simon

  • @El40deGTO the 2 wires your suppose to hook to your amp cant you hook them in your box you put the subs in then hook the amp up whole the sub r in the box?

  • What does the ohms change?

  • @TwoFootedMan

The nominal impedance of the subwoofer, which in simple terms depends how much power your going to be getting from your amp at whichever impedance you choose to run your subwoofer(s).

  • @TwoFootedMan more ohms less power from amp, less ohms more power from amp

  • hey i have two 12inch sony xplods rated at 300rms each and there 4ohmn impedence. i have a 1000watt kenwood rated at 500rms at 2ohmns and 300 something rms at 4ohmns. can i get them down to 2ohmns or will they mess up o.0?

  • Thanks for the tip, so it's not good to run them parallel from one coil?

  • @EL40deGTO if I got two rockford fosgate p2 15's and the rms is 250watts, what size amp would I need and how could I wire it?

  • @cadz228

So the total combined RMS wattage will be 500w. I recommend an amp that pushes out 500w or close to 500 @ 2 ohms, since your subs are each SVC 4 ohms you would wire them both together to a final impedance of 2 ohms ( as the first wiring demonstration in the video) , therefore matching it perfectly with the amp i specified. Hope it helps!

  • @cadz228 dont listento the el40degto idiot. do u want to power your subs at exactly 250, a lil under or a lil over? if u want it right on, than find one that pushes 250w at 2 ohms. a lil over than find one that pushes 250w at 4 ohms but is still '2 ohm stable' That is VERY important, and it will give you slightly more power. a little under than find one that pushes 250w at 2 ohms, but wire your subs in series, not parralel! if you have any more questions/need diagrams message me!

  • @VanDiggler404

For sure, NP. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • @VanDiggler404

Not possible, but you can get them down to 2 ohms

  • im new with this and i have somewhat of an idea of how ohms work. my question is can i wire a channel for each coil. like if i put the first channel to 1 + and - and the second to the other + and -?

  • @doublexnchuck

you could but the best thing to do is wire the two coils how i demonstrate in the video to lower your impedance, therefore resulting in more amp wattage output.

  • Well can u bridge 2 subs to the amp right?

  • @jorge55079 yeah it all depends on the amp and subs you have.

  • now i wanna wire both of my kicker cvr 4 ohm subs to 2ohms.. do i gotta wire both subs together and then to the amp? plz help

  • @schmidtyy616 There is no way for you to wire both subs together to a final impedance of 2 ohms if they are both 4 ohms DVC. You can only wire them to a final impedance of 4 or 1 ohms, but not a lot of amps are stable at 1 ohm so just stick with 4 ohms.

  • Well done

  • @mrbasshead88

    For suree!

  • i wired my boss phantoms to 2 ohms each. very easy thanks for this video

  • @mrcrowley203

    NO Prob.

  • fucking thank u bro so much man that shit will do a nasty noise when i hooked them up wrong

and i thought it was because my amp didnt handle 2 ohm load

  • @SALVADORLATINO101

    For sure bruh.

  • fuck bro i didnt new that shit the one with the dots its the same voice coil dam luck u told me man thank u mucho i love u bro thaznkssssssssssssss almost burned my shit

  • yesss finally an answer. why cant you connect vc #1 pos and neg running to the amp in parallel? Ive been trying to figure out if thats true or not

  • @wayne2ooo8 huh we were in the same page god dam thanks to El40deGTO i know how to wire them now fuck thank u so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • hey good video bro, but in what ohms the subwoofers or my 2 12in cvr's 4ohm can sound louder?

  • @625homie

wire them together to a final impedence of 4 ohms

  • i have da new l7 12 inch 2ohm how to wire dat i did not get no result yet

  • @hardearn2

wire it the same way i first wired it in the video and you should get a final impedance of 2 ohms.

  • great video it was very helpful,

  • @finsherone1: if you wire two subs at 8 ohms then wire them parallel (both to same channel) it will make it 2 ohms. but if you wire both at 2 ohms then hook them up parallel that makes it 1 ohm witch is awsome! but most amps arnt 1 ohm stable

  • I have a question. Why would u want to wire a sub at 8 ohms?? isnt the how point to wire them to a lower ohm?? what does it help you in when u wire at 8 ohms?

  • Thanks, I hooked up some Kicker DVC subs yesterday. They sounded like crap and couldn't figure out why, but now I see I wired the jumper wire that runs to the amp to only coil #1. Here's hoping I didn't do any damage. Thanks for the vid!

  • now what hits harder i have mine on 2 ohms and they hit i have 2 10" cvr kickers

  • @dillonmitchum124

2 ohms will hit hard as well as 4 ohms as long as you have your subwoofer"s matched with the proper amp!

  • can hifonics bxi1608D support 8ohms

  • @6Cozmik9

Thanks for asking. That amplifier can run at 1, 2 or 4 ohms. Hope it helps!

  • @El40deGTO well i got 2 10's quantum audio cozmik series dvc2ohm and each is set to 4ohm

    - + ___- + -=8ohm load from 2 dvc2ohm sub i wanted to know if the amp does 8ohm load i cannot do 0.5 or 2ohm on stock car battery

  • @6Cozmik9

You CAN wire it to 2 ohms on stock battery, just that you wont get as much juice from it than if u had a deep cycled battery. Just make sure you dont bump with you car on the off/acc position or it WILL DRAIN YOUR BATTERY! Trust me my friend has 2 dvc subs wired to 2 ohms on stock battery and it hella bumps, has had no probs whats soever.

  • @El40deGTO thanx 4D info but i wont drain the battery if i have the car on 2ohm load with ac or what ever while the car is on? or it does..............i know that it will drain it down if i have the vehicle off

  • @6Cozmik9

I meant in tha acc( accessory position) which is basically having the vehicle off, if the vehicle is on there is no prob about draining the battery.

  • @El40deGTO u dont get much power out of 8 ohms

  • @blkout15 its ok to run iy bridged with the subwoofer beibg wired at 2ohms, but u have to make sure ur amp is stable at 2ohms when u bridge it. Most amps arent stable @2ohms bridge.

  • Your youtube channel looks great... Keep up the high quality videos...

  • okay i understand how to wire it , now if you run it wired to two ohm & bridged on 2 channel amp to mono , i heard thats bad ?? so if i wire my dual 4 ohm to 2 ohm like you did , i can only use it on one channel right ? or is it okay to run bridged mono when wired to 2 ohm ?? shits so confusing lol

  • @defjam20102

Correct but u cant connect both positive and negative from the same voice coil, it has to be one from either coil

  • Dude it doesn't make a difference which positive or negative you put to your amp for 2 ohms, they are wired together!

  • i have 2 4ohm dvc subs. i want to wire it to bridged and to 4 ohms. i have a 2 channel amp. how will i wire it

  • @El40deGTO i need ur help i have 2 l7s wired to a mono but shits shuts off even when its low i have them wired parallel idk wat i can do

  • @DaddyTrixx602

are ur subs dvc 2 or 4 ohms?

  • @El40deGTO i need ur help i have 2 l7s wired to a mono but shits shuts off even when its low i have them wired parallel idk wat i can do

  • SO if i have 2 kicker l7 at 4 ohm each how do i wire them togeather for a total of 2 ohms ? plz respond

  • @ctstepoverking9

are each dvc 2 or 4 ohms?

  • @El40deGTO why dont you just jump the wire from the + on one coil to the - on another to save all the wireing it will run a stable 2ohms i have 4 15 hooked up like that 1+ and a - on another coil = 2 coils. all u add is 1 wire other than jumping coils witch is bad for the sub and is 4OHMS reguardless.

  • @SuperJfelton

If I were too wire it like that, it would give me a final impedance of 8 ohms , not 2 ohms since its only one subwoofer.

But in your case that ur using 4 dvc 4ohms u can wire it like that and get a final impedance of 2 ohms.

  • notice how it waz hard to put the wire in the term w/ 1 hand? i go thro that everyday now u got a lil taste of my life

  • thanks for the quick response, so i am new to this, so can i put it to a 1 ohm load, and how should i wire my wires, its the way how your doing it right now,

  • @suayang07

ok so your sub is a DVC 2 ohms and NO It is not the same as an 0S10L74 <-- that is a DVC 4 ohms. Using the first wiring method i explain in the video finalizes your impedence to 1 ohm. The alpine MRP-M500 amp your using is NOT 1 OHM STABLE so i would recommend you wire ur sub using the second wiring scheme i use so ur final impedence will be a 4 ohm load. This will give ur sub 300 watts because thats what the amp is rated at 4 ohms.

  • @El40deGTO

eh thanks a lot, will that be enough power to bump it good enough, dang i gotta get a 1 ohm amp then, LOLz

    thanks a lot,

  • @suayang07

yea that should bump pretty good. 1 ohm stable amps are really rare and expensive i would recommend u get another L7 in the future and a 1200 rms amp @ 2 ohms so when u wire both subs together ull get a final impedence of 2 ohms and will get the perfect match for ur subs.

  • ii am having problems hooking up my dvc MaxP104D to a mono amp. Need help wiring it.

  • @bsoto1019

ok first off is it 2 or 4 ohms?

  • Even though on your title it says for a kicker sub, the same process would be the same for a different brand sub right?

  • @kikomonsta13

yup as long as its DVC

  • @El40deGTO cool thanks man.

  • hey there, maybe you can help me too! I have a 10 inchL7, model 0S10L72, 2 ohm voice coils, and got a mrp 500 @ 2 ohms, is my sub the same as a 0S10L74? (kinda lost there)

Okay so how should i wire my sub to my amp, thanks

    or anyone a lilttle help!!!

  • @suayang07 Ok so you have a dual voice coil 2 ohm sub?

  • @suayang07 And I think the 74 is a 4 ohm and the 72 is a 2 ohm.

  • i have a question, in what ohms the subs sound more loud? or how i can connect my 2 kicker's 12in's to sound more louder? please......

  • @625homie

the lower the impedence the more wattage youll get from your amp. so for example an amp may give u 600 watts @ 2 ohms, while it only gives you 300 @ 4 ohms. How many ohms are ur subs and what kind of amp are u running them off?

  • @El40deGTO my subs are 4 ohms and my amp is pyle pro 1200watts...or check my videos..

  • @625homie

Ok so im pretty sure they are each dvc 4 ohms since i have these subs as well

so ull want to wire them parallel to get a final impedence of 4 ohms.

  • @El40deGTO so i need to connect the kickers to 4ohms?

  • Is it possible to wire a DVC 4Ohm sub to a 2Ch amp that has the following specs?

    RMS Power Rating:

    4 ohms: 125 watts x 2 chan.

    2 ohms: 250 watts x 2 chan.

    Bridged, 4 ohms: 500 watts x 1 chan.

Could I run two separate channels to each voice coil? Sorry if these are dumb questions I'm not very experienced with car audio.

  • @PWNER3

In this case, your best option would be to run one channel to each voice coil and you'll be getting 125 watts rms to each coil since each coil is 4 ohms. So thats 250 watts rms total. Just make sure the subwoofers rms is not less than 250 rms or else youll end up blowing it. Hope i was of help.

  • my question is because ive never been able to find out is what do the dots on the push terminals mean is it labeling the first coil or the second coil or what because i think ive only seen it on kicker woofers and i have a 15" l7 shipping now and i want to make sure what the dots mean so i can wire it properly it is a dual 2ohm because i want to wire it down to 1ohm for my amp that pushes 1400w @ 1ohm

  • @BassThoughts

Well the terminals with the dots is one voice coil and the solid color ones are another one. To wire your dual 2 ohm subwoofer to 1 ohm do the same first wiring method i show in the video this will give you an final impedence of 1 ohm.

  • Comment removed

  • @El40deGTO ok yes it is official after reading a few kicker manuals i downloaded from kicker.com the white dots label the first coil so you hook it up first

  • Comment removed

  • @MultiAdamcampbell

you can wire a dual 2ohms to either 1 ohm or 4 ohms but not 8 ohms. a dual 4 ohms can be wired like shown in the video to 2 or 8 ohms.

  • Te la Robaste Vale

  • @dleal714

no compa para eso trabajo para darme mis gustos, no como otros que nomas envidian a la gente

  • soo which wiring would be most recomended to have.??

or which wiring would make it bump louder.?

  • compa, doese that make it 1ohm

  • @AvelarAutoSport na first wiring method is parallel (lowers impedence) since its 2 4ohm voice coil using this method u get a final impedence of 2 ohms if it were a dvc 2 ohms then yes doin this same method would give u a final load of 1 ohm

  • so if i have the dual voice coils does it mean my sub is 4ohms

  • @bradenkame No, they are either dvc 2 ohms or dvc 4 ohms. In this vid i show wiring a 4ohms dvc. If you have a 2ohms dvc u can wire it how i wired it to 2ohms but youll be getting a final impedence of 1 ohm, or u can wire it how i wired this sub to 8 ohms and your final impedence will be 4 ohms

  • thank you bro...no wonder my kicker sounded like shit lol

  • to make it clear how do you know how its not the same voice coil? can the subwoofer get less output if its hooked up to the same voice coil?

  • @cr7caliz1 one voice coil has solid color terminals, red an black and the other is red with a whitdot and black with white dot. well thats how it is with kickers and on others itll say like voice coil 1 and then thell also label vc 2

if you wire it to the same voice coil all ur doing is wiring it to a final impedence of 4 ohms because thats what each voice coil is
