I enjoyed this rendition very much! This song was taught to us in high school and has become a part of my repertoire for an erhu recital. For me there's no "choking" at all, during the singing. In fact the notes were all sustained and very solidly sung. Again, thank you for posting!

You have a good voice but your singing method is wrong. You choke the high notes in your throat . When you get older you will have no voice left to sing.

Thanks for your comment, though I don't think my voice is good. I'd like to hear more of your comment on singing method. Which note(s) did you mean were choked in the throat? I didn't feel any choking!

Artistic voice rendering only substracts power from the words...throw away the rule for once, and take on the original intent of the words.

I'm a voice student myself, an amateur, but I have a reasonably good ear.

There might have been a trace of tightness in the final bar, but nothing serious, nothing that couldn't be corrected fairly easily.

It's hard to tell from the relatively low fidelity on YouTube.

If you don't feel any soreness in your throat when you sing that section, you probably don't have a problem.
