Awesome. An old friend from my past got me into Ash in 72, where are you Ray Bibby. Do you still live in the Quay. I usedto live at 43, princes st. Are you still playing the drums? From John Hughes. Great times.
Wishbone flipped me the first time I ever heard them, and still do............... Everything has changed, but when I need to cry, I play some Ash, even when I`m FUBBed!, and it takes me back!!!!!!!!!
This is one of those rare 'perfect' songs. I stop whatever it is I may be doing to listen. I had the good fortune to help form a band in the '70s that eventually played all of the songs from Live Dates. Exactly. Note for note. If I find a more enjoyable bass arrangement it will be the day pigs fly, though in that day and age I think I saw a few things that weren't really there. And remember, this is a waltz. Go ahead and dance to it. Melody, harmony, emotion, guitar mastery. WHAT A TUNE!!
WOW, what great memories, traveling around Europe 74, in a VW camper , listening to live dates and drinking brandy at one dollar a bottle. Lets do it again lads...
@LittleLaurenPeeps The 1970s rocks! Can't beat Wishbone Ash, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath, Free, Mountain, Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, Rainbow, etc. Glad you like them too!
Looooooove these guys! It's a shame I'm so broke and they don't seem to come to the NJ area often, because I would absolutely love to see them live. By far my favorite band...it's sad that so few people know who they are when I mention them. But I've gotten a few friends into them, so yay. I swear I should have been born in the 50s (or at least early 60s) instead of the 80s...
@badcoraphael great comment - great taste - specially for someone your age - it was my big brother got me into Wishbone Ash - first saw them on the New England tour, they're going to be playing my town in October - YUM !
@Kyoddv Always one of my favorite guitar solos too. They had a two night gig in New Orleans around 1975 and I saw them on the first night; they didn't play this song, presumably because they weren't "leaving this town in the morning." and I was disappointed. I think they played it the next night, but I wasn't there to hear it. Andy still plays it when he gigs, though, and I took my son to see him a couple of years ago in Massachusetts.

Outstanding! Only 5407 hits on this song. Listeners of music popular today are missing out bigtime.

Propably the best guitarsolo on record from Andy Powell. Last solo is a killer, my favorite!!!
