This game left me heartwrenched for days after I beat it. The Prince is one of the few good male protagonists in any video game (as opposed to the Grizzled Space Marine with No Personality) and I couldn't believe that he didn't get the love that he deserved.
@antagonist42 Omfg, same. The entire plot of the game... it was such a kind of sweet fantasy, where good and evil exist, but even though stuff is simple things do have to end sadly. It's just awesome. One of the few games which really struck a chord in me emotionally! This track as well, something to do with this piece of music, it really got to me - it fit with the melancholy of the ending perfectly.

@Warrloker The prince in PoP 2008 was not really a prince, he was just a "prince" in name. But you are right, PoP 2008 had its own graphics engine and plot.
I am a massive fan of the prince of persia franchise. The best thing about all the games in general is the music, it gives a great sense of the tension and atmosphere between the characters. Personally I do think that warrior within is the best prince of persia game as it has intense action gameplay, lots of gore and sick combat styles, and great music since I am a huge fan of Godsmack, who did the warrior within theme, I stand alone, which is so EPIC and totally awesome. I still love this song.

@geof620 I think that the third one sums upp everything that has happened in all 3 games perfectly, but if you think about all of the games individually and not as a trilogy I think that the first two has a far greater storyline. and didn't you have a female companion in the second game aswel, It has been a while since I played ''the warrior within''.

Warrior Within was a huge disappointment to the rest the series. It took away from the mysterious feel and gave it a dark and edgy atmosphere that just didn't work. I like the idea of trying to turn the Prince into a badass, but they did it in the worst way possible.
Worst 5 hours I ever spent trying to navigate dark corridors and uninteresting plots.
I'm afraid that they're cannot be a sequel or remake that lives up to the greatness of the original.

I understand it was required for the story but it still lost something in execution. TT was a step back in the right direction, but still nowhere as good. That feeling of wonder and majesty were absent in both sequels, and I attribute this mostly to Jordan Mechner not having such a decisive role as a member of the team.

I personally like "Warrior Within" least of the three, and I love "Two Thrones" the most, because that was the game that chronicled his battle and final triumph over his inner darkness. It was cool that by the end of it all, he had found a balance in himself. He wasn't the naive lad we first saw in SoT, but he also wasn't the emo prick we had to put up with in WW. And I do like the visuals of SoT most; it was the most artistic and the most Prince of Persia-esque.
The sequels can't hold a candle to this game. Not even close. It has an air of innocence and wonder about it that is absent in the others. Making the Prince more "badboy" (for wider mass appeal according to Ubi) in the sequels, to me, drastically made him less likeable.His arrogance, naivety, distrust and ignorance made him come alive in the original. Farah was great also. Their playful banter throughout made some of the best character development ever seen in a game.
@rekunta But the Prince's descent into hatred and selfishness was a necessary and major part of the overall story, since the trilogy is basically the tale of the Prince's fall and redemption. Just as night has to fall before dawn can break, so too did the Prince have to descend before he could rise again as the hero of his kingdom.
Early on, she'd say, "what are you looking at?", etc, then later, "your eyes....they're green." as their relationship progressed. It was just little details like that that put it over the edge from the others to me. There was personality and soul.
Also, the visuals were amazing. The Prince is rendered and animated beautifully. The level design is very well done. My only complaints are the camera (it's TERRIBLE), and the combat. Everything else is perfect.
I really loved Sands of Time. Ever since I watched the original Prince in the original game on my brothers computer ( Commodore or what it was), I wanted to play a game like this. It had such mystery, adventure and intrigue to it that really sets it apart, and I loved the storytelling aspect to it. This game is a true gem!
The ending of Sands of Time was really awesome and sad. Really, who could have thought the entire game was just a tale Prince was telling Farah. And she didn't even believe it :-( I was like 100% sure they would be together in the end, but they wouldn't, life's harsh. Poor Prince... was really sorry for him.
God bless Ubisoft, they reunited in The Two Thrones. :-)

1) Both games were involved by bringing their series into the 3D Polygonal World in a new generation of gaming.
2) They are both arguably the best in their entire series.

I understand it was required for the story but it still lost something in execution. TT was a step back in the right direction, but still nowhere as good. That feeling of wonder and majesty were absent in both sequels, and I attribute this mostly to Jordan Mechner not having such a decisive role as a member of the team.
Little details also made it incredible. Staring at Farah would get different responses that would change the further along the story progressed. (Cont.)

@rekunta Yeah, that is true. I personally like "Warrior Within" least of the three, and I love "Two Thrones" the most, because that was the game that chronicled his battle and final triumph over his inner darkness. It was cool that by the end of it all, he had found a balance in himself. He wasn't the naive lad we first saw in SoT, but he also wasn't the emo prick we had to put up with in WW. And I do like the visuals of SoT most; it was the most artistic and the most Prince of Persia-esque.

The sequels can't hold a candle to this game. Not even close. It has an air of innocence and wonder about it that is absent in the others. Making the Prince more "badboy" (for wider mass appeal according to Ubi) in the sequels, to me, drastically made him less likeable.His arrogance, naivety, distrust and ignorance made him come alive in the original. Farah was great also. Their playful banter throughout made some of the best character development ever seen in a game.
Please make another!

@rekunta But the Prince's descent into hatred and selfishness was a necessary and major part of the overall story, since the trilogy is basically the tale of the Prince's fall and redemption. Just as night has to fall before dawn can break, so too did the Prince have to descend before he could rise again as the hero of his kingdom.

Early on, she'd say, "what are you looking at?", etc, then later, "your eyes....they're green." as their relationship progressed. It was just little details like that that put it over the edge from the others to me. There was personality and soul.
Also, the visuals were amazing. The Prince is rendered and animated beautifully. The level design is very well done. My only complaints are the camera (it's TERRIBLE), and the combat. Everything else is perfect.

I really loved Sands of Time. Ever since I watched the original Prince in the original game on my brothers computer ( Commodore or what it was), I wanted to play a game like this. It had such mystery, adventure and intrigue to it that really sets it apart, and I loved the storytelling aspect to it. This game is a true gem!

I get goosebumps everytime I listen to this song.
POPSOFT was an extremely amazing game.
On the other hand the others such as WW
and T2T have a completly different atmosphere,
a different story hardly connected to Sands Of Time.
POPSOFT was a very memorable game and will always be!

The ending of Sands of Time was really awesome and sad. Really, who could have thought the entire game was just a tale Prince was telling Farah. And she didn't even believe it :-( I was like 100% sure they would be together in the end, but they wouldn't, life's harsh. Poor Prince... was really sorry for him.
God bless Ubisoft, they reunited in The Two Thrones. :-)

So nice song!! I love Prince of Persia... I love this song! I love everything with Prince... :D I was crying when I played the game and Farah died... I cryed on the end... It is so nice, when she said "be careful" and he said "no, YOU be careful" .. :D Warrior within is not so romantic... And Kaileena is strange... Farah is better.. :D
