  • webbie rap over it

  • i would like to listen group home on this

Listening to old school just might solve people's problems nowadays.

For me, it reduces my stress, clears my mind, loosens the stress on my body, and I just relax. Plain... and.... simple.......

  • loveit

  • I love both guys, but Pete Rock and J Dilla have next to nothing in common musically. Dilla sounded a little like him at first but changed up his style and went in an alternative Hip Hop direction while Pete Rock went in his own direction too.

  • Kenny Rogers and his 8 fans voted this video down.

  • I would kill to hear C.L. Smooth or Nas over this beat.

  • 7 assholes dislike this song

  • @JMVEntertainment They are not assholes. Their ears are simply not as acute as needed to dissect and sincerely appreciate this masterpiece. In layman's terms, they don't have Soul. I pity them. :)

  • @Kroutoubi and they also fail; hail 90's

  • Comment removed

  • @JMVEntertainment 10 qeers need to clean the ear waxout there ears

  • @JMVEntertainment It's now 10 assholes. Brutal. If someone opts to dislike this, they should have to provide their real name, and current address in order for it to post. That oughta discourage tasteless chumps from offering their two cents.

  • @NINJASE7EN yeah over in one year! the only people that dislike this is the current generation

  • @JMVEntertainment now 10 asshole..... PSSSH this is good music, soul music, flow from da heart music

  • Am I seeing things or is the background changing colors, this track that he made is off the chain it adds the real hip-hop elements within Pete Rock is for real a legend ahead of his time and yes he does put these weak rap artists to shame with his beats. These artists today wont even know where to begin to write or freestyle without talking about money

  • the original sample hold tight change so much soul

  • @freaky21 when you listent to the original sample you can kinda see things clearer

  • i have sympathy for those who bash Hip Hop, and dont even realising what theyre really missing out on. (mistaking Hip Hop for Rap).

  • @mhaze210 RIIIIIGHT!!! It's like their mentality is....crap

  • I dare you to keep your head from nodding

thank god there's a Pete Rock to put his soul into dope music

  • hes a genius but....hip hop is dead....

  • tru but..not completely dead.

  • I wish music like this was heard on the average radio or media everyday. i dont need to complain about mainstream today...we all kno what its like. pete rock's production is next so next level...

  • Sick beats man.

  • I could hear slum village on this track.

  • and Common of course

  • sounds like a slowed down disoc track lol ...inspiration for another beat

  • wow. this whole album is sick

  • SICK TUNE!

    CHECK MY BEATS!

    PEACE

  • smooth, beautiful music from a genius of hip-hop.

  • there are elements of that 80s electronic track Salsa Smurf that was released on tommyboy records, someone correct me if im wrong

  • @colorpurple71 , yes you are correct i had both that ablum at the time , at first at didnt like at but as times has pass, i become to appreireciate it better, SALASA smurf, when i think at bout it it sounded some of that skrewed up!! down south shit,

  • yeaup its definitely the cuttoff frequency...

i remember messing with filters awhile back ago on sum of my beats, and i was looking for a way to recreate a wah sound...

so i found that if u automate the cuttoff frequency up and down, it does that, depending on how far u make it go up and down...

  • jay could of used this for that stuip ass blueprint 3 album instead of all that pop shit timberland did

  • Why is it that when someone realizes an album isn't as good as it is supposed to be it's hating? He's not hating on JayZ, in fact, he probably likes JayZ because he's showing concern for his work. You are a just a mindless consumer who just jumps on the bandwagon of whoever's hot at the time.

And lets be honest, compared to any of J's previous works, BP3 is shit.

  • Also CozmikMonkey and Dabeat19, if Jay shit was so wack, then y is it another numba one album? no single artist but Elvis Prestly did 11 numba one albums so please like I said before, y are u hatin? not saying Jay-z is the best ever cause he's not, but he is a monster

  • When did we ever disagree with you, we essentially just said that BP3 isn't as good as he old stuff. And as I said, we both like JayZ, he is and always will be an icon of hip hop; HOWEVER, just because his album is hot, it doesn't mean it's good--and, while I don't think it is a bad album, everyone saying it's good because of lack of options doesn't make it good.

    Even if everyone says 2 + 2 = 5, it still does not make 2 + 2 = 5.

  • Sorry to interject randomly but that 2 +2 = 5 thing made me wanna say 1984 was a badass book lol

  • I agree, thats one of my favorite lines out of that book.

  • Jay z is weird, he thinks he jesus christ... At least Kurupt used Pete Rock on his new album, he produced a song for kurupt called "Yessir" with a slick ass piano loop in it..

  • @Dabeat19 do not mention such a retarded ass rapper on here

  • @Dabeat19 money and suits don' t fit in this track =p

  • @Dabeat19 amen!

  • @Dabeat19 ... i totally agree with you...LOL

  • Funky ass shit right here!! ... Can't touch pete rock...

  • we are family

  • dude that is shit. sorry. learn to write rhymes. im an 18 year old white kid studying architecture and could prob lay down something better than this

  • aight, then do it..n let me know when its done so i can download the track or somethin

oh and my bad that second to last bar should say,..looking madly"/

  • You retard, this is instrumental hip-hop, a different genre than other versions. Saying this needs to be rapped over is like saying metal bands need to learn to play piano. I like it how it is.

  • Oh my GOD that is FUNK. I could tell from the first 5 seconds of the song that this shit was old school funky..damnnnnnnn

  • @gibbitup

    so funky man it's unreal

    doesnt get any better

it's like heroin without the addiction...erhm

  • P.R. IS the man.

  • He's done it again........... Hold tight by change. sweet filter.

  • You wanna make some hot coffee use a filter

-where da faders on the mixer?/

They got broke off like when me and ya sister/ had a poke off/ on some facebook shit/ i get lit/ late night in the study/ still in school tryin to study/ ya'll bout gettin money /I'm about gettin paper weights/ enough gold to hold economies in place/ this the planet of the apes/ it get wild in the States/ we don't do it for fakes/ ya'll b chillin wit the Jakes/ Save the world/ ima do my part/ leave it to me ima do MY art

  • its that smack in the beat that's just crazy!!

  • u mean the snare/clap lol

  • The 'Evidence' Elements from Pete

  • damn, i could hella pop to this, such an underrated producer.

  • Turn the FUNK up!!

  • 0:01 to 0:11

    That sounds so freakin cool!

  • nice stereo

  • Yea, messed with the love filter for a bit and got something similar to this.

  • Definately one of his best instrumentals yet
