Its not just about getting hypnotized, its about getting the response. You want to trigger a response in people so you casually slip (but pronounce in most utter perfection) the words you want them to write in their temporary memory. I see why there are so many pickpockets at the times when people come back from work. The tiredness is a sort of involuntary relaxed state. When you are tired, you are like a computer program running without a password.

In every case of simple hypnosis you can say that it's really due to minute variations in the tone, and that it's really NLP. Unless you specify which inflections Derren is using to reach the desired effect, I can't give your opinion any credibility.

What I like about him is that he admits when he cheats or misdirects people. As he said he's honest about his dishonesty and he does show failures or mistakes in his predictions e.g he lost £5000 on rulet table, tryed to pay with blank papers, guesed a wrong time on bystanders watch after he told her to change it for any time and so on. I can just admire him for what he does and skills he has.
