My sons have already been instructed that this is the final song that will be played at my memorial service. Simply because it is so very joyful and life affirming and I love it so much. Seems appropriate...
there's something genuine and innocent about this kind of music, great for both country and irish dancing in a group, loosen the annoying ones' reserve first with ale
@Xerxes4242 It is! It's the 'theme' song when Charlotte and Trey decide to marry. Trey's family is Scottish in heritage, and they have a Scottish wedding.
The boys can never know what this work has meant to me... all the way back to the moment I found it playing quite by chance as I walked into "The Nature Strore Company" in Chicago in '93. The only more achingly beautiful song I have ever heard comes but soon on this same album!
Both tunes, beautifully done...I just learned the Cowboy jig @ a fiddle workshop...like the Calliope House @ beginning & at end. Is this a Lifescape CD?
ah, I love love love this!! If anyone has, or knows some one that has or knows someone that knows someone that has the sheet music for the cowboy jig (the middle part) I would be so happy! I already know the calliope house, but the cowboy jig is harder to learn by ear.
@mariet1704 Don't know if you've found it already but many years ago I learned the Cow-Boy Jig out of Cole's 1001 Fiddletunes. And it's written very nearly just as Alaisdair plays it.
i LOVE this song it shows my true heritge also i have to dance to it for dance club
