@themaskedmongoloid thats because ur probably listening to the track on ur built in laptop speaker like me. to hear the difference u need to be listening to a stereo setup :)
Have you guys seen the Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE keyboard workstation from Music Computing? The integrated controller works beautifully with Ableton. Check out the videos on our profile! Follow the link below!
i have automated panning in my track so the hats are panning from left to right every half bar or whatever.. unlike yours where you have just set it to left 10 or right 10 etc. do you know why when i open the track and make small edits this automation is deactivated by ableton. i have to select the "back to arrangement" button a number of times before the automation is reactived?? why is this??
Very good advice but I would use a real, natural sounding drum kit for purpose of tutorial. In this shitty electro music everything sound the same although I got your point and I agree.
Hey, thanks a lot for the tutoria... - great Tips..! - i have a question that hopefully you can help me out with.. - I've heard some good productions where you can literally feel certain sounds begin way on the back, and some right on your face... such as: upright bass and acoustic guitar on the 'back' and the voice, very clear and crispy in front... how do they do that sort of ''forwarda - back'' panning..? (no left and right panning there) - is it just a manipulation of volumes..??
I've watched several of your videos today and I've got to say that your pace/delivery/explanations are paced just perfectly. Don't change a thing. :-)
thank u

Can I take a recording that is only playing out through one speaker and put it through both, or do I need to record with both inputs for the origins?

Thanks. Very informative and easy to follow. It's these small but oh, so critical tips that are helping me as a beginning producer.

you actually made the mistake of panning the 2nd tom by 17% instead of 16%

I think they use reverb and ambiance for that effect. The greater the reverb, the more distant sound becomes.

Or you can manipulate the EQ in order to crystallise some sound frequencies over others.
