The Skeleton Dance was one of my favorites to see around Halloween. The Disney Channel used to show it when they still aired classic shorts, but those days are long gone. Hopefully they'll take a page from Cartoon Network, who has begun re-airing Looney Tunes, and bring back the classics instead of the cookie cutter nonsense they're showing now.

@TorchQuilly there's a reason for that. executives today prefer to bring out content in a fast, cheap and effective way. To them quality comes from the entertainment, not from the quality of the animation. that's why you see flash/go animated cartoons. You can say that computers killed the 2D animation phenomenon. It's not just American animation that's suffering. It's also japan. their standards have been drastically crippled because of the Japanese economy.

@TorchQuilly A lot of high schools in japan offer animation as a coarse. because of that, there are a lot of animators and few studios who want them. therefore it is hard looking for work and pay is extremely cheap(700yen an hour....that's more work than McDonald). so we got cheap workers and amateur animators. The only way to find good 2D animations these days are from top studios like Nickelodeon(korean animators), Studio 4°C(international team), Disney, Gainax,studio ghibli etc.

Lately, I've been seeing some really good student work and some french animation movies(Sylvain Chomet good animator and popular here. you could say his movies are silent movies). I know all this crap because I will soon work in the industry. not as an animator(though I do want to be one someday) but as an illustrator and concept artists. Currently a student =.= hope you learned something.
