Once the Civil War was over, the Nationalist Government and anyone who didn't see their failures, left the mainland as political refugees. It is like the US Civil War only difference is that China had foreign interference to safeguard the Nationalist's Haven. If you're still confused I'd be happy to help.

@tommyasia1 其实中国很像韩国 其实都一模一样。 最后会有一个另对方都满意的 结果。 所以大家现在要把眼光放长远一点。 台湾省的不一定都支持ROC 大陆地区的也不一定都支持 PRC 所以不能用太短浅的眼光来看 毕竟我们国家分裂才60年 我们都还是一家人 所以思想不会偏差太远。 我最不能理解的就是那些宣称台湾国 的人， 他们难道不觉得中华民国这个名字更有力量么？？
