Actually, if I should be honest, I have hard to se Snape as a Death Eater. I mean with the mask and so. Sure, I didn't like him at al after the sixth book, but after seventh book... I can't see him like that. Ever!
I keep wondering how everything would be different...: Snape marrying Lily, Neville being the chosen one, Voldemort not being conceive during a love potion, Harry's parents still being alive, house elves not being slaves, Dobby not dying, Draco being a Gryffindor, Fred not dying.... Snape didnt want to be a Deatheater anymore, sice YouKnowWho killed Lilly. Then, in Harry´s forth year, the Dark Mark appeard again, and he didnt want that, he wants to be free. But

He had to turn back to Voldemort, even fake. At the end, he dies because of that. I think thats why. But Draco is very logic to!
Have you read all 7 books? It fits Snape's story because he originally turned to the dark side after having his heart broken by Lilly, but he regretted it. He didn't want to work for the dark lord, and had his biggest change of heart when they wanted to kill Lilly. He pleaded with them to spare Lilly but they wouldn't because she got in the way of Lord Voldemort trying to kill Harry (although I doubt he would have ever spared her). Anyway, he knew if he left he'd be killed.

*Sniffle/Sob* Oh Sev! D: I was the idiot killing my best friends hand when Snape was dying. I was dreading the moment! And BAD SONG! Good Snape won in the end. Po' Snape, I think that out of all the characters, he deserved a happy ending the most. It just wouldn't have been good for the plot.

Never would've happened. Snape would've even defied Rowling on that one.
Maybe in the next life they could've come to some mutual (nevertheless begrudging), respect because of Snape's devotion in protecting Harry (even though it was still only for Lily's sake), but certainly no where near friend terms.

@piticot004 Precisely. One side thinks people CAN change, the other thinks people CANNOT. The cannot side wins in the end, presumably around the time Lily ditches him or the time she dies. The "can" side believed he could change for Lily, believed his love for her was stronger his love for Dark Magic, the "cannot" side believes that he could never change enough to make Lily love him. Sadly, if he HAD stopped treating Muggleborns like he did and stopped with the Dark Magic... She would have.

@fugor001 Snape MIGHT have ended up with Lily if he hadn't called her a mudblood. I feel a little sorry for Snape, but he wasn't the nicest guy. Potter was a big-headed jerk sometimes, but he was an okay guy, especially once he deflated his big head. Snape learned a valuable lesson, don't insult the person you like with the worst possible insult possible.
@arrieissocoollike Ah, but Voldemort thought that Severus was the master of the Elder Wand; if that were so, it would not have killed him, like it didn't Harry. That's how he won. So Voldie thought that a good old fashioned Avada Kedavra would not have worked.

I know Snape, as Dumbledore's spy, did many things to help Harry in his fight against Voldemort. I just don't understand why Snape always hated Harry so much (and he did, if you read the books!). I know it's partly because Harry looked so similar to James, but you would think Snape would realize Lily would have wanted her son treated kindly by Snape...
When I saw the Deathly Hallows p2, I literally started bawling when Snape said to Harry, "You have your mother's eyes." I was crying so hard that the people on either side of me were looking at me like "What the fuck?" And at my friend like "Should we be worried...?" It was terrible. Then, the next day when I was doing my hair, I started crying because I thought of how he said it, how he'd never get to be with Lily because she's STILL with James. The book was better except when Snape said that.
Snape was on Voldemort's side until he heard the prophecy. Once he realized that Voldemort was going to kill the love of his life, he appealed to Dumbledore to save her life. James and Lily trusted Wormtail instead of Sirius; that's why they died. It was partly Snape's fault, partly their own. After James and Lily died Snape was on Dumbledore's side, acting as a spy against Voldemort.
@liliakang If you actually read the books ud kno he actually is an evil cruel greasy haired man from start to finish. The only thing he ever did was obsess over lily and any good he did was in her memory mainly because he was the one that got her killed. just the facts

I used to dislike snape. As he went on for me, he sounded like a ass.
First there was always insulting Gryffindors.
Then there was him subtracting points for Gryffindor, and never adding any points.
And then in the beggining of Half-Blood prince, i saw he was a spy for Voldemort, and was going to help someone kill Dumbledore.
And THEN he killed dumbledore.
So i would be willing to blow him up myself, and then Dumbledores ghost-thing explained everything. Now i feel guilty. aaaaaa

*Sniffle/Sob* Oh Sev! D: I was the idiot killing my best friends hand when Snape was dying. I was dreading the moment! And BAD SONG! Good Snape won in the end. Po' Snape, I think that out of all the characters, he deserved a happy ending the most. It just wouldn't have been good for the plot.

Never would've happened. Snape would've even defied Rowling on that one.
Maybe in the next life they could've come to some mutual (nevertheless begrudging), respect because of Snape's devotion in protecting Harry (even though it was still only for Lily's sake), but certainly no where near friend terms.

@piticot004 Precisely. One side thinks people CAN change, the other thinks people CANNOT. The cannot side wins in the end, presumably around the time Lily ditches him or the time she dies. The "can" side believed he could change for Lily, believed his love for her was stronger his love for Dark Magic, the "cannot" side believes that he could never change enough to make Lily love him. Sadly, if he HAD stopped treating Muggleborns like he did and stopped with the Dark Magic... She would have.

@fugor001 Snape MIGHT have ended up with Lily if he hadn't called her a mudblood. I feel a little sorry for Snape, but he wasn't the nicest guy. Potter was a big-headed jerk sometimes, but he was an okay guy, especially once he deflated his big head. Snape learned a valuable lesson, don't insult the person you like with the worst possible insult possible.

@storyofsarah It's partly cause he hated the fact that he lost Lily to James, and Harry was a product of that, but also cause if Harry had never been born Lily wouldn't have died trying to protect him from Voldemort. He hates Harry cause she died for him, hope I helped with my nerdyness =))

I know Snape, as Dumbledore's spy, did many things to help Harry in his fight against Voldemort. I just don't understand why Snape always hated Harry so much (and he did, if you read the books!). I know it's partly because Harry looked so similar to James, but you would think Snape would realize Lily would have wanted her son treated kindly by Snape...

When I saw the Deathly Hallows p2, I literally started bawling when Snape said to Harry, "You have your mother's eyes." I was crying so hard that the people on either side of me were looking at me like "What the fuck?" And at my friend like "Should we be worried...?" It was terrible. Then, the next day when I was doing my hair, I started crying because I thought of how he said it, how he'd never get to be with Lily because she's STILL with James. The book was better except when Snape said that.

Snape was on Voldemort's side until he heard the prophecy. Once he realized that Voldemort was going to kill the love of his life, he appealed to Dumbledore to save her life. James and Lily trusted Wormtail instead of Sirius; that's why they died. It was partly Snape's fault, partly their own. After James and Lily died Snape was on Dumbledore's side, acting as a spy against Voldemort.
