@michaeljohnbooth I'm glad that you liked it. From the first time I heard it, I loved it. It was only a few years ago that I got the inspiration to join this beautiful melody with scenic pictures. Thanks for your comment.
when i hear this piece i can just drift away and forget all the troubles in the world. such a relaxing piece of music. takes me to another place. thanks so much jimmy2001aus for posting this
Lovely vid and the best version of this beautiful tune. Some of the pics do look a bit surreal (almost alien!) but it has to be said, when you see what our World looks like, its positively glorious isn't it?
Thanks for your gracious comment. This is one of my favorite pieces of music. The Mantovani orchestra is performing in this video and of all the renditions I've heard of the melody, Mantovani's is my favorite.
The light programme was a great raido station in the 1960 and 1970 my parents used to lisen it as well They were homesick for Old England I do believe now. 'They were IRISH' who had worked in Old England in the 1950 . This song rekindles all of my memories of that Era
This reminds me of sitting at the breakfast table in the early 1950's with my beautiful Mam...This music was always on the Light programme...Thanks for posting it!
My old neighbour who died recently aged 90+ was an accomplished piano accordeon player. He used to play this beautifully, sitting outside his house in summer time...great memories
In several references I checked, nothing is mentioned about it being composed for the Queen. Wikipedia says that Elizabethan Serenade was composed for Mantovani in 1952 by a british musician/composer named Ronald Binge. There are works of art and music relegated to a period of history known as the Elizabethan period (1558-1603), and I believe that this lilting melody reflects the type of music popular during that period.
Thanks for the comment. I'd like to see a video of your band performing this beautiful piece of music. It would make a nice project for you and get you some internet exposure. Whaddaya think?
Thanks for the comment. Ahh, Ireland what a beautiful place. Never been there, but I have enjoyed pictures and videos of the "Emerald Isle". I will visit someday.

baza, I have an old tape of Australian artist (I think) singing this. She is Suzanne Clachair and the tape is called Barcarolle.
She has a fabulous voice and was once a support act for Julie Iglesias when he came to Australia on tour.
