Granting a marriage licence is constitutionally protected as a STATE RIGHT! I wish we'd quit wasting time trying to find a way to circumvent what should be a general referendum on a state by state basis. Alaska put it to a vote and the people spoke; enough said. I'd be supportive of gay marriage If my state, Oklahoma, if they would allow my voice to be heard but I suppose that the idea is WAY too terrifying to discuss amongst my fellow citizens.
See if you don't want to "sit in a seat of judgement" then, by definition, you need to keep your opinions to yourself. There's having opinions and there's pushing legislation that dictates what people can and can't do.
If you're against gay marriage, don't marry a lady. If you're anti-abortion, don't have an abortion. Anything else is pushing your beliefs on other people.
Then WHY do so many straight marriages end in divorce? What the hell are you trying to PROTECT when the vast majority of you don't respect the institution yourselves. Get a life of your own, Palin, not ours.
LOL "traditional". Very few people have a 'traditional" marriage. It's ok for her daughter to get knocked up at 17 and than force the guy to marry her but two ADULTS can't get married because of her "traditional" values?! Is this bitch for real?!
Why is Palin so hateful? I don't understand why she demonizes someone like Mary Cheney whom Dick Cheney is so proud of. What does Palin propose the punishment should be for couples like Mary Cheney and Heather Poe who adopted a young boy?
As a US citizen I'm completely ashamed of the fact that there are tens of millions of illiterate, hateful christians in this country that have the right to vote.
thats right....marriage should only be aproved between two nonconsenting teens...or someone who gets knocked up because their secessionist bf doesnt believe in condoms
fuck this bitch....will someone please feed her to a polar bear?
Well I don't support marriage for dumb-asses such as yourself, how's that? But you married in spite of MY beliefs. Did I survive that? Yes. (If I need to explain my point now, you're seriously f'ed.) Religious freaks, here's your candidate.
I wonder what Sarah's fake gay friend would say about Sarah's believes BIG GOVT. should prevent her from entering into a state contract? Here's a prime reason why the Constitution guarantees equal protection under the law - to save it's citizens from religious tyranny - not to mention a separation of church & state. Tell that snake-handling yokel that you can't legislate against a segment of the population just because you don't like them. I can't WAIT until the Repug party is dead forever.
In Palin's world, they would use the gender police to make sure couples have the appropriate plumbing before giving them a marriage license. What gives her the right to decide who should love whom? If they believe that homosexuality is a choice, then they are admitting that at one point, even though they were attracted to both genders, they chose to be heterosexual. If they never made a choice, then why would they think that anyone makes those choices???
jesus.....how could you even conceivably support someone so stupid? you know what happens when you try to run a system of government off religeous beliefs? they collapse. history has proven this time and again, just look at the middle ages. and combining church and state is just one of her problems.....
So if she's so for traditional marriage would she be for an amendment to abolish divorce? That's more a threat to "traditional marriage" than 10% of the population getting married.
You have a point about the divorce amendment. But let me just correct you for a moment. You're not even close on percentage of population that is homosexual. It's not even close to 10 percent. It's around 3-5 percent of the US population. Which is probably why gay marriage is always crushed when it comes up for a state vote. Personally, I am against a federal amendment...ridiculous. In my opinion it should be decided on a state by state basis. That is was both candidates believe.
People like her make me sick.

Palin shouldn't be on TV, she should be home cleaning the house, or making dinner for her husband so its ready when he gets home.
mase5701 1 year ago
She uses her faith (belief in supernatural magic) to justify denying the rights of other humans. That's simply unacceptable.

Good luck trying to convince the people of California of that.

Will she support a ban on divorce? That seems the GREATEST threat to marriage.
What a hypocrite...

She doesn't want to tell people what "they can or cannot do", but by banning gay marriage, that is exactly what she would be doing.
But she won't, because the American electorate isn't so stupid as to elect you into power.

How about civil rights should never be put up to a vote. Period.
