She probably didn't want to worry her husband to make him think that she had to do it, she was calm because its what they chose to do to save A LOT of people, and there was no screaming because they obvs didn't want the hijackers to know that they figured it out... Im in the Cell phone industry my self. Id say I know a thing or two. First, the speed of the plane would have to be taken into consideration. Depending on her carrier, you would be able to hear a small click between cell towers when the call goes from one tower to another. I would enhance the audio to hear backround noise and go from there. Just my opinion. This call was NOT made from a cellular phone. The amount of hard or soft transfers during the duration of that call would cause drop!

They weren't flying at cruising altitude when the cell phone calls took place on 9/11. Cruising alt. is between 30-60,000 feet I think for commercial flights. When ALL calls were made, planes were well below 30,000 feet and well within range of cell phone towers.
My problem is with the Government, who says almost all calls were made with seat back airfones in the 757s, but the 757s didn't have them. AA told people that cell phones were used because they didn't have airfones.

Also, at cruising altitude, they tell you that you are allowed to turn your laptops and cellphones back on. They've gone on record to say this, and also went on to say that all passengers *had* to use their cellphones as they did not carry on board airphones for public use. 3. A few seconds after I heard the "whisper", I heard (again, what sounded to me) like she says "I'm sorry".

@inr21sevier Don't be silly. There is no warning for hijacking, but there are alarms from the computer when the plane has gone very very off course from what the computer-auto-pilot is meant to. Also the people flying the planes were not good pilots, and used jerky motions when steering the plane. There are all kinds of warnings that go off when you deviate from safety standards of flying.

Im in the Cell phone industry my self. Id say I know a thing or two. First, the speed of the plane would have to be taken into consideration. Depending on her carrier, you would be able to hear a small click between cell towers when the call goes from one tower to another. I would enhance the audio to hear backround noise and go from there. Just my opinion. This call was NOT made from a cellular phone. The amount of hard or soft transfers during the duration of that call would cause drop!

They weren't flying at cruising altitude when the cell phone calls took place on 9/11. Cruising alt. is between 30-60,000 feet I think for commercial flights. When ALL calls were made, planes were well below 30,000 feet and well within range of cell phone towers.
My problem is with the Government, who says almost all calls were made with seat back airfones in the 757s, but the 757s didn't have them. AA told people that cell phones were used because they didn't have airfones.

Also- I'm not debunking anything, OR confirming conspiracy here. I flew on a 757 twice in 2002, American Airlines at that, and they had no seat-back airphones. Also, at cruising altitude, they tell you that you are allowed to turn your laptops and cellphones back on. You DO have service at cruising altitude depending on your service provider, but most calls drop after two or three minutes.

Just want to clear up one thing- This call HAD to have been made from a cell phone, as is the case with every call from Flight 93. American Airlines Boeing 757 models did NOT have ANY on board airphones for civilian use in 2001. The only airphones are in the cockpit, and all of these calls were made before they went into the cockpit. Not only that, but if you're on a hijacked plane, you wouldn't waste time trying to use your credit card on the airphone, would you?

Funny thing is, American Airlines model Boeing 757 planes did not have airphones available to the passengers on the planes. The only airphones in their 757s at the time were in the cockpit. They've gone on record to say this, and also went on to say that all passengers *had* to use their cellphones as they did not carry on board airphones for public use. Two in the cockpit, two in the flight attendants station (the attendant's airphones are always locked for their use only).

They use the phone on the plane thats why you can hear a sound of a phone hanging up. Second before you say they can't use the plane phone while in flight. You are wrong!!!! You can use the plane phone if you are in a lower alttitude which flight 93 was is for awhile before they crash.

In listening to this call, a few questions came to mind:
1. Since when do you "hang up" a cell phone? Even for back then, all you have to do is click a button. I heard (what sounds to me) a phone receiver being placed on the dock/base. (Again, just what I heard).
2. I heard someone whisper "You did great".
3. A few seconds after I heard the "whisper", I heard (again, what sounded to me) like she says "I'm sorry".

@inr21sevier Don't be silly. There is no warning for hijacking, but there are alarms from the computer when the plane has gone very very off course from what the computer-auto-pilot is meant to. Also the people flying the planes were not good pilots, and used jerky motions when steering the plane. There are all kinds of warnings that go off when you deviate from safety standards of flying.
