I can identify so much with this situation having been alienated from my daughter for 10 years (since she was 11). The difference is that I didn't do anything negative. I was just alienated from her by her mother. Watching Paper Moon after this, makes me think that there was no real acting on either part. The constant bickering looks like it came naturally to both of them.
