  • Bloody great song.My 60s band have just added it to our play list.

  • Imo this is possibly the most underated songs of all time.

Recorded by several Groups, I think this is possibly the best version, even then it was only a minor hit in 64.

Other Groups have put a harder shall we say more raw edge to it but all excellent.

At the time there were so many Top Class Groups/Tracks that I think this just got swallowed up in the general euphoria of 64.

    Never fully appreciated.

I believe The Herd recorded it somewhere, unable to find it...anyone any ideas please.

  • Fab song, Thanks for the post, Tezza the Manch...........

  • I was searching for comin book team, not this shit

  • @ChaseMe2TheSky you sir, are a real two-faced cunt.

  • Met Mike Linnell at the recording of COUNTDOWN in Manchester;he was a little shell-shocked after the thrashing he took in the game (which he admitted as such),but he was a nice bloke.

  • I think this a brilliant record, one of the best 60s tracks. No one understands why it was not a bigger hit in 1964.

However check out The Inmates version of it . slightly differnt but with a sort of raw, hard edge to it, a very good and interesting track.

I am interested in what others think of it.

  • The contestant on Countdown today (on right now !) was in The Mighty Avengers ! He mentioned this song so I looked it up. Countdown will be on Channel 4 +1 at 4.10pm today in case anyone wants to catch it from the start. Interesting this song was number 2 in Australia - keeping the Stones at 3 !!!!

  • @ZoomingAndy I missed the intro and only caught the name of the band; I knew I had it on an LP and I've been looking for it. I'm amazed that I remembered the song title correctly!

  • @ZoomingAndy great info..what was the stones hit at the time

  • I still have a scratchy old 45!

  • great oldie...never tire of this ...

  • Great...5*****

  • Great song great performance just love this record superamos31

  • Finally got a copy of this on .45. Great song, thanks again for posting it.

  • love this !

  • Always a pleasure to hear this one. I'm currently searching for my own copy of this 45,and hoping very much I'll find it !

This song, like most of their own compositions, reflects well on Messrs Jagger and Richards. Great stuff !

  • Thanks for posting the video, I found this record on Ebay and won it and now have the record in my hands. My British merseybeat record collection is growing!!!

  • Yes, there is a full Rolling Stones- recorded version of it, allthough I only heard a glymphse of it as part of a medley, containing bits of early Jagger/Richards material

  • oooooo yes I remember this one!! thanx John for this great share my freind .... much appreciated ... long live the wonderful 60s' never to be forgotten .. yeah !!!!!! Lyndloo...

  • Great memories of Top Ten Club Belle Vue Manchester, Jimmy Savi££e played So Much In Love Every Sunday late 64 early 65, had not heard this record since 1965 until I found it on You Tube, what a great find. How this was not a top ten hit still escapes me.

  • It was a HUGE hit in Australia.

  • 000KR4SH00 .. the Stones also recoreded Blue turns to Grey....one of my favorite songs from their old stuff. hv gday!

  • I cannot help wondering if this was re-released now and given proper airplay it would be a hit.

But of course it would never recieve air play.

IMO, one of the best 60s records, why it was not a bigger hit,is a complete mystery.

  • One of the best bands ever to come out of Coventry.

  • shoudve been top ten

  • is this originally by the rolling stones??? if so....does anyone know what album of the stones this is off???

  • @000KR4SH00 ... The Stones never recorded this. It was one of several Mick & Keith wrote and passed on to other bands, such as 'Blue Turns To Grey' which was later recorded by Cliff Richard.

  • Classic song from 1964 which should've been a much bigger hit than it was, as it only reached number 46 in November that year.

  • Catchy song.

  • I don't remember the band, but the song reminds me so much of this fantastic era in music.

  • Of course!. I'd forgot that. Thanks for the info :)

  • That is one great song. I like better than Ian & The Zodiacs. If you ever come across another copy please let me know.
