One time when I was at my local beach, a big wave (not quite as curvy and big as the ones in the vid but still pretty huge) crashed on me, and I almost drowned. It wasn't that I couldn't swim, it was because I got shaken by the wave and couldn't feel the sand below, so I didn't know which way was up or down. Eventually, I felt the bottom and was so relieved.

But now I'm more careful in the waves. I wouldn't do THAT.
