Equarg. Your pretty stupid for posting stuff about killing deer. On a animal lover's movie. Your pretty stupid for posting that even though you only kill to eat.
@ooliveric first time i saw watership down it REALLY scared me its genuinly a scary film for me! but when hazzel died i vowed never to watch it again. i never thought about it for like 5 years untill yesterday when i found the song "bright eyes" on my phone! lol (this made me cry again!)
my ferrets are trained 2 go dwn rabbit holes and chase them in2 the nets but my ferrets r so clever that the jills (girl ferret) goes 2 the bottom 2 chase why the hobs (boy ferret) work on the top 2 chase them in2 the nets and thats when its time 2 take the rabbit home and put food on the table and ferreting is the best but it good thow coz it stops rabbits gettin that dieases and up setting farmers xx
im not trying to get a thumbs up,but as a watership down fan, something bores me, not in this movie but in the seires, they made bigwig a dumbass, bigwig as we seen in the original movie was the only rabbit who could fight vs general,and they put champion a much stronger rabbit than bigwig?fuck this shit man...bigwig and hazel ftw! btw really nice vid :)
Its interesting this stuff horrified people other than me as a kid. I lost my sh*t as a five year old watching this movie, now I have this morbid curiosity to revisit it. I have to say in a weird drunken way I sort of identify with equards post.
@jimbopumbapigsticks: Hazel sees and then follows El-ahrairah. And though it isn't the Black Rabbit, both get the title "My Lord," because both represent something powerful and meaningful to the rabbits--in the case of the Black Rabbit, death.
@KazigluTepes My theory is that it's the Black Rabbit using El-ahrairah as a mask to ease Hazel into death, since El-ahrairah wasn't supposed to be a religious figure but more of a folk hero to rabbits. But Hazel still knows and accepts what's happening, as he only says 'yes, my lord - I know you' when the Black Rabbit shows his real face. Maybe that's reading too much into it.
@jimbopumbapigsticks: I think it might be...Adams didn't imply much of that in the book, and this is pretty true to the book. That being said, the similarity is interesting.
I think it would have been better to have this end with Hazel dying. That way, we could never tell whether El-ahrairah was a real, religious being in the story...or just some comforting hallucination. I think that'd give it more meaning.
@KazigluTepes I dunno, Hazel just dropping down dead would have been a bum note to end on. And it's pretty ambiguous as it is, though it's pretty explicit that Hazel's soul was collected by something and returned to something. I think the mythology stuff that bookends the film is supposed to symbolize that everything with a beginning has an ending, and that that ending isn't something to be afraid of.
I remember as a child i cried at the end when Hazel died! I've been looking for this movie for the last 12yrs just couldn't remember the name , thanks PhantomWolf222 for helping me find it
this is so beautiful. it shows that death doesn't have to be some horrible, ominous thing. this book and movie were very bloody and i almost got a fear-of-death vide, especially from Fiver. but the Black Rabbit wasn't evil. he was just doing his job. and Hazel was free to run about the hills again. truly touching. thank you for making this <3
If there is one thing that I remember from this movie, it was this scene. I didn't quite understand as a kid when it came to the story, but the ending was clear to me that he was happy.
All these hypocrites bashing "equarg" need to get a life and stop whining over how he's a murderer. What he said about animals not being cute is true. Seriously, does NO ONE remember the lady who got mauled by that chimpanzee a year or two ago? Or the numerous people attacked by bears?
I understand that animals have souls. Heck, my stepmother's cat passed away last year. However, I think it's bullshit to judge a person because they have to hunt something to eat.
Death is as natural as the sun coming up every morning. For everything, there is a time to live and a time to die. Perfectly natural and part of the cycle of life. We are born, we live and then we die. It's not morbid, it's not cruel. It's just the natural order of things.
@moondancer162 I wish people wouldn't get all emotive and actually think before posting antagonistic replies to things they read on YouTube. Such a statement might actually help them find strength and to realise that the loss of a loved one is, indeed, all part of the rich tapestry of life.
@JFredUK thats true but why do we and animals live? only evolution? when does the evolution stop? then every die ,we live only for evolution ?why lives the man 100 years and the child 1 week?
@Singstar12345678 Frith, the creator god, is the sun. Inlé is the moon. The Black Rabbit is the Grim Reaper of the rabbit's cosmology. He does Frith's bidding, and while frightening and implacable as, well, death, he is neither evil nor malicious.
It's in the novel: do yourself a favour and seek out a copy. It's a fantastic read.
It shatters my heart everytime i see it...this was a great movie...the music fits very well...its from naruto i think???Sorry for my eventually bad english im from germany...greetings to all youtube users!!!
I love how the movie approaches death as part of life, not somethng bad. In so many movies, if someone dies, it's evil. But, death comes to us all. If rabbits know that, then surely we can learn from them.
@TrueEnergizerBunnies wow, really. wow, thats wat the world needs. an animal life saver. cause wat people don't no is your not just hurting a animal, ur hurting yourself. thats cause we are all part of gods plan.
Our lovely rabbit called Hazel died on Tuesday. I held her in my arms and she was still so warm. I hope she knew I was there for her. She will be so missed.
It was El-ahrairah that called Hazel at first. You only see the Black Rabbit afterwards. The Black Rabbit is not mentioned at the time of Hazel's death at the end of the book.
Actually for a hunter I am quite liberal (but a conservative politically). I love wolves and cougars, I will never hunt them. I just get one deer a year..I spent years learning their habits. As for animals being innocent, NO. They lack the concept of innocence/guilt. Don't get me wrong..I actually believe they have a soul..an essence. But people forget they fight every day to survive. They are not cute Disney animals. If harassed enough they will attack..and kill. Deer too.
@equarg thank you for making my point even more clear, animals kill because they have to survive, the hunters I'm revering to, are killing for 'sports' or just for fun. I eat meat, I'm not against killing animals for food, that's a necessity, But just for fun? get a life, don't take one.
Thank you....My rule is you shoot it..you eat it. No questions. You shoot a wolf..fine....eat it. Yea I thought so. One old timer told me cougar was good eating...not my cup of tea. So I don't hunt them. Shooting for the sake of killing is 100% wrong and wasteful. The only exception is shooting a rabid, ill, wounded road kill, or self defense. I will never hunt for only an antler, skin, or only a single part of an animal.
@equarg I burried four rabbits (Cuddlez, Bugs, Elmo and Theo), six cats (Browny, Conan, Luke, Leia, Shredder and Junior) and one parrot (Winston) in the last 30 years.
I´d wish to see them again when someone else has performed the duty to put me six feet under.
@equarg It's a nice thought....But sadly inaccurate. There isn't a heaven for anyone. (You must have missed yr 10 in primary)
And......If you believe there is a heaven, then don't you think you'd miss out because you are a self confessed animal murderer? ........And why do you sit pondering whether an animal (a deer for example) has a soul or not when you are quite happy to kill it anyway?
I cannot comprehend how someone obviously religious or spirtual like yourself can happily kill for fun.
Look I may be a hunter...but I do not kill for fun! I shoot it I eat it! Period. I hunt because I want to put some natural non processed food in my freezer, and I get to see sometimes some cool animal behavior. When you are hunting, you see things that loud noisy hikers don't get too. Some years I don't get anything, even if I don't I usually see SOMETHING cool.
I have looked into the eyes of a dying deer. I saw something leave it's eyes. I name each deer so I will never forget them
@equarg people like you make me sick. You fool no one but the idiots on youtube. I spend day in and day out helping animals, especially the weak and hungry, while scum like you snuff them out for a fucking sport, and in their father's home. i feel no pity for trash like you when you have accidents in the forest...careful with those guns around your children, bitch.
As I always have to repeat...I shoot it I eat it. I do not hunt for sport!! I in fact get into trouble bringing home injured animals and helping them. I even once helped a doe stuck in our fence get out (legs caught). She was cut up bad, but her legs were not broken. If legs not broken they are tough animals and can live (saw her a few weeks later) I hunt not to kill, but to see nature up close and personal. I had a doe walk past be 10 feet away oblivious to my presence w/ her fawn.
I was ground level with her..and her fawn ate not 3 feet away from me. Lets see a noisy hiker do that! (let her go, wanted a buck) I hunt with a sense of respect. Nature is not kind, does not show mercy, and death is often painful and slow. I do one shot one bullet w/in a average of 60 yards. Never lost a deer, they never felt pain. I actually love cougars and wolves, I dream of seeing them in the wild, I want to get a photo of them, not shoot them (will not eat them).
As for me being a trashy B.....Reserve that for people who think they are hunters who do canned hunts or trap shooting. Those people are lazy cowards. If you want to target practice use clay pigeons, not the real pigeon.
I have a gun yes, but I don't keep it around the house (in a safe off of property)
I hunt to put meat in the freezer, organic and free range. I also name the deer after I shoot it so I will never forget them, Petra, George, Hamlet, Tined Tim, Bella, Mark Anthony.
Hmmm everyday you killtousands of microbes with every breath, fun over who knows what tiny critters with your car, enjoy the animal based soap and foods that you uses every day, and you call me a Killer?! Don't complaine about the stick in my eye, when you got a log in yours... Tell me would you go up to a wild Lion and kick it for killing a Zebra? Heck thet is even a deer in Scotland that kills baby birds and drinks their blood. Everything kills, life is a fight to the death.
@equarg I normally don't agree with hunting, but you hunt for food like so many animals, I respect that. I do not respect killing animals for fun and for for some damn trophy. I tip my hat to you. Ignore Bauhearse, my friend. I appreciate that you name the deer. Who knows? Maybe they will be thankful to earn a name.
Thank you for your kind comment. Sure if I get a buck his antlers go on my wall (European Mount, just the skull cap, not a full mount) But I am NOT a thrill killer. I shoot it I eat it. Period. One of the best things about hunting is just hiding in the woods when it is quiet and watching the wildlife move around you oblivious to your presence.
The coolest thing I ever watched was 15 (about) squirrels playing in a 6 foot pine tree for over an hour. Seen lots of cool things =)
Yea...tell that to the numerous micro organisms that you kill with every breath.
We are all killers, so to speak. One is not greater then then the other. Some people do really well eating just veggies, that is fine. What ever makes you happy. I am eating a lot more fruit and veggies myself, but if I don't eat meat, I tend to get sick without true protein at least every other day. One is not better then the other. Meat has some pro's too environmentally, if done right.
As I posted earlier..I am a deer hunter, but I shoot it, I eat it. I do not shoot for fun. But I have looked into the eyes of a dying deer after I shot it. I saw "it's spark" leave it's eyes. It died w/o pain, it just let go. My mom may be Catholic, but I believe every living thing has a "spark" or soul. Its is what separates a corpse from a living body.
To live on this planet, you must kill, and to die, is often to make life in your stead. W/o death, there won't be life!
@equarg I hate hunters (mostly in britain where I come from) who hunt foxes and other animals and just leave their rotten corspses decaying on the ground, not using them at all. screw those guys
I have to agree with you...as humans you hunt it you eat it.
The only time it is excusable to let any animal go to waste is if it was;
1. Obviously (or you had a suspicion it was) sick
2. Obviously has rabies
3. You opened up the animal and you find the liver was spotted (not a good sign) Refer to reason 1.
I will never hunt Wolf, Cougar, Bobcat, or any carnivore because I don't plan to eat them...I actually love them. Want to see the above in the wild, unmolested!
I hunt because I love the outdoors, when hunting you see and experience things not casual hiker will see, and I love the fact the meat I get is organic, free range, and 100% Local! (withing 2 miles of my house).
Hunting in it self is not a bad thing, for any organism, to live, it must often kill. But as a human I am obligated to respect that animal, acknowledge it's existence, and be grateful for the food on the table it provided. In exchange I keep that deer in my heart forever.
Yep.....But I shoot it I eat it......I do not hunt for sport, or just for the hell of it. I hunt to put food on the table and meat in the freezer. I respect my pray....as well as my fellow predators (wolves, cougar, and others).
For something to live, often something must die. It is the law of nature, and look at the dramatic diversity of life that law has produced.
Sadly humans are abusing this law and resulting in more destruction then life.......
Most hunters are in denial that wolves are a vital part of the ecosystem, if there is not enough room for them, there is not enough room for us!!! (some for cougars and wolves).
we need more people like you. and people need to understand that death isn't a bad thing. it's simple. just disappearing really. it's just those left behind that can make death a bad thing, well, and the process of death. whenever i tell someone that i don't believe the whole universe revolves around humanity, they immediately assume i'm an "animal lover". i don't love animals anymore than i do humans and i certainly don't see hunting as bad thing.
When I read the book to my kids, we all cried so much when we came to this part. I could hardly keep reading. It is such a wonderful book for children young and old. It teaches many good lessons about life, respect, and the environment.

Deer too.
equarg 1 year ago
@equarg thank you for making my point even more clear, animals kill because they have to survive, the hunters I'm revering to, are killing for 'sports' or just for fun. I eat meat, I'm not against killing animals for food, that's a necessity, But just for fun? get a life, don't take one.
freeqeemethefirst 1 year ago
@freeqeemethefirst

Truly if there is a heaven for us...there must be one for them (all).

@equarg and your basis for this is..............
Bumblybee256 1 year ago
@equarg I burried four rabbits (Cuddlez, Bugs, Elmo and Theo), six cats (Browny, Conan, Luke, Leia, Shredder and Junior) and one parrot (Winston) in the last 30 years.
I´d wish to see them again when someone else has performed the duty to put me six feet under.
KrautGoesWild 1 year ago
@equarg It's a nice thought....But sadly inaccurate. There isn't a heaven for anyone. (You must have missed yr 10 in primary)
And......If you believe there is a heaven, then don't you think you'd miss out because you are a self confessed animal murderer? ........And why do you sit pondering whether an animal (a deer for example) has a soul or not when you are quite happy to kill it anyway?
I cannot comprehend how someone obviously religious or spirtual like yourself can happily kill for fun.
jockeylad 1 year ago
@jockeylad
I name each deer so I will never forget them
equarg 1 year ago
@equarg people like you make me sick. You fool no one but the idiots on youtube. I spend day in and day out helping animals, especially the weak and hungry, while scum like you snuff them out for a fucking sport, and in their father's home. i feel no pity for trash like you when you have accidents in the forest...careful with those guns around your children, bitch.
alcicero1 1 year ago
@alcicero1
I had a doe walk past be 10 feet away oblivious to my presence w/ her fawn.
equarg 1 year ago
@alcicero1
I actually love cougars and wolves, I dream of seeing them in the wild, I want to get a photo of them, not shoot them (will not eat them).
equarg 1 year ago
@alcicero1

Everything kills, life is a fight to the death.
equarg 1 year ago

@equarg I'm a vegan, killer.
bauhearse 1 year ago
@bauhearse

W/o death, there won't be life!
equarg 9 months ago
@equarg I hate hunters (mostly in britain where I come from) who hunt foxes and other animals and just leave their rotten corspses decaying on the ground, not using them at all. screw those guys
QueenBonesofdarkness 9 months ago
@QueenBonesofdarkness
I have to agree with you...as humans you hunt it you eat it.
The only time it is excusable to let any animal go to waste is if it was;
Want to see the above in the wild, unmolested!
equarg 9 months ago
@equarg I wonder why people hunt them and leave them.
QueenBonesofdarkness 9 months ago
@equarg
Then why are you a deer hunter??
Dita4fuk 9 months ago
@Dita4fuk
In exchange I keep that deer in my heart forever.
equarg 9 months ago
@equarg You're a hunter?!
hflgoulart 8 months ago
@hflgoulart
Sadly humans are abusing this law and resulting in more destruction then life.......
equarg 8 months ago 40
@equarg you hunt... wolves?!!!!! D:
hflgoulart 8 months ago
@hflgoulart
No!...I will not eat dog (or wolf for that matter).
The only time I will ever shoot and animal and no eat is is out of self defense, the animal is injured and suffering, or if it is rabid or diseased.
I actually love and respect wolves and cougars!
equarg 8 months ago
@equarg phew... thank god you don't hunt wolves... because I love wolves... ad i dont' know why people kill tyhem... they don't make bad things.....
hflgoulart 8 months ago

Most hunters are in denial that wolves are a vital part of the ecosystem, if there is not enough room for them, there is not enough room for us!!! (some for cougars and wolves).

We need them more then they need us!
equarg 7 months ago
@equarg
we need more people like you. and people need to understand that death isn't a bad thing. it's simple. just disappearing really. it's just those left behind that can make death a bad thing, well, and the process of death. whenever i tell someone that i don't believe the whole universe revolves around humanity, they immediately assume i'm an "animal lover". i don't love animals anymore than i do humans and i certainly don't see hunting as bad thing.
