i remember hearing this for the first time in 1996 on my Metal station from the early cable-music stations. a buddy of mine has literally every album that came out in the 80's from any metal band. i was tickled to find someone who had any evidence of these guys and the album is very well produced, but only this song and one other called "is justice your peace" stood out. Pretty cool group over all, i just wish they made more songs like this one.
I actually heard this back in 1996 on the radio "Stage Dive" where they play metal for about 2 hrs on Saturday night.. For the longest time I thought that this was some kinda Megadeth song from a movie or something.. Woke up this morning with "One Like A Son" in my head & just basicly found this song again!!! Damn, almost 20yrs since I've heard this..
i didnt know dave mustaine did voiceovers as a side job i would rather hear this than ratt any day this is pretty cool the first time i heard this song was on 94.5 the rock alternative this was a rock station in nc but now its something else i think this station now is mainly pop or r&b bull shit
Anybody putting this down just wants cookie cutter metal.hard rock. This is a killer album that got me interested in Stephen's work again. I DJ an Industrial night in St. Louis, and this song never fails to get people on the dance floor. Seems the rivetheads are more open minded than the metal heads!
I really like this whole cd. but u have 2 have an open mind. lots of different sounds on it. al is playin some monster guitar on here. i thought some of tunes would have sounded good in a movie soundtrack or score. by no means stephens best stuff...just something away from the norm....
its just steven pearcy experimenting at the end of the day, i like arcade, i didnt like his solo stuff though, arcade is probably pearcy's best post ratt band
I gota say...I was looking forward to the latest soap opera within the ranks of RATT but I heard this song and was hooked...Almost instantly....Lose the hack drummer and Stephen has a pretty good project here...
It takes alot of guts to change style but i think stephen pearcy honestly doesnt suit this kind of music.I respect him so much for trying different stuff.Arcade was really good almost an extension of Ratt, things do have to move on.That's just my opinion so please don't have a go. Thanks.I love Ratt. They still carry on now saw them 3wks ago but miss Robbin(RIP)& of course Juan x
I really like this, but I truly think that his hair metal stuff is better. But, I am glad that he experimented with other genres of music, then returned to what everyone wants, RATT n ROLL!
I LOVE the Vertex CD -- Stephen sounds better than ever - and Al Pitrelli kicks ass, too. I have all of Stephen's solo work and this is one of my all time favorites.
in pearcys defense i gotta say that he was just experimenting with different types of music. honestly i loved the vertex album but some people just want to hear ratt
this is the worst piece of shit I have ever seen. pearcy should be ashamed of himself. it's like "dude. just be yourself. play the hair metal. it's cool."
Were Nine Inch Nails really that influential? Thank goodness for Love Spit Love, Ocean Blue, Hum, and Dream Theater (among others) for pushing original music in the 'where do we go' nineties. I still dig Stephen though. Arcade was a good run.
is this the band with the drummer of world XXI???
this is pretty damn hot!

The album was okay. I saw them open for MANOWAR

I hear some Turbo Lover from Judas Priest, a bunch of Dave Mustaine vocals, with a hint of Zakk Wylde too-sugary guitar licks here and there.
Interesting on first listen, but the mix is poor. Maybe the mix doesn't sound so horrid on the actual album?

Does anyone know where I can find this album?
It seems to be rare as a purchase, and I can't even find any torrents on it.

The drummer (Hiro Kuretani) is a trance / progressive breaks producer / DJ nowadays. (Which is how incidentally I found this video.)

damn al pitrelli is a beast on guitar

Pearcy's voice worked well with Ratt, but
here it doesn't work at all. On this he's
a fish out of water, and I can think of a
100 guys that would sound better doing
this kind of music.

Does youtube not have any videos for this? I'm hardly finding anything.

This could fool people as a Megadeth album. This does sound better than Vince Neil's techno-metal album "Carved in Stone".

i love pearcy n ratt... but i think this band was a mistake.... but thats just my opinion
motleycrue24 3 years ago
More than anything, I think Pearcy is TRYING to sound like Mustaine on this more than anything.
Also, a small coincidence there...Al Pitrelli, who played in Megadeth from 99 to 2002 was the guitarist in Vertex.

Just shows how creative Pearcy is. Great singer, song writer, and frontman. This sounds similiar to his "Fueler" CD.
