Al Qaeda was based in Afghanistan.The Taliban ruled that country. All of the 9/11 bombers were members of the Al Qaeda network. As I stated before there were 17 separate UN mandates calling for Saddam's removal. As far as Iraqi resistance goes. The great majority of people who we've been fighting were not Iraqis but rather Islamic foreign fighters who came to Iraq on a great Jihad to drive out the American Infidel.
