First they have to get through all this nonsense with the crew, then they have to do the whole "meeting up," which includes the fake Straw hats (Sorry if I'm spoiling!), then they have to take the dive. It might be a while until it happens. But I'm sure it will be in the anime due to the kraken helping them out..

@tacoshitter Oda grew up on DB and he admitted he was heavily inpired by it. He modeled Luffy after Goku, which is why he shares a few traits. Oda wanted a simple art style similar to DB and its somewhat apparent in early chapters. As he continued to with one piece you can see how his style has changed from the saga to saga almost.
